Usually top notch but every now and then get super crispy reheated chips. Don’t understand why they do this…..?

This was our first time here. We had lovely well cooked fish, chips and mushy peas. The price and portion sizes were spot on. We will definitely be back soon to this little gem.

Just had lovely fish and chips from this chippy. The chip shops in Haydock and Blackbrook can learn a few things from them. Will definitely be returning.

Great place to get proper fish and chips the old fashioned way, thumbs up from me for lack of chicken or donner kebab. The fish is to die for but make sure you have a good appetite as they are like whales.

I’m a regular customer here at this fine fish emporium and I love it, lovely top quality food, extremely well cooked always hot and fresh. The chippy is always packed out and Friday evenings always queueing down the street. Always a good sign......and the ladies who work there well they are fabulous always full of top quality banter and work extremely fast absolutely nothing lazy about them as previously stated in one of the reviews!!!!! This chippy is a must visit......

If it’s a juicy sausage and a moist fish you’re after I can’t think of anywhere better than this fine establishment the chip shop technicians are fabulous.

The two women who work here are so lazy its untrue..... they cook everything so slow and seperatly so you are waiting so long for even a basic order.... and the portions are extremley small.... new staff needed asap.... do not go here.... waste of money and your time. Better off getting a pie from garswood garage🤔

We go here from work and I used to enjoy. The fish is fine but I feel of late that they over cook the chips and they seem greasy.

A chippy that has been around for donkey’s years. Reasonably priced good quality fish and chips wrapped in newspaper, what more do you need from a Friday night?

This is the local chip shop and does a very nice lightly battered fish. The staff are extremely friendly and this place has been open for as long as I can remember. There is a wide variety of items on the menu and I have never been disappointed with the food. You can ring them and make a telephone order and make yourself know when you arrive - very useful for when the chippy is busy. We are proud to have this little gem in the village

Womble Inn is a small place in the Hardshaw shopping centre which is part butchers, part deli and, thanks to a counter at the back, part fast food takeaway. The range of food on offer includes breakfast barms, burgers, chicken nuggets and curry and chips amongst others. When I visited there was a fairly long queue whereas the Waterfields Choice bakery a few doors down was empty which was a promising sign. I opted for a beef brisket and onion barm which for £2.60 was very good value with plenty of filling and certainly for me was a far better option than going to McDonald's for a processed beef burger. I'd bought my barm before going to a rugby match at the TW Stadium and was so happy with what I'd been served that I went back after the match, but unfortunately they'd stopped serving hot food by then. I'd very much recommend this place as a better option than McDonalds or KFC as you'll not only get better food at a decent price but you'll also be supporting a local business. I don't know when I'll next be in Sint Ellins in the daytime but I'll be most likely be heading to Womble Inn for lunch whenever that might be.

This is my local chippy. When it first opened the lite bite was excellent value for money. Enough chips and a decent size fish. On the last 2 occasions I had the lite bite the fish wasn't much bigger than a fish finger. Long wait in the chippy as they were busy getting online orders out. You would do well to remember your local customers!
