Introduced to Oscar’s by my sister who lives a few miles from Cartmel, we celebrated my wife’s birthday with a family meal there a few days ago. Fabulous food and service and a great atmosphere. The sausages in honey and mustard were amazing. Highly recommended, we’ll certainly be back again.

Worth the 3*. Great atmosphere - pretty informal for a 3*. Love the original anvil (=enclume in French). Friendly staff - and special shout out to our sommelier Dora! 15 dishes to go through: a wonderful culinary journey. It was a wonderful experience. Only suggestion for improvement: given the price of a meal, parking should be included (the only option nearby is the cartmel race course, which charged us £8 for 4h…)

Booked in for the winter set menu and it was lovely. The range of food was perfect and the presents was beautiful. Each dish was introduced by a member of staff with a bit of explanation. Our waiter Harry was very helpful with wine choices and menu knowledge. Overall I would recommend the restaurant and definitely the set menu as it was excellent value at £49 per head. We will go again

Really quaint little village shop that's a bit like Mar Poppins handbag. Don't know how they can cram soooooo much stuff into such a little shop Really fairly priced and alot more on offer than just the expected famous 'sticky toffee pudding' which is to die for and us served hot to take away

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed by my experience. Its location is unbeatable – it’s close to everything you could possibly need, whether it's restaurants, shopping, or sightseeing. The convenience of being within walking distance to key spots really made my stay stress-free and enjoyable. What truly stood out was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every part of my stay was comfortable. From the warm welcome to their attentive service throughout my visit, I felt truly valued as a guest. The rooms are another highlight – they’re more like miniature apartments! Spacious, well-equipped, and designed for comfort, it felt like I had my own little home away from home. With thoughtful touches and plenty of room to relax or work, I was able to unwind fully after a busy day. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a convenient location, excellent service, and a comfortable, home-like experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely family run hotel in idilic location with great views from rooms. Very warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere in hotel lounge greeted by very friendly staff team. Service is excellent and food home cooked by the owner Sue. Went new years eve with our dog who had treats waiting in our room. There was a lovely buffet included in the evening for all guests and an amazing chillie beef included the following day for Dinner. Breakfast as always was fresh cooked local produce...cooked by sue and served by Denise...nothing is to much trouble. Chilled out with drinks by the wood burner and chattered with other guests and Sue and Alan. Thanks also to Mathew Dylan and Lilia for professional and attentive service. Phenominal veiw of stars and VENUS on a clear night. As always a great stay. Will be back in 2025...book us in....all the best to all the team...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.X JULIE DEREK and Riley.x

Nice little quaint tea room set in an idyllic little village square. Good to sit and watch the world go by. The only thing I would say is that the staff appeared to be a little stressed, when we arrived it wasn't busy at all but listening to them, they had clearly had a busy day. My coffee wasn't presented the best either. I haven't let this affect my review as we all have off days. If you're in Cartmel, give it a try 👍🏻
