My reservation is coming up shortly, and I've called to try and inquire about a few things. And I've been givin the run-around. And staff seems to be limited in their abilities, rude, and merely ill informed about almost everything.

Beautiful downtown hotel across the street from the Fox Theater. Great place to stay and dine if you're in Atlanta for a show. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was very nice. I gave the room four stars as the apartment's kitchen was in need of an update from 1980. Additionally, the coffee maker didn't work and there were only three bath towels for four people.

Beautiful hotel! Great location! Stayed over Mothers Day weekend. Booked through airBnB and was in room 205. Room 205 was in great shape, extremely comfortable king size and a double bed. Amazing shower pressure. Only downside was no refrigerator, microwave or kitchen that was listed on my Airbnb. It was late upon realizing so inquired at the front desk the next morning per the direction of the Airbnb host to find I was placed in the wrong unit. The front desk staff had our belongings moved to the new unit 1807 so we could go about our day uninterrupted which was nice. The new unit had a nice view but definitely is showing more wear than the 1st unit we were in. The bedding in 1807 was extremely hard and smaller double/queen beds. Shower pressure wasn't as good either. The lamps and artwork were updated.

Location is nice, parking is expensive I would say. The hotel is like a gag gift it's so nicely wrapped until you open it up and the disappointment. A beautiful welcoming lobby. The rooms are huge, I didn't understand why some sliding doors opened but others didn't. Hotel needs some updates and not patch ups and several exterminations to rid of infestation problem. Staff was phenomenal.

Staff was great but I do have some feedback for your reference: There were several issues during my stay: • Housekeeping was delayed. • It took 10 minutes for the water in the primary shower to heat up. • The shower door was broken in primary, with the hinges not attached to the base. • The TV remote controls were not working properly, and some TVs had no channels at all. • I called the front desk twice, but no one ever followed up or came to address the concerns. • The room itself was very worn and outdated. • The room was incorrectly priced—nearly double what I booked—and included breakfast, which I did not reserve. • It took speaking with two different staff members on multiple days to finally resolve the pricing issue.

The room is spacious with a little kitchen as well! The biggest reason we booked was for the pool only to find out, after arriving, that the pool was under construction. It would’ve been good to know that ahead of time on the website or via email.

TL;DR: Mostly cosmetic issues that could be fixed; overall a nice stay. Would stay again, but wouldn't be my first choice. Checking in/out and the valet were great. The process was simple and straightforward, and the employees were fast and friendly. I had a party of three and opted for a room upgrade to a two-bedroom suite, instead of just two beds. This had a bedroom with a full sized bed and a balcony that stuck out about two feet. The other bedroom had a queen bed and a large walk-in closet with a washer and dryer. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, and the kitchen included a full-sized refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. The living room had a sofa and two chairs, and a desk with a chair to work at. Both bedrooms and the living room had TVs. The balcony is big enough for 2, maybe 3, adults to stand on. It offered a nice view, but don't expect to lounge or even sit on it. The lock also didn't work to the balcony. As we were on the 17th floor I wasn't expecting anyone to get in it, but it would have been nice to know it was secure. I also didn't think to check the bed sizes when selecting the suite upgrade, which is my fault, but the full bed was fine for one person. If we had two couples it may have been an issue. The fitted sheet on the queen sized bed was barely big enough to cover the pillowtop and most of the mattress was showing. Not a big deal, but worth noting. The TVs had cable but didn’t seem to offer Video on Demand or any casting functionality. A channel listing for the suite would have been nice, but after going through all the channels I found channel 2 had the guide on it. They have a QR code in the room for various amenities, and adding a link to a channel listing would be nice. VOD would be nice too, but isn't necessary, and the networking infrastructure may not be possible with the building's age. There were a lot of light switches in the rooms. In the master bedroom, there were four switches and we discovered that some of the switches controlled the power to the wall outlets, but didn't actually control the lights in the room. The four lights on the walls were all controlled by switches on them. The most noticeable issue with the room was the flooring. There were lots of spaces and gaps where the flooring has shifted over time, and even a couple pieces that were sticking up and could have been a tripping hazard. We were unlucky in that the day we checked in, Atlanta was doing a large event with multiple roads blocked off. Not knowing the city, we were unable to get to the hotel when we first arrived. It's possible that locals would know the right backroads to get to it, but we did not and were just following our GPS. We opted instead to just go to the event we had tickets for, but I would have felt better having all our luggage in the room instead of unattended in my vehicle for over five hours. While this isn't the hotel's fault, it was an annoyance that I received two separate text messages asking me to verify my email address, after already verifying it when I received the first text, but received no warning that guests may have difficulty getting to the hotel at check in. For an event to have multiple roads blocked off and cops dedicated to directing traffic, there was surely some notice to the affected businesses that traffic would be impeded. If nothing else, they would have known when it was being setup before check-in hours started. All that being said, the room was nice, just needs some TLC. The staff were friendly and the hotel is beautiful. I wouldn't mind staying at the Georgian again, but there are other hotels that I have stayed at that I will look at first.

We were recommended this place by a close friend who came here with their dog a couple years ago. Unfortunately it seems like this place has gone downhill since their review. We actually came to this place the previous night for a couple drinks and asked if they had a table available for dinner when they told us they didn’t , despite then coming into the restaurant to order another drink and hearing them seat a different walk in table… anyway. We started the night with a bottle of wine, which the Waiter brought over and just put on the table and didn’t even bother pouring it. Not what you expect from a fairly “decent” restaurant. When the First Lady who was taking our order came over our dog let out a small bark as she was coming over and she stood half a mile away from our table, our dog was on a short leash and is only a tiny dog so hardly intimidating. For starter we got some small sharing plates, the food was put on the table but no plates to eat the food on so we asked the staff to bring some over. At no point was we asked if the food was okay. Then for main, this was delivered by another member of staff who also seemed to be scared of dogs so she asked another member of staff to deliver the food… why have a dog friendly restaurant where half the staff are scared of dogs… once again might I add he is a 1 year old puppy cocker spaniel so hardly an XL bully, I understand some people are scared of dogs but half the time he was laying on the floor it was only when someone was delivering food he perked up a little bit. Two of the staff (ladies) were in the pub area at one point clearly taking about us as they kept looking over which just felt rude. I will give credit where it’s due there was 1 French man whose service was superb but he seems to unfortunately be working in the wrong place. In the end we decided to take our dog home as we felt incredibly judged by some of the staff. Safe to say we will not be returning anytime soon and unless you want to feel totally judged and looked down on by the staff do not come here.

My sweetie surprised me with a romantic getaway at The Georgian Terrace so we could enjoy an evening out and head to the Dogwood Festival the next day. Parking in Atlanta is never easy, but thankfully, the hotel offers valet service, which made things simpler. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and check-in was quite a scene – the line stretched across the lobby. It took a while, but my sweetie saved the moment by grabbing me a cold beer, which I happily enjoyed while waiting. One thing that stood out immediately was the stunning architecture. From the lobby, you can look straight up and see the balconies of each floor – a unique and impressive view. Our room was on the 16th floor, offering breathtaking views of downtown Atlanta. Looking down into the lobby from that height was dizzying, in the best way. The elevators were fast and efficient, which I appreciated given the number of guests. I loved how spacious our room felt, with large windows that gave us the perfect cityscape, especially once the sun set and the lights of Atlanta came alive. It really set the mood for a special night. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict – generous portions, so consider sharing if you're not super hungry. Overall, it was a lovely experience and a great spot for a romantic night in the city.

Its location is unbeatable – it’s close to everything you could possibly need, whether it's restaurants, shopping, or sightseeing. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every part of my stay was comfortable. From the warm welcome to their attentive service throughout my visit, I felt truly valued as a guest. Although the staff is very professional 👏 the rooms are not their fault. For the prices this business charge the rooms should be better equipped. As big as the 3rd room I had to transfer to because the toilet in the first two were stopped up. None of the 3 had refrigerator/microwave but a coffee maker meaning you had to retrieve water from the bathroom sink. Sad but true. The 3rd room had no iron or ironing bord. I'm very disappointed with this hotel and would never recommend it for my future events. A big thank you to the staff for trying to make my visit better but it was a total fail. Nice building but needs to be upgraded and pest control needs to be called. It was 2 big cockroches in one of the rooms. Just wasn't satisfied with my stay at this hotel at all.

We booked a table for two on Monday night and took our dog along as we were staying nearby. Very pleasantly surprised to find a full pub on a Monday evening - the place was buzzing and there didn’t appear to be any spare tables, so we were glad we’d booked. My husband tried three or four of the session ales and said they were all excellent. The champagne and wine selections were good and well priced. Everything we ate was delicious and piping hot. I started with tempura prawns and aioli and my husband had halloumi chips with spicy jam - both yummy. For mains we had roast cod with parmenteir potato, pea purée & bacon and also steak & Unsworth ale pie, chips and cabbage - both of which were fabulous. For me the pudding was the highlight - pear tart with liquorice ice cream. Fantastic! We enjoyed our meal so much we immediately booked a table for the following night - and again had a great meal. If you’re staying locally then it a great place for an evening meal. We would highly recommend

A pleasant hotel but I had a hard time getting a hold of concierge / services - both tvs in my room weren’t working, so I tried calling the front desk multiple times but sometimes the call wouldn’t go through, other times no one would pick up. I then tried using their texting services to no avail. However, when I did speak to the front desk, they sent someone up about twenty minutes later to resolve the issue. Additionally, my suite did not have a mini fridge - which I think is a bit out of the ordinary and didn’t allow me to save my leftovers from dinner one night. The fitness center is alright - one of the three treadmills was broken during my stay. Otherwise, the experience was pleasant and the rooms are nice but a bit dated.

The thing is about the village of Cartmel is you're spoilt for good pubs. But we wanted a meal as well as a drink, and chose the Cavendish. It was great. Given it's January, and some of us are in the throes of Dry January, to start with they have a great collection of non- and low-alcohol drinks. And then there's the food - a really solid menu of high quality, interesting pub food. People recommend their pies, which looked great. But I had a classic chicken Kiev - a chicken breast oozing garlic, with lovely soft mash and some broccoli. It was simple; it was beautifully cooked; it was delicious. My wife had roasted cod on cabbage & bacon - which was superbly cooked. Inevitably since we're in a village that claims to be the home of sticky toffee pudding, that's what we had, and it was great - a proper pudding for a January night with ice on the ground. Service is very attentive, with staff checking all is well with the food, taking a genuine interest in the feedback. They work with a real sense of pride in what they're doing. So, yes, you're split for choice over where to eat and drink in Cartmel. But we loved the Cavendish Arms - so much so that in our short break here we intend to go back again.

We wished that we had asked for a gap in courses to appreciate the ambience more and make us feel that we had actually had a night out. There was no cabbage in our 2 dishes of cod and savoy cabbage and the meat pie was just a separate square of crust to one side of the meat. Maybe change the wording to deconstructed steak pie? Booked in and landed spot on time , seated quickly and staff were very nice , menu was decent , varied but seemed expensive on first inspection , we ordered chicken wings at £7 ( for 3 very small wings ) that tasted nice , but were over priced for the portion sze , my wife ordered steak pie , chips , veg , the meat was tender and very good quality , but the pie - was not a pie , just a lid on the meat , no sides , no bottom , just a pastry lid , again tasted great but at £23.50 its overpriced - they may source the beef locally and cook it in ale , but we've had better for a lot lower price , (e.g countrystyle in lancaster ) I had the roast beef sandwhich and fries £12 , chips nice , the beef was quite tough and had no taste , opted to add salt / pepper and horseradish , that helped a touch , total bill inc drinks was just short of £50 , nice place , nice staff , food hit and miss , and very very expensive for what you receive , maybe you just pay a premium for eating in Cartmel ?

I booked two rooms for my wedding and the mini honeymoon and totally regretted it. Here’s already the tldr version of what happened: They tried to put me in a small room, housekeeping signs were either ignored or intentionally flipped over, nobody answered when I called them at least 10 different times, only text requests can be answered and we had to ask the front desk in person to find out this option. The front desk request was also ignored once. When they finally arrived, housekeeping did not clean trash from the coffee table or replace water bottles. They spam texted me one day at 6am without morning call arrangements, making it impossible to keep sleeping, staff also called to my room for things we didn’t request, they spam texted me before, during, even after the stay, with no useful information, basically advertising. the front desk also gave incorrect directions on parking. Rooms do not come with pen and paper, the internet works only for two days on one device. Rooms have no fridge or microwave, no smart TV/Netflix, no bath tub, the ice machine is broken. I have no idea if this hotel is for business or pleasure. When there’s an event happening the road is blocked, kiss goodbye your day because you can’t get your car out. At least it was clean.

Recently stayed here for my daughters wedding which wasn't held at this property but we housed all of our out of town guest and bridal party here for the weekend. The rates were awesome we all had suites as well as kitchens and some upgraded rooms. Staff was amazing had a wonderful made a stressful weekend less stressful. I would definitely stay here again for a nice long weekend in the city. Well kept property and didn't break the bank.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel while we were in Atlanta and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The service and the room were amazing and more than we could’ve asked for. Everyone was friendly and inviting and if we needed anything, there was someone always there to help. I would highly recommend staying here and definitely look forward to coming back.

Customer service was top notch. Location was good to go to restaurants. Rooms awful. Elevators not working. Pool closed. No mini fridge in the room. No coffee maker. No ice machine around. No cups. It looked like a palace from the lobby, but the rooms are below a Motel 6. Extremely expensive/overpriced. I was definitely robbed. I'm still kicking myself for choosing this over the Marriott up the street.

Do not make a reservation here. After spamming you literally multiple times a day for weeks leading up to your reservation, you might then complete their “pre check in” online like I did, where you submit credit card info and a photo of your ID. Which is apparently a complete and utter waste of time and totally pointless, as my reservation was then cancelled by the hotel without any explanation HOURS before I was scheduled to check in. When I was finally able to get in touch with someone at the front desk (who was rude, big surprise), they claimed I had never provided payment info and my reservation was cancelled for this reason. Why did I bother giving you my credit card number and drivers license 2 days prior then via the forms you spammed me about with your 50 emails and texts (oh and calls too, mind you they couldn’t ever bother to leave a voicemail before cancelling my reservation). What a nightmare. I obviously booked other accommodations as I am no longer comfortable staying here. And now I have to worry about getting my $220 cancellation fee back due to their unprofessional negligence. Avoid avoid avoid.

Outdated booking system, they call you daily reminding you of your trip, tons of pointless and spammy automated emails, calls and texts, they have you do an online pre check in where you upload your drivers license and credit card - I did that two days before my reservation and then they cancelled my reservation literally as I was on my way to the airport claiming they had no payment info even though I had submitted it days earlier. Awful awful awful. I would never have stayed here if my usual hotel wasn’t booked. Their staff also needs to learn how to leave a voicemail.

A grand old hotel full of history. There are unique room options. The restaurants are very good. The Terrace is showing its age a bit. Things were not as well maintained as they could have been. The area around the hotel is interesting but is getting a little rough in terms of people on the street.

I was quite excited to eat here given the good reviews. Sunday lunch was promising : roast beef with all the trimmings. What a total let down. The beef was so fatty with nearly half being inedible. The roast potatoes were hard, mange tout stringy. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and we had a distinct lack of gravy. We did talk to the waitress who then removed £15 off the bill but given we had paid £46 for two roast lunches it was a token gesture which was a long way from where it should be. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. If I were a chef I could not have sent those meals out.

I should start by saying that I have had many good meals here previously so this latest visit was hugely disappointing. As a starter I chose the poached salmon ballantine. Now I must confess that I was not familiar with the term ballantine which is indeed a brand of whisky as far as I am concerned. Anyway I love poached salmon normally so decided to order. What arrived was a piece of 'raw' salmon that I could not eat! I queried why it was raw when the menu said poached and was told 'this is how we serve it'. I have since been able to google the dish and found varying cooking instructions that refer to poaching for up to 45 minutes. I told the waiter That I could not eat it as it was too raw and that they should make the menu clearer as unless customers are used to 'fine dining' descriptions they would expect poached fish to be cooked! Eventually the waiter agreed to take away the dish and offered me a replacement starter - I then opted for the soup. Time elapsed and eventually our main courses arrived. At this point I said that I was still waiting for my starter and the waiter said sorry, I didn't think you wanted a replacement!! Rather than wait even longer I agreed to accept the main course without further delay. I chose the spring vegetable risotto. The bowl that arrived was heaped generously which initially was encouraging but as I started eating it I felt like I was eating a plate of soggy rice mixed with a tin of mushy peas and a few raw vegetables and despite missing out on my starter after a few mouthfulls I decided that enough was enough and gave up. There were some other vegetables in the bowl, possibly including chopped asparagus, but they felt undercooked and were certainly not tender, as most recipes for this dish suggest. Perhaps I am a culinary peasant but to me a soft rice dish with hard vegetables doesn't excite the pallet. When the waiter came to collect the plates he could see my dish was barely touched but said nothing until I prompted him by saying ' are you not going to ask why I have barely touched the dish?' which gave him little choice but to ask and be told how disappointed it was. So after barely touching either dish (and not getting a replacement starter, as ordered) I left the pub rather hungry still. In fairness to the pub they did not eventually charge for either dish so I shall still return for drinks and possibly nibbles in the future. Maybe with Michelin star restaurants in the area they feel the need to compete with 'fine dining' dishes but if they go down that route perhaps they need to make it clear to customers what to expect if they are using menu details that are not easily understood.

As a group of 4 we were all fairly disappointed with our meals. So lacking in vegetables which is a no no these days. One of us had an intolerance to garlic and although staff were very helpful in describing the menu in detail the choice was extremely limited. Food was not really as described on the menu. Sadly, as we are locals, we will not be going back

A Nightmare Stay at the Georgian Terrace: Disappointment on Every Floor!!!!!! Let me preface this by saying I've stayed in my fair share of hotels. From The Ritz Carlton to charming B&Bs, and everything in between. But my recent stay at the Georgian Terrace (May 14th, 2024) takes the cake for the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Disappointment lurked around every corner, from the moment I stepped through the lobby doors. Imagine this: You walk into your room, eager to relax after a long journey. Instead, you're greeted by the sight of stained bedsheets – not a single, small stain, but a collection that screams neglect. Disgust creeps in as you glance at the floor – a grimy welcome mat for your bare feet. Looking up, your eyes meet a horrifying sight: a black ceiling, a stark reminder of air filters long overdue for a change. The air itself feels heavy and stale. But wait, there's more! The furniture seems to have participated in a demolition derby. The chairs, meant for comfort, sport gaping holes that threaten to swallow your belongings (or worse, you!). Just when you think it can't get any worse, housekeeping decides to grace you with their presence – at midnight! Their solution? Replacing the stained sheets with… you guessed it, sheets sporting their own collection of holes! For $300 a night, this is beyond unacceptable. It's a blatant disregard for basic hygiene standards and a complete disrespect for paying customers. The Georgian Terrace boasts a level of filth and unprofessionalism that should come with a health warning. This wasn't just a bad hotel stay; it was a complete and utter nightmare. If you're considering staying at the Georgian Terrace, be warned: you're in for a gamble. Will you get a clean, comfortable room, or will you be subjected to the same level of filth and neglect I experienced? My advice? Don't take the chance. There are far better options out there that won't leave you feeling disgusted and cheated.

We recently stayed at The Georgian Terrace to attend an event close by and my experience was top notch. From my initial interaction with Valet(Chris) to Donel F.(unsure of his position, if I remember correctly he’s a manager) Everyone was extremely accommodating and understanding. I had to make a last minute change and Donel ensured me that I was in good hands. The customer service was unmatched, you don’t experience that much anymore, so I had to make sure that I give the appropriate praise. Donel & Staff thank you so much for making my stay enjoyable and memorable, and going above and beyond to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. I’m in a very large travel group and I will be sure to mention my experience with The Georgian Terrace! The hotel is also a structural beauty in itself.

We recently spent three nights and four days at this hotel and it was awful. DO NOT STAY HERE. Honestly I wanted to love this hotel but we had a horrible experience. The location is absolutely amazing and the potential is there but they consistently fell short. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and from the moment we walked in it was a mess. The floor had been redone but there was a million chips and gaps in the flooring. The kitchen looked like it belonged in the 90s. The bedrooms were dusty and clearly only the bedsheets had been looked over. When we checked in around 4pm we asked for a crib for our toddler and were told it would be right up. After we dropped our bags we went downstairs for some dinner in the bar and figured the crib would be there when we finished. Wrong. We called down to the front desk about 6pm and requested the crib once again. They assured us it was on the way. Two hours later no crib. And in the meantime all of the service desks were no longer answering our calls. At 745pm I decided to call the hotel using my cell phone and wouldn’t you believe they answered right away. The man we spoke to was apologetic and stated it was on the way and he would call me back in 15 minutes to make sure. 20 minutes later no crib and the front desk was no longer answering calls from the room phone or my cell phone. My mom went down to the front desk to discuss face to face. Housekeeping finally showed up with the crib (without linens?!?) at 815pm- over four hours after the first request. At this point I had a toddler who was well past tired and was throwing a temper tantrum worthy of an award. At 830pm they showed up with a second crib. In my opinion they showed careless disregard and were not nearly apologetic enough. The following day when we were getting ready we got three phone calls from the front desk harassing us for the additional crib back. On top of all of this housekeeping never showed up until the third day when we called and complained to the front desk. Our toddler had an accident on the sheets of the bed so we needed replacements, they came and cleaned the bathroom and didn’t leave any sheets. Hours later, after another round of repeatedly ignored phone calls, we got through to housekeeping who came and made the bed. The top blanket on the bed smelled so strongly of mold we ended up throwing it on the floor. And there was no fitted sheet, just two top sheets thrown together. Overall for the amount of money we paid this was a terrible experience and we won’t be coming back.

Stunning hotel! I had a wedding in the area and decided to stay here. The location is great; lots of places in walking distance. There’s a couple of restaurants on the property that were actually really good. The Livingston made the best espresso martini! Room was spacious and clean. No issues at all. My husband and I stayed at the Georgian Terrace Hotel downtown Atlanta located directly from the FOX Theatre. We cannot express how thankful and grateful we are to have our stay be one of the best we have had in years all because of Donel Fernandez, the hotel manager. He was absolutely outstanding from the time of arrival to the day of checkout. Donel's hospitality and attention to detail was impeccable! We have never before been treated with such professionalism and care. The care that Donel gave us made us feel more like family instead of just being guests! Donel's kind, caring, friendly and professional demeanor is what will definitely have us coming back to the Georgian Terrace Hotel every time we need a hotel in Atlanta! We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and we know that they will have an awesome experience as well! We cannot thank you enough, Donel, for making our stay very memorable and we cannot wait to return! Terrence and Jenny

A Warm Welcome and Delicious Food Nestled in the heart of Great Langdale, justifiably one of England's most beautiful locations, The Britannia Inn is a perfect pit stop for anyone exploring the stunning Lake District fells. During our recent stay on the nearby Langdale Estate, we had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions, and each visit was a true delight. If you're looking for proper pub food done well, The food was consistently excellent, with generous, hearty portions that are ideal for refueling after a day outdoors. We found the quality to be top-notch, offering classic comfort food that is both satisfying and delicious, for those who enjoy a drink, the selection does not disappoint. There's a great choice, particularly of local beers, perfect for sampling the regional brews. The beer garden is also a fantastic feature – a lovely spot to relax with a pint when the weather allows, soaking in the incredible views of the surrounding valley. Beyond the food and drink, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful on every visit. Their warm welcome and efficient service added significantly to the positive experience, making us feel truly at home, given its fantastic location and excellent reputation, The Inn understandably gets busy. So we strongly recommend booking a table in advance, especially if you're visiting during peak times, to avoid any disappointment.
