Lovely restaurant (quaintly old fashioned) with good food and excellent service. Only complaint is the low temperature/draughts caused by a ridiculously slow door closure on front door. I suggest you install an electrical heat curtain above door; oh, and replace the door closing mechanism with one which works better.

What an incredible experience to visit the bakery! A feast for the eyes, stomach and wallet!! So many wonderful savoury and sweet bakes - some healthy too!! The staff trumped it all however !! Bravo to Sara, Nikki and Mel who made us so welcome and accommodated our gasps of amazement and delight with our ever increasing order! Just got back to our holiday home and the table is full of goodies !! Also stopped to have a coffee there and a mince pie topped with brandy butter 👌Delicious and exquisite 🩵 Enjoyed an early cuppa in the cafe next door and again was impressed with staff, one of whom went up to Dorothy’s tea room to bring me some fresh Chai 🤩

An unplanned visit to this delightful cafe and bakery was a lovely surprise. They have a fantastic range of exotic and regular teas, combined with a wonderful menu of cakes and treats. We tried their home made Stollen which even impressed my partner, who grew up with his Austrian mother’s baking! Upstairs there is a tea emporium, where we spent far too much on beautiful teas to take home as gifts! Highly recommended.

I decided to walk inside , was greeted by two freindly woman, a beautiful selection of cakes, pastries , pastys & pies. I tried a meat & pototo pie really tasty. I eate outside ,drinking a lovely cappuccino watching the world go buy. Next time I will definitely try one of the many cakes they had to offer.

We visit Grange quite often with our guests and a big part of the visit has been to have lunch at Hazelmere cafe. We will not ever visit again. The food was lovely in itself but I queried our meals compared to what we had ordered. The waitress didn’t help and at when it came to payment, I again queried our meals and was patronised LOUDLY by the duty chef who then waved his arm at me and stormed off. Has the management changed? There was a very different atmosphere. It used to be organised, helpful and friendly. I would say more but am not going to waste my precious time. I will just stress to future customers to take a photo of their meal before eating it so that when the bill comes you can show what you actually received.

My first time here and was very disappointed by the attitude from waiting staff. Myself and my friend went in with her 14month old nephew and were the youngest customers in there and I'm in my 40s. The waitress gave the toddler colouring crayons which of course he's no clue what to do with them, she took them from him and slammed them down on the table then her manner of speaking to us as paying customers was very abrupt compared to how she spoke to other customers appearing as if judgement was being made about us. We then didn't order food paid for drinks and left. We will not be returning or recommending this establishment.

We visited Grange today and as we wanted to have a main meal at lunchtime, we initially located the Hazelmere as a suitable place to eat. We had a wander around the town and didn't find anywhere else suitable. Some didn't provide a main meal and others that may have were not open. We returned to the Hazelmere and although very busy, we didn't have to wait too long before we received our meals (3 adults & 2 children) and all were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks to the staff.

A real shame compared to how it used to be visiting over a number of years. I visited with my grandma and 3 young children. We felt rushed to order, asking if they could accommodate 3 small sausage buns for the children and two coffees. We later added 3 small milkshakes - the total? £37!!! The buns were large but bread was too hard for children to chew and served on a bed of wet rocket? Coffees were good but we were watched the entire time. Staff were polite but the whole experience was uncomfortable and overpriced! On reflection, I wonder if this is perhaps intentional? I'm sure they won't lose sleep over two less customers, however I hope this review is useful for anyone considering visiting with children.

Snooty atmosphere. Some of the staff, not all, made us feel very unwelcome. They pulled faces to each other and made comments under his breath simply because my family hadn’t decided what to order. After this unfriendly service my grandparents had realised they have been charged for drinks they didn’t order. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The service was very poor due to the waiters, especially the sassy young man who would give a dirty look every time we said a word. In Addition to this we were charged twice for a drink and I suspect this was the young man doing it out of spite for us taking a while to order. I am absolutely appalled at this as my 80 year old grandparents were preyed on and were made to pay for something we didn’t order. Would never recommend this to anyone who has even considered going here if they want a good time, would leave NO stars if I could!!

After a walk along the promenade. We found the Hazelmere cafe and bakery. Unfortunately it was just about to close so the boys who told me needed a energy boost had some chips and sodas. My wife and I had a much needed tea. I tried the chips (quality control is important!) And o don't know how they cooked them but they were actually fantastic. Despite lateness we were not hurried and service were fantastic. The decor was quaint oldie worldy complete with chandeliers. Not too pricey. Drinks came quickly and food not far behind. Portion sizes were just right and tasted great. Lots of choice for different types of tea to suit all tastes. My first time here, first time its not been full! Obviously well supported by locals and very busy. Service is excellent and the food does not disappoint. I had Cumberland sausage, two lovely sausages on riced mash potato lashings of gravy with al dente sugar snap, carrot and baby broccoli, just perfect. The sausages came from Cartmel Game Butchers, just lovely full of meat nice herbs very good. My partner had Chicken Schnitzel, nice and crisp, looked good. I had a side of Vegan Slaw (no diary), very good, fresh and crisp great flavour. Date and Walnut Tart, best pud I have had for a while, sweet and packed full of nuts and dates. This is a must have pud if you are popping in, I noticed the locals pop in for cake and coffee. It will probably be impossible to get in this cafe again until the autumn but we will come back. We visited this cafe in the 1980’s and was happy to still see it there. It has gone a bit more upmarket since we last visited. I preferred how it was more traditional. We had to wait outside and then there is a seating area you sit to wait for a table, it’s a bit awkward as you are facing other customers eating whilst you sit and watch them. The food we had was tasty and the drinks were nice but it was £30 for soup and a sandwich with a drink so not cheap. What I didn’t like was whilst we sat by the door waiting for our table watching other customers eat, we and other waiting customers we were never acknowledged or said hello to, it’s only a little thing but to be made to feel welcome is so important. Would I visit again? No I think I’ll keep my happy memories from the 80’s 😂

A rather nice bakery and cafe on a decent terrace of shops down near the station at Grange-over-Sands. It's the end nearest the roundabout. I recall this business, or one very similar, being here for many years since we first came up to the South Lakes area. Then I particularly liked the bakery. Now both are good. We popped in to both on a first visit in a long while. First off, it was busy, which is always a good sign. We'd already eaten lunch, regretfully, otherwise I'd have enjoyed eating here, so just had tea, a cafetierre of Rift Valley coffee and a simple cake or pastry each. As there were no Yorkshire Curd Tarts in today, it had to be an Eccles Cake, for want of something else. Well, the best cup of coffee I've had in a good while. Good service. Good pastry.....though I prefer something savoury... All in all we both enjoyed what we had and I would use this cafe again any time. The bakery deserves regular use, as their products look excellent!! Try one or preferably both, you won't be disappointed!! A good four stars, definitely. I hovered over giving five but would have to eat lunch to see.

Stopped here for lunch and I had the hunters chicken ciabatta with sweet potato fries. It was very nice indeed. My only complaint was that I got a bone in the chicken which I was going to point out but no-one came to us to ask how our meal was or to take our dishes away, the staff were upstairs as it was closing time and they were clearing up (I assume). When we went to pay for it the girl didn't ask if everthing was ok or how our meal was so I didn't bother saying anything. It didn't stop me from enjoying my meal or my time spent here.
