Cold and smelled of dogs on arrival. Waited ages to be served and the waitress was more interested on who was at the bar rather than taking our table order for 10 people. Food was very salty and the steak pie in particular was terrible. Every meal as standard/basic or frozen style food. The whole place is run down and miserable. We went off trip advisor reviews as well on a visit to the area and wished we hadn’t. Go to The Pheasant Inn down the road at Allithwaite instead that was lovely food and fab service.

We went here on the off chance and had not book but they gave us a table .The food was fantastic I had a roast chicken Sunday dinner and the chicken was the whole half of chicken my hubby had Beef and said I'd melted in your mouth.In fact my hubby had to help me eat my chicken .We will definitely go again but will book next time.Well done to the Chef and staff.

On Thursday the 4th we was looking for somewhere to eat at the last minute and we popped in the rose & crown and the lovely lady said we could eat omg the food was so nice and well presented and beautiful we all love it and to be honest did not cost as much as I was thinking for want we had around £130 for 6 of us the staff went over the top and could not do enough for you and nice and chatty till your food come and let you to enjoy you food

My family popped in late afternoon on a Sunday as we were staying in the area in the hope for a meal. We hadn’t booked but thought we would try anyway. There were a couple of tables awaiting food and lots of empty tables. As we approached the bar the lady asked if we were there for food and when we said yes she said well we aren’t taking any more orders as we are struggling with what we have got. No smile, no offer of a proposed wait time, nothing. And with a 3 year old and 8 year old in tow, it didn’t go down well. Miserable atmosphere… so quiet. Won’t go back. How about next time saying something like we are quite busy at the moment and there is 60 minute wait etc… ended up at the engine room down the road and whilst it was very quiet and the bar guy seemed quite shy, the food was prompt and lovely!

We were the only people in there and the landlord and landlady just sat at the bar on their iPad. Felt like an inconvenience rather than customers. No music and absolutely no atmosphere. Would avoid this place at all costs.

We were sure to book ahead for a table of 4 for 5.15 as it was a late Sunday roast we were fully aware that not everything would be available so it was no surprise when we were told that there was only gammon left for the roast option however there was still fish and chips homemade steak pie or vegetable lasagne. We happily opted for 3 gammon roast dinners and a homemade steak pie with mash (you get the choice of which potato you'd like) The food arrived piping hot with plenty of everything and it was so so tasty you could really tell everything was lovingly made from scratch for the roast the potatoes came both roasted and mashed with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash. A generous helping of gammon and a large Yorkshire pudding with gravy that was clearly made with the juices as it was so flavourful. The steak pie was brilliant too homemade with large chunks of steak and a choice of potato and whether you'd like the same veg as that with the roast or with peas. This also came with gravy. For dessert there was a choice of either chocolate fudge cake, caramel apple pie or sticky toffee pudding and you had the choice of either cream, ice cream or custard. 2 of us got it with custard and 2 of us got it with ice cream and it wasn't overbearingly sweet it was perfect with a delicious caramel top! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the drinks and service and will be back again one day if we find ourselves holidaying here again

Went here for Sunday Lunch as we had read good reviews. The couple who I believe are the Managers are very nice and the pub was homely and welcoming. We opted for the Roast Beef Dinner. We heard another Diner ordering the half Gammon and half Beef Dinner but this wasn’t offered to us ( if it was, we probably would have chosen that ) When our lunch came it was very well presented and we were looking forward to it. Everything was very tasty but I’m sorry to say the Beef was so tough that it was hard to cut with the knife, let alone chew. We don’t like moaning and didn’t make a fuss but surely when the plate went back to the kitchen when we had finished the staff must have known by how much meat was left that something wasn’t right . We are regular visitors to this area and maybe we went on a bad day but it has put us off going again , Sorry

We'd been staying in a local caravan park and had looked for nearby pubs for a meal on our final night and having looked online we found The Rose & Crown in Cark. It was a little busy when we got there (understandably due to the gorgeous weather, a few families making good use of the beer garden out front) so there was a bit of a wait for our food but when it arrived it was well worth the wait! I had the stuffed chicken breast which was absolutely delicious and for dessert my 8 year old son has what he described as "the best sticky toffee pudding in the world" (I had a taste of it and it did taste amazing). The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the decor was lovely and the atmosphere was perfect for a meal on a sunny evening for our final night of our holiday.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere and nice landlords. And though the menu didn’t strike us as anything special, the food was fantastic! I don’t think the laminate printed menu showcases the quality of the food to follow 🤷‍♂️. The welcome was warm, dog friendly and great food and nice beers. We enjoyed our time here 👍

Disappointing - my partner along with friends visit Cark frequently & have always gone to this pub & always found the food and service satisfactory along with the ambience. It has been taken over during lock down & it really is just shocking. We walked in on a Saturday evening there was us & one other person in the whole pub. No music on except a small TV in the corner. The fire wasn’t lit, there wasn’t any candles or fairy lights to make it a nice atmosphere to dine in, it didn’t feel any element of cosy or festive given the time of the year. The menu was photocopied & very limited which wasn’t helpful if you had any dietary requirements. The pub stank of smoke presumably one of the landlords was a smoker because it was very strong. We had to go ask for more drinks despite us being the only customers in the pub. As we left one of the landlords was cutting himself some cheese and crackers on the table next to the door, I feel like somethings can wait until all your customers have gone or at least go in to your kitchen & do that. The couple seemed nice enough but don’t have a clue how to run a pub which is such a shame. Won’t be retuning sadly unless things change drastically.

We went for a meal here on Saturday night at 7pm- some would say prime time! We were greeted by the landlady, who seemed ok. The pub had no atmosphere or music at all- We were the only people in there. We were slightly alarmed at this but thought carry on and make the most of our holiday night away. The menu was brought over to us on a scrappy piece of paper, hand written with an extremely limited choice. We reluctantly ordered food, hoping for the best. The food arrived looking less than impressive, chips barley cooked and mains extremely tasteless. The drinks were incorrect and mixers completely flat! Nobody came over to check on us or how the food was throughout the meal! And no other drinks were offered throughout the meal!! We had to go to the bar and ask/pay for the bill! To say this pub has recently been taken over, we found it DEAD and extremely disappointing! Absolutely would not recommend this pub!!

Stayed here on the 13th&14th of November room 2 cant believe the size of that bed! Nice clean room with amazing views towards Morecombe bay the breakfast and evening meals spot on, fantastic location for exploring the Lakes and grange over sands Derek and Ann made us feel very much at home would we go back....cant wait to get there keep up the good work guys and thanks for looking after us

Went here from Sunday Roast last week. There was no option in the meats we were just given beef which was quite tough. The gravy was delicious but not many veg and no mash. Also lacked a homemade Yorkshire. I'd say they don't specialise in Sunday roasts but think with some constructive feedback they could me this place into a good place to go. The setting is very nice and relaxing and the owners are very nice and welcoming. I recommend the Robinsons IPA.

We visited the Rose and Crown last week whilst on a family visit and stay in Cark. After searching Google reviews of local pubs, many of them closed on the day we were looking for somewhere to eat out, I read a recent review that claimed that the food was 'superb'. Based on this review I booked a table for our family group. From what I understand, the pub is under recently new management and has only begun to serve food very recently. I became a little concerned about my choice as I walked into the pub, there was no atmosphere,lighting was quite bright, there were very few others in there and the only noise came from the TV in the corner of the seating area showing an episode of Emerdale. We were quickly served drinks by a friendly landlord and landlady and seated at our table. We were given a copy of the food menu, another alert here, they were photocopies of hand written menus. The menu was very minimal and the typical pub grub choices; gammon, fish and chips, steak pie and chips, burger etc. None of us was very keen on any of the choices but most of us plumped for steak and ale pie, chips peas and homemade gravy and one had fish and chips. The pie was named at as local seller, whilst we awaited our food we searched their website and decided that the pies looked fairly decent. What could be wrong, a quiet pub, no other food orders at the time and 4 orders of exactly same food? When the food arrived it was immediately obvious that there was not a chef in the kitchen! Chips were OK, they'd been ready made and deep fried, peas were ok, the pie looked OK but all were merely tepid and as for the 'homemade gravy', I've never seen a more vile jug of lumpy bisto in all my life! The other order of fish was less than average too, fish in batter straight from a supermarket freezer. The pie and chips was £10.95 from what I remember. As you can imagine, we finished up, paid with gritted teeth and left sharpish. An utter waste of money and waste of an evening out on our holiday. All I can advise is not to eat at this pub at the moment, they need a proper chef, better suppliers, to create more atmosphere in the pub, get rid of the TV and up their game many, many notches.

We recently visited The Rose & Crown Inn after looking for a dog friendly pub, we were not disappointed with our visit here. We hadn't booked a table and arrived about 6pm. e were shown a table but told it had to be back for 7.30pm, this was fine as we were only going to eat and then leave. The meal was excellent and when we ordered, we promised we would be done for 7.30pm, the waitress told us there was no need, she would move the tables around. The choice on the mneu had soemthing for us all to choose from. Would definately recommend a visit.

Called in at the Rose and Crown tonight and what a cracking little pub, warm, homely and service as it should be. We had sticky ribs as starter, omg amazing and highly recommended. Main courses of similar high quality. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Lo siento, no puedo revisar el almuerzo del domingo ya que todos salimos antes incluso de que pedimos la comida. Reservamos una mesa para 5, mi esposa y yo + nuestros 3 hijos mayores, 20, 22 y 23, mesa reservada para las 5 pm. Cuando llegamos, la persona a cargo señaló nuestra mesa al lado del bar y todos nos sentamos y miramos los menús. Una camarera se acercó rápidamente y tomó nuestros pedidos de bebidas, mientras que al pedir bebidas se hizo muy evidente que una fiesta de alrededor de 8/9 personas cerca de nuestra mesa era extremadamente ruidosa, pero lo peor de todo era que el lenguaje era absolutamente terrible, el uso del La palabra "C" se usa con mucha frecuencia. Pagamos la factura de las bebidas y salimos. La supervisora con acento de Europa del Este se sorprendió, pero parecía no tener ninguna relación con el motivo de la partida, tal vez ella piensa que así es como los británicos conversan en los pubs, contentos de decir que no, aparte de aquí. Una experiencia inolvidable y por todas las razones equivocadas, ¡nunca iré cerca de este lugar!

Had a lovely evening meal here. They are happy to accept dog in the bar and although not an extensive menu-which was good, the food and specials of the day were very good. Great service, room to park cars too, would recomend.

Sunday was our third visit to the Rose and Crown- on our rare days off we like to visit Grange, Cark and surrounding areas. If we lived closer we would be in everyday! Everything from start to finish was just perfection- the friendly welcome at the door, the genuine friendly service from Laura and team and the food...to die for! Sunday Carvery is an absolute must! The best I have had in a long time (and myself and my husband are chefs and also in the pub business!) an amazing selection on offer, all cooked fresh, hot and just truly delicious! Definatley book a table in advance as this pub is a busy hub! Food was amazing as always but also the drinks and an amazing selection- we both started on cask ales- kept so well- you can tell when pub landlords know how to look after beer! After dinner coffee was truly delicious too- next time we visit I think we will try to book a room in the pubs B&B accommodation upstaires as we never want to leave!

Another great trip for Sunday lunch. 130 mile round trip but well worth it for the carvery lunch. Excellent meat and a great selection of vegetables. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Thank you to the staff at the Rose and Crown for the lovely hospitality, decided to stop after walking the dog (Dog Friendly) in the area. We ended up staying for the afternoon. Me and my fiancé throughly enjoyed the day as did our dog Ralph after tucking into the dog treats provided and a big bowl of water to wash them down! I of course had to sample the local ale while my fiancé tried the “Gin of the week”. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone, we will definitely paying another visit next time we are in the Area!

Came here for Sunday lunch while staying at the nearby caravan park and it did not disappoint. My wife and I had the carvery while my 2 and a half year old had the children’s roast. Your meat, Yorkshire and roast potatoes are served to you and you help yourself to the veg. There was such a range it was difficult not to have eyes bigger than your belly! It was all perfectly cooked and we demolished it all! The desserts were delicious too! It was busy and no wonder so book or get there early! You won’t be disappointed!

After numerous amounts of recommendations we chose to eat here one night whilst staying locally. The carvery was one of the best we’ve ever had. You could definitely tell that everything was made fresh, something which the waitress later confirmed. My other half loved the range of ales on offer. We’ll definitely be back, especially after finding out they offer a bed and breakfast. Thanks again for a great meal.

Having read all the reviews so disappointed after todays visit . Had the carvery stone cold Yorkshire pudding having pointed this out to the waitress was practically calling me a Liar . Beef was tough vegetables were mush, my son in laws fish was lovely..4 adults and 1 child bill nearly £100 which would have been fine if food was good. Maybe my standards are too high, because those rave reviews iv learned a valuable lesson don’t take other people’s opinions.

As we were again in the area visiting family, we returned to this lovely Inn. Wednesday night is pie and a pud night. I had the chicken, ham and leek and my hubby had the steak and ale - both had chips and mushy peas. Amazingly for £9.95 this also includes a gorgeous choice of puddings. All washed down with absolutely perfect Robinsons Dizzy Blonde and some lovely crisp New Zealand Sauvignon. Thankfully we only had to climb the stairs to our lovely clean and comfy bed. Breakfast was served by Laura, the lovely landlady with her ever friendly smile. Can't recommend this lovely place enough and looking forward to our next visit.

We stopped by and discovered that Wednesday evening is 'Pie and pud night' at the Rose & Crown Inn. It's a small, intimate pub and we were welcomed and shown to a table by a friendly member of staff who ran the bar and restaurant both single handedly and admirably, whilst we were there.

Visited last night after reading good reviews. The staff were absolutely lovely. We didn't book a table, but the bar man showed us to a suitable table for 2 adults, a 6 month old baby and a dog. The barman took our drinks order at the table and brought our drinks over. He then took our food order. The food was quick And amazing. A lovely steak and ale pie with huge chunks of tender beef. The bacon loin with cider sauce and chorizo mash was lovely. Overall, a nice relaxing atmosphere with lovely staff. Would definitely visit again.

We can't praise this family run pub/BB highly enough. We have just enjoyed a lovely 2 day break staying at the Rose and Crown in Cark, We were greeted on arrival by a very cheery Laura who showed us to our room. The room was bright and clean as was the bathroom. It was well stocked with tea and coffee making stuff.The pub was warm and friendly with a mix of locals and tourists who all seemed to be chatting amongst themselves having a good old chin wag.

Stayed at the Haven park nearby for 3 nights but called here off the cuff on Friday and it was that good we went again for Sunday dinner. Lovely food and very friendly staff! Will definitely call again.

Returned to The Rose And Crown as we were in the area and after visiting several other local places we've decided we wouldn't bother trying anywhere else as nowhere compares. Food, service and quality of beer is first class. Wish we lived closer.

We were staying in the village in July 2019 and visited the pub a few times. It has a friendly atmosphere, staff and locals all friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the pub but the food being served looked very good.

Called in on Tuesday for something to eat and we were pleased to hear it was ‘ all you can eat curry night’ . There were 3 different curries to choose from along with rice , chips and an assortment of sides . All cooked fresh. The lamb, chicken and beef ( whichever curry you chose) melted in your mouth, and you can keep helping yourself until you’re stuffed. Garey certainly knows what he’s doing in the kitchen and Laura runs a great front of house. Very friendly, cosy place. We’ll definitely be back soon

Had a run out to grange to celebrate a joint 40th & 60th birthday . A friend had booked the table and what a lovely cosy pub with a nice atmosphere, lovely attentive staff and the carvery absolutely delicious. The lady who served us was very welcoming . Quantity was plentiful and the quality amazing, all freshly prepared some of the nicest veg we have tasted in a very long time, well worth a visit you are in for a treat in our opinion. After the carvery some rich tasty sticky toffee pudding-mmmm delicious again another high quality course.

Booked a table here with four adults, two kids and baby because it had great reviews, I was not disappointed. Warm welcome from start to finish. Super friendly place, ordered a prawn saganaki starter and, the flavours were, oh my gosh delish, then I had chicken with onion mash and pepper sauce and black pud crumble, honestly it was best meal I've had in ages, kids menu was good and all of our party were happy. Would love to come and visit here again, quaint wee pub with lots of charm in all ways.

We were stopping at the Haven Camp and popped here for some dinner today. Its quite small inside so I'd recommend booking if you want to secure a table. We were quickly seated and drinks order taken. Three of our party opted for lamb shank and one for beef shin roast. Oh my goodness, it was fantastic!! Both the shank and shin fell apart, so succulent. The vegetables were beautifully prepared and seasoned. Who would have even thought of putting mustard with mashed veg?! It was well portioned, with even the lads in the party struggling to finish their meals. We'll definitely be back if we are in the area again! Thank :)

Not been for a while , but reading the reviews decided to try it again . So glad we did , Sunday lunch was excellent ,bit of a wait but we didn’t mind as the atmosphere and surroundings were so nice , and it was worth waiting for .

Justo a las afueras de Cartmel y cerca de Holker Hall, el Rose and crown es un pub rural que admite mascotas y cuenta con un pequeño estacionamiento, pero con un estacionamiento adecuado cerca, no hay necesidad de caminar hasta el final, la comida está recién preparada y la calidad habla por sí misma, lo mejor de la cocina casera en esta visita, todos tuvimos la opción de carne de res para el almuerzo del domingo, fantástico, simplemente fantástico. Tuvimos dos de nuestro grupo con alergia a los frutos secos, pero no había ninguna preocupación con la cocina o el menú. Llame de nuevo en un futuro próximo.

Le envié un correo electrónico a la propiedad al realizar la reserva para ver si podía organizar la entrega de globos y tomar unas cervezas en el hielo en la habitación para nuestra llegada y como parte de la sorpresa. . nada era demasiado problema para Laura y Garey. Incluso pusieron su propia tarjeta de cumpleaños allí también. Nos sentimos bien "en casa" tan pronto como llegamos. Encantadora ubicación, ambiente acogedor para el pub y todo el mundo era muy agradable. ¡La habitación se veía increíble lo que Laura nos había preparado! Tuvimos nuestra cena aquí y la comida era excelente! ! Luego descubrimos que la hora del desayuno era más tarde que cuando necesitábamos estar en el campo aéreo. . . esto no afectó a Laura en absoluto, ella ofreció la opción de desayuno completo en inglés y nos prepararon temprano o una opción de brunch empacado para llevarse con nosotros. Servicio increible! No sentimos que estuviéramos imponiendo en absoluto. La cama era muy cómoda y dormimos perfectamente. ¡Estábamos tristes de no haber podido quedarnos una noche extra! ! Gracias por recibirnos y por todos los extras que hiciste. Hiciste nuestra estancia mejor de lo que nunca hubiera esperado. ¡Esperamos verlos a ambos - y a Lutero! - De nuevo a finales de año. A little beautiful old fashioned pub and place to stay. Stunning surroundings but the best thing is the food! Omgoodness can that man cook! Garey and Laura are superb hosts and you are made to feel right at home XX Well worth a visit xx

He estado aquí unas cuantas veces ya que vivimos en la zona y bien, ¡vaya! personal amigable incluso cuando están bajo presión comida increíble, excelente ambiente y buena cerveza, estos muchachos ciertamente saben lo que están haciendo y se nota. Incluso cuando está embestido, se las arreglan para mantener una sonrisa en la cara y tener el tiempo para hablar con usted. Le recomendamos altamente si quiere pasar una tarde agradable en un entorno encantador con una gran cerveza y una deliciosa comida de origen local. ! 5 estrellas bien merecido libro temprano como puede ser bastante ocupado a veces.

Firstly I'd like to say I have worked in the industry,working at several locations personally giving high standards over a long time and keeping them.....you could just say that I have have certain expectations!

Everyone in our party loved the food: great choice and It was delicious! Staff were friendly and accommodating.

We had a cottage booked in Cark for a long weekend that was also our daughters 33rd Birthday.

Just been to the Rose and Crown tonight and it surpassed expectations. All of the staff were so friendly and went above and beyond, managing to cater separately for an eight month old easily and with no fuss. All of our food was lovely and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here after running in the Cartmel Lakeland trail races. The weather was horrendous, so we were soaked, cold and exhausted!

On my visit to the rise & crown I found that Laura and Gary where very lovely. The food superb. Gary is clearly an great chef. The pub it self has a great atmosphere and the pub dog was a great dog. Would defiantly go back and will be telling all my friends and family to visit this pub. Well done Laura and Gary

A traditional pub, with a bright, cheerful and comfortable interior and a pleasant outdoor area which has a splendid view (although only penguins would have enjoyed it today). We have enjoyed it before, but this was the first time here with new management... we had Sunday lunch and were very happy.

This is my second review regarding this pub as I can't express enough how good the food is! Garey and Laure where again fantastic host's and Luther(the pub dog) was lovely again, even he gives you a friendly greeting. If you're ever in this area I would definitely pay a visit.

My wife and I stumbled across this pub while staying in the local area and what a find! Stunning roast with quite possibly the best gravy I have ever had! All served next to a roaring fire. Service was fantastic and to top it off it offers a good selection of drinks to wash it all down. A fantastic way to spend a Sunday evening.

Big portions reasonable prices great tasting whole hearted food. Excellent service from the young couple who have enthusiastically recently taken this pub over. Much better value than its counterparts in nearby cartmel. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Stayed for one night when visiting friends, you just get such a welcoming feeling when walking through the door, the landlady was so polite and attentive we had a 3 course meal and enjoyed every last bite, room small but perfectly adequate for a overnight stay, relaxed breakfast, dog friendly, will definitely be returning

The food here has improved immeasurably since the new owners took over .The menu offers unpretentious and tasty pub food that is cooked to order and arrives piping hot .My partner had a large bowl of homemade cockleleekie soup followed by a mushroom and beef stroganoff

Just eaten in the top house can't fault it absolutely amazing Sunday lunch staff really pleasant can't do enough for you. Definately will be back.

We had a fantastic Christmas day dinner here. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I believe that the people running the pub only over six months ago, I really wish them all the best they were amazing hosts! I would not hesitate to return. Thank you.

We've enjoyed visiting The Rose and Crown since Laura and Garey took over and came back with friends. The pub looks even better with all the Xmas decs and the cosy log fire. Food was excellent and service - as always - first class. We stayed the night in their very comfy rooms and enjoyed a great breakfast. Can't wait to go back.

Called in today with 2 friends, I had sampled the Rose and Crown hospitality and wanted to show some friends how wonderful it is. We were not disappointed,we all chose the same Steak and Ale Pie all 3 of us declared it wonderful. They say freshly cooked and that is most certainly what it was. None of your pre packed portion controlled pub chain food. Real honest good food.

Haciendo un viaje a nuestra caravana de la cercana hacienda Holker Hall, decidimos cambiar nuestra rutina y comer fuera en lugar de cocinar una vez que llegamos. Hemos visitado el pub en muchas ocasiones durante los 30 años que hemos estado viniendo aquí bajo varios propietarios. Hemos tenido algunas comidas estupendas y algunas menos memorables!

He visitado este encantador pub varias veces desde que la nueva administración (Garey y Laura) se hizo cargo y su atención a los detalles y mejoras debe ser totalmente elogiada. La comida es de primera clase y servicio, cervezas y una selección de vinos y bebidas excelentes. Asegúrese de hacer una visita, lo mejor es reservar con anticipación para evitar decepciones.

Food was absolutley delicious and the service was impeccable. Been here a few times now and would definitley recommend! Luther (the pub dog) is absolutely beautiful too. All round great place.

Habiendo visitado la Rosa y la Corona

Llamado el día anterior a comer, ya que uno de los miembros de nuestro grupo era celíaco y no le dijeron ningún problema, al día siguiente pedimos y nuevamente reiteré que la comida llegó y tenía aros de cebolla batidos con cerveza encima de Chips, así que tuve que regresar. Cocinaron patatas fritas nuevas pero mantuvieron el filete caliente, que era tan duro como las botas viejas.

After a lovely day out called into the Rose and Crown pub for our tea. Once inside this lovely pub we noticed a dog bowl for water and on enquiry found they are dog friendly, so our dog Charley came in. The staff were lovely and very friendly and the food wonderful. A couple of locals where there and they too acknowledge us. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the Unicorn bitter is highly recommended.

Great place to have lunch, Thai Prawn Curry was delicious as were the pork ribs. Good atmosphere, a lovely cosy country pub with fantastic view over the bay. Staff were very welcoming, we will be back

The Rose and Crown is a pretty pub, lovely decor and warm, welcoming feel. The food was lovely and the choice of beers and wine, excellent. Most outstanding was the service we received,both efficient and genuinely friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely evening.

Wonderful pub and excellent food. Came here after an expensive evening in Cartmel. We enjoyed the ambience and the food so much we booked to return the next evening for Sunday roast. A real hit with the locals
