The best restaurants in Sefton North West

A lovely Sunday lunch for Mothers day. We've eaten here a few times before, the Sunday sharing platter is excellent, and our waiter Harry went out of his way to look after my 98 year old pescatarian mother. She thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Bass!

Staff was very professional and food was amazing. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the highest respect and taken to our table. Food was explained to me as Iam a very fussy eater. Nothing was to much for the staff it is hard to believe they are all training. Will definitely be back and will highly recommend.

Came at the recommendation of my wife. Lovely breakfast, great service and a cute ambience. Eyes peeled for the secret seasoning on the grilled tomatoes!

Such a gorgeous little place with the most weloming, friendly staff! The service is amazing and the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a good time! The lice music and karaoke is fantastic! Lovely atmosphere

I often stay in Southport as I lived there for 7 years. I arrived last night for 1 weeks stay and searched for English breakfast – to find the Whistle stop café, which I had not been to before. So I went there this morning for the English breakfast. It lived up to the reviews on Trip advisor – quality ingredients especially the sausages, black pud and bacon. The latte coffee was so good that I had 2 glasses of it. The price of this quality breakfast was very reasonable by todays standards. I will be going back there for the English breakfast and Latte coffee before I leave Southport.

We had a fantastic evening here, the food was amazing and reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and keen to please, the venue is cosy yet roomy between tables making you feel relaxed and welcomed, this was our first visit but definitely not be our last, we look forward to returning. Tasty food but awful service. Such a disappointment. This place has been brilliant in the past but while the food is still lovely the place is let down by the service. It’s totally chaotic. There doesn’t appear to be any organisation up front. Firstly they were completely overbooked. They squeezed 11 of us onto a table for 6 for the first 20 minutes. But at least we got a table. A few people turned up after us with reservations but basically had to leave because there was no space. It only went downhill from there. Drinks came out one at a time with several reminders that we were missing some. Bizarrely they then chose to serve all the adults food first before the kids meals with the kids just getting restless and hungry. At least the food was tasty. Finally I would just not bother ordering dessert if you do go. 20 minutes to get someone’s attention to order and then at least 25 more minutes to get the kids bowls of ice cream out (which we were charged full price for when they should’ve been included in the kids meal price). Our waitress was friendly throughout but clearly overwhelmed. We tried to flag her down several times to ask for an update as the little ones were now getting beyond bored and very tired. She was busying herself on the opposite side of the quite small restaurant and appeared to be purposely not looking over at us as I think she was just embarrassed by how long things were taking. Multiple other staff just faffing near the tills and no one even trying to clear our table from the main course or update us on our order. The lack of communication just added to our poor experience. It’s such a shame for a previously great place. I’ve heard from other people who have found the service similar when they went. Someone told me they waited 1 hour for their desserts and bill when they went and again saw the staff turning away multiple people looking for a table while they sat waiting. They must not want people’s business. Certainly for my party the tasty food just isn’t worth the sheer frustration of the service and we won’t be back.

Excellent meal and service. Cooked just like we liked it. Sausages were delicious and will return soon

Primera visita y teníamos un menú Early Bird ayer nietos les encantó la dulce amarga pollo y arroz pedimos patatas fritas extra que no necesitamos, como el tamaño de las porciones excelente! Todos entrante de gambas y especialmente encantador tostadas costillas de carne sólo cayó el hueso! Sólo,, recomendación sería una señal más grande que decir que estaba abierto al primer pensamiento estaba cerrado! ! !

Excellent food in a very relaxed atmosphere with friendly, pleasant staff. Will certainly be going again.

Afternoon drink with friends. First visit on recommendation and didn’t disappoint. Greeted by warm and friendly staff who were excellent. Given olives and nibbles as we sat down. Lovely rose blush pinot wine. Dog friendly and reasonably busy but not overly so. Would definitely visit again.

Great place. The food was excellent and all prepared fresh. The staff are so friendly. Highly recommend. Will definitely be going again.

Best steak in southport. Sons birthday treat, a beast of a tomahawk. Cote de boef or ribeye if you cant manage the big one, also great burgers

Myself &wife went Christmas Eve,the restaurant was80% full which is a good sign,we decided on scallops,mussels and salmon pate(starters),lobster tagaltell and catch of day(mains),cheeseboard with2xport,everything was first class,the chef has high standards and the service was superb,I can only advise people to try this excellent restaurant ,we will definitely going back in new year,great little place…10/10.

Cooking class at Megafauna in Southport was so amazing!!! We did vegan basics and was so impressed, was really special experience, did loads of stuff and got lunch and food to take away with us. Ben is brilliant!
