Staff was friendly and helpful, enjoyed the glass house. Food was amazing with a view. I would recommend eating at the glass house

Fellbites is situated right in the centre of Glenridding so is easy to get to. The menu is good and on our visit they had a number of specials too. My wife ordered Spicy lentil soup and I ordered beef burger with jalapeños and chips, both meals came out quickly, were piping hot and tasted delicious. We would recommend this place.

Sandwiches, toasted or not, well filled and freshly prepared. Other choices also looked delicious. Chips stay crispy! Delicious coffee, even the decaff. Lovely people running it, very friendly and helpful. Dogs welcome. Only open evening is Friday, also do Sunday lunch roast.

Dropped in at the end of our hike. Very friendly, great quality tea with a pot of hot water given automatically and no need to ask. Excellent home made cake. Great value for money, especially regarding it is the lakes. For two people we e paid more for just the cakes elsewhere.

We thoroughly enjoyed the location of the hotel it is indeed a beautiful spot. Both the public rooms and our own room were very nice. A high spot for us was your staff who were all friendly, helpful and professional. They are a credit to you. Our only issues are with regard to the food which I have commented on below.

Food delicious, very reasonable prices, service just a bit slow. 15 minutes for drinks order to arrive isn't great. Ate scallops and lamb.

We have been before and have recommended it to people. we will however not do so again. we were disappointed this time and won’t go again. The food was not worth the price we payed for it.The chicken was undercooked and the pudding did not appear to be homemade.

Had the most delicious Sunday lunch. One of the best we have had followed by fruit crumble and custard. Also delicious. Staff were really attentive and so friendly. Lovely farm shop too with fabulous variety of local produce. Definitely will go back again.

We ate here on our first of two nigths staying at the next door Ullswater Inn in Glenridding. The Orangery is a beautiful room. It is spacious. with nice views out. They could have crammed more tables in, but they haven't which gives the dining experience a lovely ambience. The service was very good. So why only an average rating? It's because we didn't feel the food was better than average. We started by sharing foccacia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For £7.50 we got two small pieces of average foccacia with a very vinegary dip. It wasn't good and even it had been it wouldn't have been worth it. For main course, one of us had steak and ale pie with seasonal veg and mash with gravy. The steak and ale pie looked like it had been bought in with 1/3 of it served up to us. It looked twice baked. The meat was soft enough but verging on a mush in parts. It tasted reasonable but was not really flavoursome enough, The brocolli and cauliflower were both overcooked. Our other dish was vegan broad bean and pea burger with chips. The 'burger' was a little mushy with a mild flavour. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience here much more than at the next door Ullswater Inn and the price was similar. However, we felt that it would and should have been so much better if the food had been better.

Called for Sunday lunch. Starter homemade pate was excellent so thought rest would be as good. Ordered 1 x Salmon fillet whi h my wife enjoyed. I had beef rib with veg and supposedly homemade Yorkshire pudding (Aunt Bessie's are far better!!!!)....Chef needs a lesson in making Yorkshire Puddings. Beef rib came which was 90% fat....a bit of beef with a thick fat centre.. ..inedible . They brought me out after a long wait another piece of beef, equally as bad. The cost for this piece of mainly inedible fat was £19 Ultimately bar redu Ed bill by cost of my main course.

A welcoming pub with excellent service. I enjoyed the lasagne with salad, coleslaw and garlic bread, and my partner enjoyed a rump steak, both were cooked well and piping hot. The young Irish man who served us was very professional throughout. Good prices too.
