The best restaurants in Wheelton and Withnell Chorley North West

Excellent food and very reasonably priced - all freshly cooked and plenty of it too! Owners are very welcoming and provide a great service. Would highly recommend a visit 😀

We really like Wheelton tearooms. Friendly service simple favourites on the menu. The food is always fresh and lovely.

Second visit here and it didn't disappoint! Loved the carrot, celery and apple soup and the egg mayonnaise sandwiches. Such a friendly, cosy cafe.

I went in here last Friday, new owners. They had a some taster’s on of what they will be serving. Fish, scotch eggs, black pudding, home made steak pie, all great. Beer was good, plenty of people turned out. Hopefully the menus will be up and running soon.

Table booked for 6 pm, seated promptly. Drinks order taken immediately and delivered in moments. Food ordered with ease, and starters brought quickly. We tried veg spring rolls, prawn toast, and chicken/sweetcorn soup. All piping hot and delicious. We then shared a quarter crispy duck with pancakes.. came pretty quickly after starters and was also delicious. Once finished, we were offered a longer wait before mains, which was a nice touch. Mains arrived and were, you guessed it, piping hot and delicious. Sweet and sour chicken with chips and chilli garlic pork with fried rice. Only gripe, and it's my fault really due to my toddlers palette. The chips appeared to be of the frozen kind, and it would have been more enjoyable if they were freshly cut and cooked. I'm not deducting any stars because of this, as I shouldn't have ordered chips anyway, lol.

We got a voucher for a 3 course meal for 2 with processco. When we arrived we were seated quickly, drinks order taken and menu provided. We were told about the extra supplements for 1 starter, 2 of the mains and 1 dessert! Drinks came quickly and we had barely touched them before being offered more. Eventually the order was taken. We ordered all three courses at once. It was very slow but the food was lovely. The goats cheese tart to start was delicious. We both had suppliment mains (steak and duck) but they were really nice and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Somewhere that actually gives you enough toffee sauce! Amazing. We enjoyed it, with drinks (2 diets cokes and 2 alcholic) and the supplements it nearly doubled the cost of the voucher but we enjoyed it.

My first (midweek) visit to this restaurant. I was expecting so much more. Service was efficient but somewhat workman like. The popadoms were not great and certainly not crisp, bordering on chewy. My starter of tandoori salmon was anything but tandoori. An overcooked salmon fillet piled with fried onions. Totally void of any spicing. I have to admit I struggled to eat it. Mains fared much better but by this time the moment has passed.

Having passed this numerous times ,but having not called in ,we were looking for somewhere different for a bit light lunch Well this is the place a brilliant pot of tea ,oh and what a selection of cakes Will definitely return

We ( 3 Adults)called in here after a lovely walk around Brinscall Lodge Area. The staff are very helpful & the Fish & Chips are absolutely delicious. ( In fact the best we've had in years & very fairly priced) Will definitely return

What a lovely place. We took my mother in law there for a cup of tea. First time she had been out for two months due to illness. They were so kind , helped her into the restaurant and were extremely attentive.

What a disappointment. Terrible Sunday lunch with the beef basically uncutable and unchewable. Very little customer attention. Expected better from a village pub.

Not been in for a while so as the pub has been closed for a while but heard it was open again. So decided to pop in. Lacking atmosphere and not much in the way of welcome. Very quiet. No food but beer was good.

I have been twice now and my friend once and the food is delicious, fresh and tasty. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend it

Had a booking for Sunday lunch at 4pm but they said we have no meat left for roast and no cauliflower cheese...we left and will not be booking any more for Sunday lunch
