Starting off the an excellent pint of Thwaites bitter, I had the Sunday roast lunch, pork, beef and all the usual trimmings, my wife had the chicken breast in peppercorn sauce, a couple of glasses of wine to wash it all down. We followed this with the Pear and Toffee crumble dessert which was absolutely outstanding. So, overall, an excellent afternoon, superb service, nice and timely and not rushed, excellent food and great value for money. We will be back again. Can't wait to sample the great range of pies on offer as well as nibbles. Keep up the good work folks, you are an asset to the pub and the village.

Excellent Sunday roast at this newly reopened pub. Friendly and efficient service with attention to detail. Very comfortable and clean surroundings with a lovely atmosphere in the pub. Football playing on TV but no intrusive noise. If you're thinking of a visit the sticky toffee pudding is a must have.

Not been in for a while so as the pub has been closed for a while but heard it was open again. So decided to pop in. Lacking atmosphere and not much in the way of welcome. Very quiet. No food but beer was good.

We popped in on Sunday afternoon and so glad we did. The place was really busy, bit still had a very welcoming, cosy and friendly atmosphere. We had chicken goujons and prawn cocktail to start and then steak and chips and cheese pie and chips. It was all presented and cooked perfectly the chips are gorgeous and it is clear that everything is freshly made and prepared ehich makes a big difference. The hosts are fantastic and very accommodating. Definitely recommended

Burnt greasy chips, even the fish batter tasted burnt but the fish inside was good just not what we expected from the recommendation we got. I was shown pictures of a huge portion from a friend but I guess the cost of living has taken its toll. It was ok just not living up to my expectations

Went at opening time on a Saturday in January, so it was quiet but still a few tables booked.. so the atmosphere was down but meant our food came fast and fresh to order.. Can’t really fault the food at all, was all fresh and you could see the effort that had gone into the preparation.. I had the sharing platter which was only £17.50PP; 3 big ribs, 2 big wings, a large portion of pulled pork & pulled brisket, homemade smoked sausage, fries, ranch beans, coleslaw & a handful of pickles.. If I had one gripe it would be the brisket not being sliced and kept whole but it was still very nice and tender when pulled. You get 3 homemade sauces at the table, Tennessee BBQ, Honey Sriracha & Carolina Mustard… all 3 are superb. The host/owner is very nice welcoming lady with plenty gusto and a great sense of honour.. Will definitely return!
