A great cafe with excellent and friendly staff. Impeccable service and next to no wait time for food and coffee. The staff member on the coffee machine was exceptional, as all coffees came out great. Server Ben was great for our group.

Nice to receive good customer care. Farm shop is excellent and quite varied in selection of fresh produce including fruit and veg, cheese, bakery items, cakes, butchery. Cafe is good and you are not rushed. It would be nice if offered cream with the cake as an an additional option

My sister and I dropped in for drinks, as we had travelled to the area for a funeral and had time on our hands. I just had a couple of drinks but my sister ended up succumbing to a bacon cob which she thoroughly enjoyed and which almost tempted me off my life-long diet! We were served by a young man who was so pleasant and couldn’t do enough to help. Service really was excellent and he went out of his way to provide me with a perfect piping hot latte; he really is a credit to his employer. There’s a loo, too, although this is outside and not the best on a cold, wintry, windy day. Still, we were very grateful for it so there’s no complaints! The fresh produce looked very appealing, especially the meat and cheeses, and I’d definitely have bought some if we’d been going straight home. Prices looked reasonable and, as a family run business with meat reared on the farm, this is an all-round great example of what a proper farm shop and cafe should be like.

I didnt visit the cafe but bought two small pieces of fillet steak in the farm shop for ..wait for it..£11. 37p, expected an explotion of flavour when we tried it. Anyhow it was average. Too Good farm shop in Wrightington sells tastier hand reared meat for a cheaper price. The meat here is overpriced in my view.

An enjoyable lunch, all food was freshly made and tasty. The team was also very helpful, the only draw back was that there was no vegan option available for dessert otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Visited today at lunchtime with another couple for a snack lunch. Limited menu in some respects and only open three days a week, but what they do is very good. Nice soups, all freshly made to order well filled sandwhiches, super cakes and a good cup of tea. Pleasant service so all in all very nice indeed. Just a tip, gets pretty busy, so try to book as we did. Also a great farm shop on the same site with some superb looking meat and vegetables, so a good place to stock up.

Been to Spout House Farm Tearooms a couple of times now,you are always get a warm and friendly greeting! The lady who makes the cakes is amazing, I recently had the Mars Bar Cake which was so good, my son had a sandwich which he enjoyed and husband enjoyed a late breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast. Always recommend this place and will be returning soon :)

We have been a couple of times now and really enjoy this traditional tea rooms on a real working farm. You get real tea in tea pots all served in a mixture of crockery which adds to the farmhouse ambience. On this last visit I had a roast beef sandwich. It was slow roasted til the meat falls with a dip pot of real gravy. The bun was like a brioche type which was just right. This dish seems to be on most if the time so I would recommend. I had a vegan Tiffin type tray bake which was very moreish in every way. This place is family run. They use local ingredients and the meat comes from the farm itself, their pitatoes come from the village too. The cake display is to die for. On my first visit here I had Guinness cake which was delicious. Give this place a try. You may have to share a table as it's one of those 'always busy' places.

This little place has become a regular weekend treat - Karen and her lovely crew dish up the most delicious array of homemade (proper homemade) cakes, scones, hot & cold meals, not to forget top notch tea & coffee. I had pea and ham soup on my last visit which was amazeballs, even dare I say better than my Mum’s! Even if you don’t have a food allergy, I can highly recommend the gluten free drizzle cake which is bloody stupendous. The menu is different every time I go and its so nice to see something imaginative on the menu, such a change from the same old tea room fayre - but if its traditional you want, they’ve got that too. The bread and ingredients in the sarnies are also spot on and I understand its all locally sourced. Great, if a little on the large size, portion sizes - which let’s face it, isn’t a negative when we’re talking cake is it? Mahoosive fan!

After looking at our reviews we thought we would give this place a try, but we were slightly disappointed. The food seemed to be being made by 2 young girls, I ordered a cheese sandwich which should have had pickle with it but didn't arrive and I forgot about it until I came to pay and realised I didn't get it. The cheese wasn't very tasty the bread wasn't anything special and the salad was just plonked on the plate and was rather wilted, not surprising when I came to pay and saw the bowl on the side instead of in the fridge, as it was a very warm day.On the plus side my sister had the soup which she said was tasty.Sorry to say won't be returning.

My wife and I went to spout house today. We both had beef hot pot and a pot of tea for two. When the food arrived the hot pot was not hot in fact it was luke warm. We politely asked for the meals to be heated up. When we received the meals they were just OK. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The farm shop is stocked with home reared beef and lamb, they also have a selection of pork and chicken and sausages. We have bought some lamb and beef to try and if we are happy with the quality then we will be back again.

I have bought my meat from the farmshop for years and it is the best meat I have ever tasted. I can certainly taste the difference between meat bought from the farm shop and the meat from supermarkets. The staff are great - tell me exactly how to cook it! For a very basic and amateurish cook, this is priceless! My friend and I love having tea and cake in the tea room which opened relatively recently. Fresh locally made scones and cakes - my mouth is watering now! The best is I can walk to it from my house. Fabulous on a sunny day.

What a hidden gem. Limited menu of delicious plain home cooking. Loved it here. Staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Very reasonable prices too. Well worth a visit. The only suggestion to improve would be a few more toilets.

took my wife and mother in law for a coffee and snack this Saturday lunch, Called in as its local and we really should go more often but having pleased my mother in law with this visit I am sure we will. Two teas and a great coffee, two soups, crusty bread and fresh farm butter, a lamb hot pot with veg, bread and butter and all for under £20, what fantastic value.

We stopped off here as we have passed numerous times before on our way elsewhere but, today our usual was exceptionally busy and so we came away. How pleasantly surprised we were to find that this little gem is equally as good. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff, excellent food and a proper cup of tea! I'm not sure if it is dog friendly as I forgot to ask. That's just an excuse to go back.

I’ve been there for the first time with my girlfriend for breakfast in June 2016 and we’ve been going back regularly ever since. This is such an authentic little place in the countryside, they are a real farm that opens 3 times a week to serve food and sell their products in a very homemade kind of approach. Coming from another country I actually feel lucky that a place like that still exists so big city boys like me get to experience eating genuine farm food in a real farm, with cows, chicken and sheep just outside. Before going there I’d have only seen places like that in films. I’ve seen many overpriced restaurants trying to emulate what they do in here as the real deal. Every time I go there I make sure I buy from their shop some real Lancashire cheese and good meats to cook at home during the week. The menu at the tea room always changes so I never know what I’m going to eat until I get there, and I never been disappointed.

Only thing I would like to see is better opening times as I’d like to take the kids straight from school at 4pm and it’s always closed! Otherwise, this place does amazing food and it’s great to be able to take the kids for a nice healthy meal. Why do some restaurants think that kids want nuggets and burgers? My kids love this place and it suits them both as one eats meat and the other is a vegetarian.
