First visit I went with my partner and child during half term. The restaurant only had three tables including ours, so it was very quiet for a lunch time service so we expected quick service.. We only ordered three mains and a side of garlic bread. it took over 45minutes to get the food. Unfortunately after having high hopes for the meal, it really wasn't amazing for the wait. Chicken in the tacos was dry and burnt, not much flavour at all… cheese on the garlic bread was burnt and the bread was hard. Partner wasn’t overly keen on his burger and pretty much left it. We were running late after having to wait so long so we couldn’t be bothered to complain. But unfortunately after this we won’t return. Such a shame as it could have been a lot better.

Was looking forward to some fish and chips and only realised the Strawberry Pig was under new management when I arrived. I read the reviews whilst waiting and wondered if I would be disappointed with my food. I wasn’t. It was beautiful. I hope the business does well.

Pulled over here to check directions and got yelled at by the person living upstairs about the car park being closed and they slammed the door before I could even answer. We did plan on coming for a drink on our way back through but didn't bother.

Great food from this quirky little gem of a town centre cafe. There’s no rush here to get you out they even have table games like connect four to keep you busy. They don’t do hot meals but rather tasty sandwiches with generous portions of content. The milk shakes are so so good made with fresh milk and ice cream. Highly recommended 10/10.

Accommodation good. Room clean, tidy and a nice room. Even though we were told the room was due for refurbishment when we asked for an extension to be able to charge our phones. Food was good. The only thing we felt let it down was the Yorkshire pudding with the roast, it was very dry All staff were excellent, attentive and very approachable

Amazing food beautiful surroundings. Lovely little beer garden outside. Staff were great. Place has quite a bit of history too! Even pleased the mother-in-law! We WILL back **Update** The mother-in-law insisted we went again and I'm really glad we did. Both food and service were excellent. This will be our go to restaurant when we're in the area! (This place should be known further afield maybe it is and I'm a neanderthal.)

Stayed the night of Friday 8th November in room 6. The room, as with the bathroom, was truly disappointing, not so much tired as exhausted. Yes, the hotel is a magnificent graded one listed buliding, more than 400 years old, yet the room and its furnishings neither reflected that age or attempted to be of today. The water in the bathroom tap was too hot to touch, while the water in the bath was at best tepid. There was a remoteness and a lack of welcome to the service we received both at reception and in the restaurant. All in all, our visit was disappointing, while our visit to Nantwich was great.

We went for a lovely meal Tuesday night. Very nice atmosphere with 2 very helpful charming staff. We had 2 pints of carling and a pint of madri i had the 8oz rump steak medium rare cooked to perfection with a tasty blue cheese sauce. My partner had a Thai green curry with half rice and half chips that she really enjoyed. At just under £45 it was well worth the price and will look forward to returning.
