Excellent food and service at a good price.

This authentic Italian restaurant, operated by a group of young Italian friends, offers a culinary journey through the diverse flavors of Italy, from the northern regions to the southern coasts. The exquisitely crafted aperitivi and indulgent desserts are a testament to their dedication to quality. It remains one of my all-time favorites and is an absolute must-visit. Take the time to explore the various wines, you will not be disappointed.

Been there for pre wedding family dinner. Food was absolutely delicious, my fish was perfect, sauce with it was perfect so as spinach. And a cheesecake with pistachio was yum, bellisimo

I have never had a worse Italian in my life, avoid it all costs

A mixed dinner for us. The food was excellent as were the drinks. No problem and very happy with that. The service was good when at our table. Polite. Not over friendly but in no way a problem. Price was fine for me, it was less than I expected. The negative for us was what went on away from the table. There seemed to be needless fussing around the tables close to us while we ate and talked. I`m sure we were the last customers of the day so not necessary. There was loud conversation and laughing from the staff at the bar area, which put a downer on the atmosphere. A shame really as the easiest thing to get right was the one that let the evening down.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Alsager. The service is outstanding! The staff try to do their best to make you feel comfortable and relaxed all the time. The food is absolutely incredible. Everything we tasted was made by the hand of God🖐️. Absolutely the best meal we have ever had in the area. Highly recommended! 10 of 10.

Amazing food, amazing staff! Looking forward to coming back

First visit to L’ulivo since the Romazzino changeover. Overall, an enjoyable evening was had with friends, but a few comments below. Positives: Excellent service from friendly and attentive staff. Good atmosphere with Italian music and great ambience. Tasty food, particularly the burrata. Negatives: Prices are definitely too high for the small portion sizes. Our friends had a side of fries which were £5 for no more than a handful on a small side plate. These should either be half the price or twice the portion size. Same for my carbonara, which I regularly had at Romazzino. It was a small portion which cost £13.50 and an additional £4 for a few chunks of chicken. Finally, pasta and risotto should be served in a deep pasta bowl, my wife’s risotto, whilst tasting good, would have looked far better presented in a bowl rather than spread over a plate. No issue with the taste of the food. Very authentic and enjoyable, the 3* rating is due to presentation and value. Very pleased to see this restaurant still operational in Alsager as it’s a great spot, and we will be back, but there just needs to be a couple of tweaks.

Visited here on 03/11/2023. The food was amazing, piping hot and very delicious. We had three courses and chose two from the specials menu, we enjoyed all three courses very much. The service from staff was second to none and they were very attentive. We would highly recommend to others and will be back to visit again very soon. Thanks again.

Do not got here if you have any kind of dietry restrictions. I went and said i had a soya allergy, they said no problem. Starter was ok, but they removed items from the plate with out informing me before hand. I asked what i could have for mains and they said steak or fish. Cool i though i could have those meals. No i was wrong. I ordered the steak expecting a meal. Instead i was given a slab of meat and eighth of a lettuce head chopped up and a tomato just cut into eight parts. This was a £37 meal. I told them i didnt want this as its not worth that amount of money. They came back with the meat and a spoon of over cooked spinach. Awful again. I tried to send it back but the wait staff didnt except that. Told them it wasnt going to be payed for. By the time the bill came it was still on there. Had to complain again to get it removed. I ended up getting take away elsewhere.

Had a good experience on a Friday night . Had the mussels for starter : not as hot temperature wise as I was expecting but nonethess very tasty and fresh , followed by the burrata pizza : I love burrata and it was a good surprise to be able to find it on the menu . They had run out of tiramisu but instead suggested what looked like a sneaker bar with salted caramel , filled with a very tasty mousse . Other party members had the carbonara pasta which for once , didn't contain a creamy sauce, which was a very good point , as that's how it should be .None of the 8 party member had anything bad to say about their dishes . All in all, a very good place that I would not hesitate to recommend and to return to. Service was attentive a'd the staff very friendly .

Great food and fair service but £9 for the cheapest (and pretty poor) glass of red (175 ml is largest you can order!) felt like ‘a rip’

Previously attended on a weekend evening and the food/service was excellent. Tried the Sunday £15 for 2 courses for the first time. Service was attentive and excellent, the food was average at best - had the hall marks of being reheated from the previous night. Wouldn’t attend again at that time/offer.

Excellent Italian food - pizza was delicious, other dishes were good too. Their focaccia bread was more like plain garlic bread which was a bit strange, unless the wrong dish was given. Cocktails were good but a LOT of ice and not quite enough drink! Fair price though.

Visited at lunchtime with family , had a starter of cheese and tomatoes that was fine, but Then you can't really get that wrong !! . I chose chicken! Which i had to leave it was slimey in texture and had an odd taste. i told the waiter who shrugged his shoulders and did nothing , the pizza my partner had was OK, but then it was only cheese and tomato all be it having a slightly soggy middle I had 2 bottles of water at a cost of £10.00 totally overpriced would not recommend total meal price £70.00 with 1 x small glass of wine no desserts!! So, for a cheap lunchtime treat, it was not.

Visited at the weekend and tbough the staff were super friendly, the food wasn't what I've experienced at other restaurants - food bland and seemingly sacrificed for the pretentious presentation. The room was clean, just not very authentic with random background music. Don't mind expensive meals (and this was very much so), if the experience is something you'll remember - sadly, I won't be visiting here again.

No idea where these other reviewers are eating, but I'm sure it's not the same place I've just ate. Firstly, the atmosphere, no background Italian music, organ music..... felt like I was at a funeral. Then the food.... this is NOT authentic Italian. We've been to Venice, Rome, Florence and Pisa. And the food is completely different. My food was just coated with lashings of oil and no flavour. Now I know Italian food can be oily, but not the main ingredient. Really poor Vegan options. Won't be returning.

I have to say this is a true hidden gem. Everything was so tasty, it was one of the best Italians I have ever had - even compared to the times when I was on holiday in Italy! The pasta was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Incredible value for money, service was very friendly as well! I would be a regular if I lived in the town!

Best Italian restaurant by far, not even in Manchester you can find anything similar! Emilio, one of the owner just amazing on the floor and the chef, is one to watch!

Amazing pizza. The dough and the tomato are unmistakably Italian. Authentic and delicious! Excellent vegan starter, mains and desert. Emilio was great, 5 stars!

Ce petit restaurant sympa dans la charmante bourgade d'Alsager nous a permis de faire une pause lors d'un bouchon sur la M6. La carte est variée et présente de nombreux choix aussi bien pour les vegans que les omnivores. Les quantités sont honnêtes et les plats sont de bonne facture. Merci à l'équipe pour ce moment convivial passé ensemble. Vous pouvez sans hésiter vous y arrêter après avoir fait le plein de titine à la station Shell non loin d'Alsager.

The young Italian owners are a breath of fresh air. Every now and then, Lorenzo will play his guitar and sing to the guests while they eat. I have never had a bad meal there, and we are made to feel like family. If you haven't visited there, you should. You will not be disappointed.

After visiting Italy and focusing mainly on food I must say L'Ulivo does great job in bringing falvours and taste from your homeland! You even overtake restaurants from Italy! Unbelivable :)

Great evening, delicious food, good wines

I did not complain at the time of the meal to avoid awkwardness at a family event, which was to celebrate my 30th birthday and to avoid further delay. I have emailed the restaurant with my experience, with no reply. I am just disappointed, as this was to celebrate a milestone birthday. In December 2021, my family and I arrived at L'ulvio at 8pm. This was a party of 7 people. We were patient with the initial wait for the table and I understood certain drinks being out of stock. However, the 20 minute wait to order drinks, further 15 minute wait to order food, followed by a lengthy wait for the starter and for the main to be served at 9:30pm, was ridiculous. Especially, as waiters kept asking if we wanted to buy more drinks and didn't even apologise, or manage expectations, when we said we were hungry and said we would like to eat dinner. At 8:52pm, my partner noticed the feedback email and text requests, that were received at 8:14pm before we had even sat down. We actually finished at 10pm, my family had further 30 mins travel time on top of that, including my mother who had to work the following day. We had to skip the traditional blowing out the candles on the cake, as I just wanted to get home. I understand that Saturday night for a new business could be busy, but the time it took for 2 courses and drinks was not acceptable. Now onto the quality of the food, I can at least say that the people who ordered meat or fish dishes were happy. However, the vegetarian food was inferior to the last time we visited in Romazzinos. The Ciambotta was insubstantial, considering the wait that we had, and was bland. The Margherita pizza was so salty, I had to give up on it, which is very odd, given that a Margherita normally focuses on a tomato and basil flavours with the creamy texture of the cheese. It was also quite oily. The mixed vegetable and cheese pizza was bland and did not include the artichoke mentioned. Funnily enough, none of the Front of House staff asked us if we were happy with the main meal. On a side note, serving 1 small bottle of tap water with glasses that are suitable for tea lights to a table of 7 people, is not practical. I understand the need to sell drinks, but unhappy customers don't want to spend more money.

Celebrated here and enjoyed a great atmosphere. The food is quite rich, and on busy nights the service can be slow.

A really enjoyable meal from the early bird menu. The new cocktail selections were excellent and we really enjoyed every one of our 3 courses, the tiramisu was tasty!

Nibbles, pasta, risotto, sides and cocktails - everything we ate and drink here was beautiful. We are already planning our next visit snd cannot wait to try the gorgeous desserts! Massive thank you to all the staff whose service was attentive, so polite and made a really great impression for our first visit. We will definitely be returning and recommending!

Excellent Italian food. Equals and surpasses Romazzino which previously occupied this site. Ambitious and successful menu, top quality wine list, warm service. Highly recommended.

We booked an early slot, the restaurant was empty on arrival but soon filled with diners. The professional waiters were polite, helpful and cheerful throughout, advising on wines and recommending cocktails. The food was very good, the wine was chilled and we had a lovely time. We would have liked some festive decoration but that's the only thing that the restaurant lacked, maybe we were too early? Now under a new name and management the place still has excellent food, service and charm. Thank you.

The restaurant played the same track for the duration of our visit and it grated (80's sounding saxophone). There was evidently a problem with the lights dipping, it was enough to give someone epilepsy. The food was average. However, the service and attention to detail was seriously lacking. No napkins after starters. No cutlery for dessert. The music was too loud and people had to talk loudly to talk over it. A disappointing visit not to be repeated. 🥴
