We went for a light lunch with visiting family. The old pub dining room has been turned into a light and airy Coffee Shop which is exquisitely decorated and furnished. After a brief visit to the pop-up pub we made ourselves comfortable and ordered light lunches. The food was of excellent quality with simply tasty dishes prepared very well. We had Eggs Benedict, a Club Sandwich, Fish finger Sandwich, and a Cheese Toastie which were all well received. We had one of the luscious Cakes & Coffee’s to follow. My brother in Law even took a slice home. The staff are friendly and welcoming and give their best to make it a memorable experience. As a regular of The Bhurtpore for over 10 years I was favourably surprised and impressed, as Coffee Shops are not my thing. Well done to all involved. Roll on the pub opening!

Shop side has good range of local products and luxury additions - cafe nicely laid out and welcoming. Wine & beer available. We had a late sandwich lunch - Brie & bacon was well filled and beautifully melting. Roast beef sandwiches were tasty and had epic horseradish and piquant crunchy salad on the side.

We have just had the most wonderful experience at our new favourite pub! Called in on the hop just to get a bite and check it out. Wonderful setting, interior and exterior absolutely beautiful. Staff were wonderful. Quick, really polite and attentive. Food-great selections available on menu. We had Caesar salad and the monkfish. It was first class. Really beautifully cooked and presented. Wine also very nice. Would have probably stayed longer but the annoying scousers complaining put us off! Not your fault the swan, we’ll be back!

Amazing food beautiful surroundings. Lovely little beer garden outside. Staff were great. Place has quite a bit of history too! Even pleased the mother-in-law! We WILL back **Update** The mother-in-law insisted we went again and I'm really glad we did. Both food and service were excellent. This will be our go to restaurant when we're in the area! (This place should be known further afield maybe it is and I'm a neanderthal.)

It was ok, over priced and a taxi too it means I probably won’t go again unless it is a birthday location or something. The menu has barely changed for years, they are pricing themselves amongst the likes of The Broughton in Crewe which is by far nicer. My burger was £22 with salt and pepper fries and it was nothing special, the cocktails are nice though. 2 courses, 2 cocktails and a taxi split between 3 people from Crewe is £80 a head. The place was mostly empty and I can see why.

The restaurant was an old primary school adapted tastefully to an excellent restaurant. We were a party of 12 visiting after a local Christmas walk. The first impression of our table was mixed, as the tables were not set out / laid out for a meal. It would have enhanced our visit if it was set out with cutlery and crackers etc. The meals were acceptable with everything on the plate. I had a chocolate and orange sweet (hot) with ice cream. By the time the cutlery had arrived - the ice cream had started to melt! Access around the table was somewhat hindered. On the whole, the meals were satisfactory - and everyone enjoyed the experience.

Went for dinner but found that there was a Wake going on at the pub. Reassured by bar staff that we weren’t in the way and it was business as usual. Ordered drinks and food at the bar before we realised that the wake attendees were getting more and more drunk; shouting, shrieking, banging the table, swearing and making everyone’s evening quite awful. We thought the manager, who was adding to the cacophony by regularly throwing wine bottles into a bin, would intervene, but it appeared his colleague was actually sitting with the loudest of the drunken mourners. The food arrived. Tepid, tasteless, expensive fish on a cold plate- Matching the temperature of the pub ( we kept our coats on) We ate and left as quickly as possible, never to return. I have told as many friends as I can to avoid this absolutely dreadful place.

Great service from the team and a really lovely view out of the castle window whilst having breakfast. However, the food was awful. We had a full English breakfast and everything was just bland, the bacon was overcooked and the sausage was pitiful, the bread was also incredibly thin. It tasted as it if were made using super cheap products as opposed to the locally sourced farm referenced. We’re incredibly surprised and equally disappointed. In addition, as I hardly ate my breakfast I went to check out the pastries which were overcooked …… or burnt.
