The best restaurants in Carlisle North West

Had my wife's 50th Birthday party here lovely venue we brought our own food and entertainment great location lovely venue for around 40 people Staff were wonderful drinks reasonably priced. Wife loved it 😄

I had an hour in which to eat so wasn't interested in anywhere with a waiting list or that needed a booking, nor anywhere where the prices were upped because of posh decor and "in place" popularity - and there are a few like that in Carlisle! This looked under-appreciated and although I had only a quickly prepared basic Rogan Josh/Pilau Rice and Aloo Gobi dish, all was well cooked and well presented, no complaints anywhere and - a nice touch - the table linen was very high quality and swiftly renewed as soon as guests departed.

Great takeaway after recently opening up again after a few years being closed. Had a few meals from there over last few weeks. I always collect and it’s good to see your food being made in front of you in the new enlarged kitchen. Keep it up

Don’t bother with delivery! Was told on the phone it would take 1hr 20 (which is a pretty long time to begin with, but we were happy to wait) 2 hours passed and each time we called we got another ‘Oh they’re on the way 5/10 mins’ at this point we were starving and it was very late. Food was average and the service has been like this for years and they don’t seem to try and improve it as you can see from many other reviews

They have such a great variety. We ordered several different ones to try them all. The owner was great dealing with the crowd that he had, plus to-go orders

The pub is located in the heart of a pretty village.We had a very comfortable room with excellent food - a great location for a weekend away.

Bland and uninspiring. Expensive too. Used to be excellent when small portions were offered for a good price and you could have a few to make a tasty lunch. Lasagne I had was just mush with no discernible layers of pasta and very bland. Items have been dropped from the menu, but the the menu has not been reprinted, so when you order you are told, “we don’t do that anymore” well, reprint the up to date menu then!

Went in for a birthday surprise meal, the staff are polite and welcoming. The food was lovely I wish I had taken a picture as the portion size and quality are well worth the money. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. I will definitely be returning in the future.

My go to spot for food when waiting between trains. Fast service good nosh, tidy. Two things to note mind. Service in store is cash only can order to collect via food hub tho.

Best in carlisle by a mile prices reflect this but rightly so would rather pay a tiny bit more for better quality

Can not fault the food and beverage. Particular shout out to the Brazilian Steak Skewers. A wide range of food, including Mexican and Tapas. Will definitely be back!!
