Another "white Indian" restaurant. Stopped by this place based on 4+ reviews. It's called Indian but may please only those who don't know Indian food much. Food was either sweet like sugar or tasteless. Naans too thick. Crew was nice and hospitable, but I'm afraid I can't call the food even close to Indian flavour.

I had the chicken fat with veins bhuna, was delicious. Of course I'm being sarcastic..won't be back unfortunately been coming here for years, but the last 3 times have been a let down with the meat that it's completely put us off. Shame really..maybe it's changed hands..I don't know but its not as good as it once was.

Best Indian takeaway in the town never had a bad one!! We get one every Sunday and honestly it’s delicious!

Plesently surprised with this takeaway...really enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Madras...plenty of flavour and a good texture ...will defo be back and try a different curry...

Just ordered, girl was lovely straight forward, took my card details , paid for it , no bother. No send you a link and all the other bull.

Waited 2.5hrs for a delivery & then I cancelled it. I want my food at tea time, not at bedtime. I could of literally driven to Newcastle & back in the time it took them to drive 1 mile. Heard the oh its 5 mins away way too many times to ever fall for it. I can't comment about the food quality as it was my 1st & likely last delivery order. I just wish I'd read the reviews before wasting an evening waiting in. At £16.85 for a veg masala, boiled rice, cheese nan I wouldn't say it was particularly cheap either. A treat, or should of been.

Went to chutneys tonight I only went for a portion of chips but I found the young lad behind counter very polite and the chips came very fast and were hot when I walked home and were very nice and not the normal tasteless chips they seemed to be better quality next time I might taste some of there Indian food.

Great food! We ordered in advance and the meals were ready when we arrived to collect.

Ordered food at 18:50 for delivery & was told it would be an hour. Rang at 20:40 & asked where it was & was told it was 5 minutes away, no apology. The food then didn’t arrive until 21:00 & was cold.

Best Indian food I've had in years. I won't go anywhere else for it in Carlisle now. Everything was just beautiful. The chicken was out of this world, it just fell apart as you cut into it, absolutely delicious.

New to Carlise and my grandaughter introduced me to Chutneys. Apart from waiting nearly 2 hours. Wen it came a wasn't disappointed . The prawn madras was amazing. Compliments to the Chef. Unless you dissapoint me Mr Chutney. I won't be going anywhere else.🙂😇

When the owner is away the standard off food drop the take away is very oily but the food not that good has I say when owner is cooking it is very good and not oily I would have given more stars I always given 5* before the owner went away

Having had a meal recently I decided that Chutney's would be my go to place for a takeaway for 12 for a special birthday celebration. I was not disappointed the food, which was delivered to my home, was great and everyone enjoyed it. Great service from Naz and the team at Chutneys.

Enjoyed a lovely meal tonight. Great food, great friendly service and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a curry to try this place.

We ordered a family meal on Boxing Day from chutneys to be delivered. On arrival it was piping hot and very tasty we all enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend

Absolutely one of the nicest take away I’ve eaten. Food hot when it arrived and order fully correct. It was a little late but delivery driver could not find us. We do live in a small village, this often happens. He contacted us to get directions so soon sorted. Will definitely use this take away again . 👍😊

1st time last weekend using chutneys and it was amazing,husband said it was the best indian around and he would know cos hes from indian background...defo be ordering again....

Shocking customer service avoid at all cost there ok if ordering if something goes wrong expect a mouthful of bad attitude food ok ... Bari is far nicer though

My first time trying and I always test a new place out with a Bhuna Chicken. Couldn't fault. Saved half for next day and was better but that's true of most curries. Pulao rice was good, tikka starter excellent. Overall very pleased and this could become my favourite place. Came in 'old skool' tinfoil trays which I really like for a proper takeaway experience! Superb!!

I telephoned my order.The food was ready as promised for collection. On getting it home it was the most fantastic biriyani I have had. Five stars, keep up the great service.

Food is delicious. Everytime, gorgeous food. Don't get it delivered though.Shame had to wait too long. Phoned at five to seven. I was told an hour. An hour and a half later, had to phone. Was told 15 more minutes. My bloody house is 3 minutes up the road. Not very good when we only ordered one meal. This review would be 5 star if it wasnt for the delivery service. Improved delivery is needed. They probably said 15 more minutes cause they had bloody forgot. Anyway 20 minutes after the phone call, food turns up puping hot. As if they hadnt forgot to make it until we phoned back. Wont stop me using them. Just wont get it delivered.

Got a delivery and the food was stone cold.Called to tell them and was a waste of time.They werent interested.No apologies.....nothing.

This used to be a very good Indian takeaway, but since people left and his wife started cooking also, I have to say the place has gone downhill. Where everything was tasty, e.g. vindaloo, Madras, etc, now everything is so tasteless. After adding salt and sugar to try and improve the currys several times, we have given up and now order from gurkha spice on London road. It is sad really as value for money and especially taste used to be brilliant. So not recommended anymore.

Dont bother. I did not get the food i ordered. Got 1 rice instead of 2 and mango chutney instead of raita. Plus my main dish consisted of 7 pieces floating in a tasteless sauce.

Overcharged on what I normally get. Food quality gone down. Was always the Indian I ordered from but will not be using again

Order food, was told it would be 45 mins. Waited 55 mins then rang and guy on phone said it would be another 5-10 mins. Waited 15 mins and rang again. It arrived 1hr 15 after I ordered, no apology from driver and no discount for it being late, he even tried to tell me I was lying that it wasn’t 1hr 15 when I ordered. They lost their tip, lost a customer but gained this cracking review!! Shame cos it was nice food!!

Rang at just after 7pm told it would be an hour and a half. Phoned after 2 hours to be told it would be another half hour. No apology no offer of a discount. Basically called a liar about how long I've been waiting but call log confirmed when I rang. Awful customer service. A real shame because the good from here has always been good. Probably won't use again

tried this for 1st time today as new to the area. we got sunday specials. the food was lovely and plenty of it. infact nicest indian we have had. will deff use them again and highly reccomend.

Really good tasty starters and curries, one of the best Indian takeaways I've used in Carlisle recently , decent portions , all the dishes have their individual flavours, the chicken tikka dansak is a favourite, the Sunday special is very good value, polite staff taking the phone orders , the only downside is it can take a long time to deliver , waited 2 hours one night after being told only an hour , if they sort the delivery time out, in my opinion the best quality Indian takeaway in Carlisle

i think i have a cwush on the man on the phone. my nany says the food was beautiful but i say the man on the phone was. i started to get a tingly feeling when i spokw the the man on the phone. the old delivewy man also gave me that tingly feeling as hwe was also beatiful. i thought when i went to the shop they would let me go up stairts ut they didnt so that upset me.

Never order a take away from here waited 2 hours told would be with us within 1 hour phoned 3times !!!!! I rang told them to put it where the sun doesn't shine. The manager was absolutely useless I would recommend Ghurka Spice

we have tried many indian takeaways but always come back to this one because their curries taste fantastic. only bad comment is low hygiene rating score which isn't encouraging but food has always been great

Utilizaba este lugar por 3 años. Con únicos problemas menores. Pero este problema importante me quitó una eternidad. 2 comidas eran stil no en la puerta después de 1 hora y 45 minutos. Tuve que hacer 3 llamadas de teléfono, sólo me dijeron que es en el camino. 20 minutos más tarde llegó, goteo de los contenedores. abrir la tapa el dupiaza y hacía frío ... al conductor en el tiempo trabajado en la cocina y me dijo que sólo podía ofrecer la comida 2 horas más tarde y fría las arreglaron para 4 libras más barato.
