Got a takeaway, arrived late. Chicken very chewy and the sauce was very watery. Best thing was the poppadoms.

Both curries very watery. Korma was not creamy and thick like we have had at all other curry restaurants. Mixed starter didn’t look appealing and bland with no juices.

First takeaway from Maharaj and it did not disappoint. Chicken Aghani, lemon rice and a chapati. Absolutely delicious curry, nicely spiced & very flavoursome all served piping hot. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his too- Chicken Nepalese with a cheese keema nan. Gave us complementary poppadoms and pickle too. Very friendly and fast service. Highly recommended 👌

comprehensive menu, most will find something they like, the order arrived quickly. What we like are the set menus that aren’t bad value. Food hot, What we weren’t sure of, was the curry sauces .. very very sweet, little flavour and meat overcooked, sad salad with popadom and dips.

Normally the food is amazing l, this time it had a sour taste to it. very disappointed.

Food was amazing, not a person in the house that wasn't happy which is a miracle in this household. Piping hot when it was delivered and even gave us a complimentary naan. Delivered bang on time too. Will definitely order again.

Terrible. 45 mins late for delivery so called and it hasn’t even left them. Asked for an incentive to use them again and got offered a free poppadom (after already ordering some). Won’t bother again

25 min later call to restaurant and they just told me they are just packing my order and will gona be delivered in next 20 min. So still waiting. Not happy At all. Cant tell about food quality.

The food tasted great and was delivered very quickly but the portion sizes were on the small side. The plastic tubs were about half full and the naan was about half the size of what other restaurants give.

food was cold, onion bhaji greasy and not nice at all. Delivery people from just eat are miserable and seem like they don't want to be at work. some of them are very rude and cheeky if door not answered straight away

Order arrived late but the food was great and would order from here again.

We stayed in the countryside near Carlisle and fancied a takeaway. I phoned The Maharaj but as we were in the middle of the countryside my phone signal kept dropping out. I got a text then saying I could order through text , I did. The food arrived and was excellent quality and portion size. The person at the end of the text was very helpful and the delivery driver was friendly and polite. We will definitely use them again when we are back in the area .

Asked for chicken shashlik. And they send me something that resembles chicken masala, without any taste.

Onion barjis lovely with fresh salad & tasty dips King prawns are so big ,fresh and juicy Dansak sauce delicious Madras nice & spicy Recommend garlic & cheese naan bread aswell. Poppadoms good size and so fresh with all the pickles… Will be ordering again very soon

BEST food we have had from a take away for years, big chunks of beautifully cooked chicken the flavours of the other dishes were wonderful and exactly what you would hope for when paying for food as a treat. We will be ordering again for sure.

Ordered numerous times just for the tandoori chicken wrap and never disappointed! Always piping hot, on time (or early), great quality and always generous portion size. A top favourite for sure!

Takeaway meal delivered quickly,everything still very hot. Food delicious onion barjis best I’ve ever had and king prawns wow wow wow….Never go anywhere where else as they never let us down. And now they do deserts even better the sundaes are amazing…. Lick it.😍

Absolutely disgusting! Worst Indian i have ever had! Masala was like water with ni taste at all! Chicken was dry over cooked and tasteless! Popidomes were yellow and the taste was like perfume! Absolutely waste of money

Working in the area and I will honestly say this is one of the best Indian curries I have experienced, I live in the north east (South Shields) have the best in our door step. I had garlic chicken and my husband had chicken madras with rice and chips, Very good quality meat and no oil to be hovering about. The most fresh door to door delivery and the best garlic and chilli nan I have ever tasted. Thankyou

10/10 for all their dishes I've tried so far!. For me though, the lamb Rogan Josh is the best I've ever had, the sauce is bang on and the lamb so tender and juicy. Absolutely amazing! Love it!

Ordered on Uber Eats, food was ready for us to collect. Good tikka massala, quite sweet but that's what you expect. We both ordered the meal for one but frankly there was so much food you could share it between two so I have to say it is excellent value for money.

The Maharaj, the food wasn't too bad, naan, madrs sauce, chicken biryani and chips, the chips were a let down as they were under cooked, abit longer and they would have been perfect, but not going to say avoid as i said the food wasn't too bad infact try it you may enjoy it. Too the driver, this is why i've given 3 stars, in hotels never leave the food in reception and then ring the customer to tell them you've left it there, you were about to do the same thing again when you were at the correct hotel, luckily i was stood outside and asked if you were from Maharaj, use ggogle maps or satnav, both hotels have different post codes, i know as i stayed at the one you delivered to first. Gripe over.
