Great place for relaxing family meal, excellent menu choice and great service. The butchers block and steak burger were amazing.
Will definitely visit again soon.

Great service, good selection of food prepared for you, well cooked and presented. A good breakfast menu available with plenty of choice.
Well worth a visit
Visited this lovely cafe this weekend, was met with a warm friendly welcome which brightened a damp, dull day,an excellent choice on menu and a fab choice of cakes very reasonable prices, nice cozy atmosphere with lots of interesting things around , if you’re visiting or staying in or around Keswick we would %100 say give this amazing cafe a visit.
What a little gem. Debbie the owner was so helpful- nothing was too much trouble. We had really tasty paninis with an imaginative salad garnish which included a balsamic dressing and pomegranite seeds- very fancy!
We had tea served in proper vintage china cups and saucer and it was a large tea pot so plenty of it.
There's lovely reupholstered vintage furniture and artwork for sale on the walls. Finishing off with a quirky library loo- utterly charming.
As Arnie would say- we'll be back!

The Ye Olde Greyhound Inn was recommended to us as a little gem of a pub.
I pre booked, which was a wise option. The place was very busy with three groups celebrating a 70th, 60th and a family get together.
The atmosphere was cosy, not loud, and the service was excellent, as was the food.
Good selection of beers to wet your taste buds.
Overall, it was an excellent evening meal, fully enjoyed by both of us, and our dog CJ, who found a nice warm place under the table to Snooze.
Fully recommend.

What a wonderful gem of a find! From the start the welcome was warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for Gary, Donna and their team; what a diamond they have found in Jack!
The quality of the furnishings is very high, the fittings top class and the home made biscuits in the bedroom were delicious! Even a welcome decanter of sherry to start off your stay! The hallway walls are adorned with award plaques from numerous organisations!
The grounds were extensive and very well kept. We had read about the wild red squirrels and hoped we may get to spot one - no fears there; we watched them running around the garden and feeder each day!
Now for the food! Absolutely excellent! Each evening started at 7pm with canapés and good conversation with fellow guests, most of whom seem to be repeat visitors, with good reason! Gary is very personable and quite the bon viveur, his knowledge of wine is excellent, after all by his own admission he has been in the game for a good number of years!
The four course dinner menu is set, no choices, but the menu is on display each morning and I'm sure that alternatives could be organised if enough notice were given. Each course was exquisite, served piping hot (where appropriate!) and presented beautifully, as was the table in general. Service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was just as good!
Hazel Bank has seven rooms and the restaurant is open only to residents. All this means that each guest gets very personal, and personable, service from start to finish! If you think that this review is a little enthusiastic then I doubt you've visited! Don't get me wrong, it isn't for everybody and nowhere is totally perfect, but Hazel Bank gets VERY close!
I said we would be back,my wife and I went for lunch today,we had mushrooms in blue Stilton sauce and pan fried wood pigeon to start, and then we both had the same for our main meal, which was Southern board, the whole meal was excellent as was the service,we are going back next Sunday for Sunday lunch, with some friends, see you then.
Gran relación calidad-precio maravillosas alitas de pollo y patatas fritas sucias! pero solo 7 mesas allí, así que necesitas reservar. . . bien vale la pena la visita. . ¡iremos de nuevo! @
I went with an elderly parent the staff were so absolutely lovely and friendly, allowed my mum to have a small portion for her lunch, the food was delicious and hot, would highly recommend the food and staff to everyone. Thank you
Thank you so much for making our meal for our 40th wedding anniversary with our friends so memorable.
The standard of food was superb and presentation exceptional, this was down to the dedication of the team in the kitchen and their mentors .
The service we received from the young man (clover) was outstanding and he should be rightly proud as the rest of the serving team and mentors should be.
£21 yes £21 for a three course restaurant meal and expirience.
When we are next up this way on holiday we shall most definately be booking a lunch and will recommend to our family and friends.
Finally a big thankyou for the marvellous cake which you presented to us. It was delicious and again a reflection of the superb team you have at the college including the your booking collegue.
So once again thank you ALL

Coffee and cake were the order of the day at this sweet little tearoom in Bowness. A scone and a piece of Victoria sponge with coffee together with some good conversation with the ladies who served us made for a very pleasant time. Situated in a pretty courtyard.
5 Stars! We ate here with our children during a short holiday in Silloth and absolutely loved it. The food was full of flavour and clearly made with care, even the sauces are homemade! Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned and delicioso, and our kids enjoyed it just as much as we did. The restaurant has a stylish, welcoming feel, and it’s such a shame we live so far away, if we were local, we'd be regulars for sure.
What an amazing experience. The setting is stunning, the food is magical and the whole ethos of sustainability surrounding The Cottage in the Wood is inspiring.
