Visited Keswick for my stag doo, fuelled the day every morning with a coffee and sausage roll from yonder. Both amazing! Best in town! The staff made us all laugh and had the best customer service. 100% recommend
Fantastic little club, with a great course and even better food. A warm welcome at the little gem. Green keepers clearly know what they are doing as the course is in great condition. And to top it off the food quality is a real treat thanks to the fabulous chef 👍
Our first visit to Rathlin Island and of course we availed of The Hungry Seal! The food was absolutely amazing, we were in chippy heaven. The chips are probably the best I've ever had and the battered sausages to die for! The other half had the haddock supper and claimed it was the best he's ever had. Decent portions, the price is up there but not much different than your average chippy to be fair. The girls were lovely and had the food ready in good time. We would take a trip back to the island just for another feed at the Hungry Seal lol 10/10 for us!

Excellent coffee at a reasonable price out of the back of a van in a great location. Owner was very friendly and helpful so no hesitation in recommending.
We ordered a hot chcolate and a mill shake. Both were top draw! And served by a really great friendly gentleman. A real gem, and utterly unpretentious. Wish we had found it sooner.
Nestled amongst woodland in close vicinity to bowling green & tennis courts.
The setting is very quaint, snack type menus were very good & service polite, friendly & quick.
A very enjoyable cafe, largely outdoors on a sunny day.
It will be our go to cafe.
PASSED THIS PLACE MANY TIMES AND ONLY RECENTLY WAS IT RECOMENDED SO WE GAVE IT A TRY AND THE ITALIAN MELT AND PERI PERI LEBANESE WRAP WERE VERY TASTY, FRIENDLY STAFF AND A LOVELY SET UP, WILL RETURN
Have eaten here several times now. Woodlands really is a hidden gem. Daryl really is an excellent chef and his food is outstanding. Whenever we stay locally, we try to visit. Give them a go and you won’t be disappointed!!
Great little micro pub, great atmosphere and nice to chat to the locals. We wandered in here after a visit to the Taggy Man for pies!
A lovely selection of craft beers, ciders and ales await and the staff and locals are a great bunch - all super friendly.
Many thanks!
Had a lovely meal a few Sunday ago with some friends, food was amazing but a big shout out 2 Jennifer who was working
Behind the bar and serving our meals
Fantastic hospitality from her and made us all feel welcome (a little jealous she gets 2 meet the players lol) would definitely recommend especially during covid times, will definitely pop in again
I stumbled across Scran after recently moving to Wigton, and I'm honestly so glad I did! Not only did the cater brilliantly for my vegetarian girlfriend, but the food and service we got was brilliant from start to finish. Furthermore, the fact that they emphasise all the ingredients come from the local area makes it an even better experience. Ultimately, it means you get lovely food, while at the same time supporting local businesses!
