Have eaten here several times now. Woodlands really is a hidden gem. Daryl really is an excellent chef and his food is outstanding. Whenever we stay locally, we try to visit. Give them a go and you won’t be disappointed!!

We have enjoyed dining at Woodlands on previous visits. With a birthday approaching, we wanted to enjoy a special meal to celebrate. So, we asked for just that, ‘please create a special meal for us’. Arriving at Woodlands we were full of anticipation not knowing what the evening would hold. We settled in the comfortable bar, chatting and sipping refreshing cocktails. It was great at setting a mood of relaxation. What came next was a surprise and indeed something special, very special. Darryl had crafted a menu of delights, 9 courses, carefully prepared for complementary flavours to delight the taste buds. The wine we chose from a selected list of good wines that enhanced the enjoyment. Each course, produced from fresh ingredients was a delight, we were impressed with the culinary skills that went into making such a special meal for our celebration. I can honestly say this puts Woodlands well at the top of local fine dining. A big Thank You to Team Woodlands.

Just returned from a fabulous three night break at Woodlands. The room was lovely with a really comfortable bed and everything you would need for your stay. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and all fresh cooked. The hotel is well situated to visit both the lakes and the coast and would definitely stay there again next time we are visiting the lakes. Highly recommended

We have enjoyed our meals at Woodlands, usually starting with cocktails in the bar. Always good food and good hosts in Naomi and Darryl. However, this was different, Darryl was asked to prepare an extra special meal for a celebration. Wow, we knew from the smile on his face that our meal would be well thought out, prepared from fresh locally sourced ingredients and delicious - we were right! We like surprises when eating out, always something different and to entice the taste buds. I won’t go into the meal itself, just to say that expectations were exceeded. This was a special meal for our celebration and accompanied by a fine wine from the select wine list. All said, a celebration and meal to remember. Thank you so much Darryl, Naomi and Team.

This small hotel restaurant is as different as it is interesting. Tip top food. Set 3 course meal £30, although the chef catered for my vegan partner. Proper chef patron and his wife, just like France. Beautifully cooked and presented meal. Home-made bread with starter. Great mild flavoured local venison for my main with local fresh vegetables. My partner had an artistically presented filo veggie dish and she loved it. Choice of several home made sweets. My rhubarb and ginger crumble couldn’t have been better. Definitely going back. Highly recommended.

This was our second visit to Woodland for dinner. The food was outstanding! We all really enjoyed it. Every course was delightful, and the wine recommendation was excellent. The attention to detail was great. We'll definitely be back and recommended this place to others.

Great little micro pub, great atmosphere and nice to chat to the locals. We wandered in here after a visit to the Taggy Man for pies! A lovely selection of craft beers, ciders and ales await and the staff and locals are a great bunch - all super friendly. Many thanks!

Such a lovely warm welcome from Ian, the server. He was so attentive throughout our time there. It is a limited menu but everything we had and we went twice in three days in Keswick, tasted great. There was three types of soup to choose from which came with different accompaniments, ie, sourdough toast, spicy chickpea bun ect. There was also a choice of about five different types of cake and I can highly recommend the ginger and raspberry with extra fruit compote. Note it's cash only and closed Sunday and Monday. Soon as we go back to Keswick we are going back to Chintys.

A lovely characterful food van and cafe - delicious! Space outside to sit and undercover tables too.

Called in here yesterday for a takeaway lunch, ham salad baguette. Lovely fresh ham and plenty of it, with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, coleslaw and mayonnaise with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Husband had a savoury tuna baguette with all the salad. Best baguette I have ever had!
