Lovely place. Good choice, good deals and nice staff. Well worth a visit. I would say the best place in Maryport, try the ice creams and the pies are lovely. Lots of choice and the Christmas afternoon tea is amazing!!!

We’ve been to Wrights a few times and every time is the same. Great home made food at a very reasonable price and quick efficient service. The range of food is wide and varied with nearly all of it freshly home made. Can’t fault the place

Visited this coffee shop a couple of days ago in awful weather and it was so nice to enter a warm and welcoming establishment. There is a variety of table arrangements to suit every taste. My husband had a soft drink and a cheese toastie which was lovely. I had a slice of cake and a mocha coffee. The cake was very unusual, a sort of cross between parkin and chocolate cake and was really nice. I'm very fussy about mocha coffees and this one was delicious which is not the case in every restaurant. The loos, although old fashioned, were clean with working hand dryers which again is not always the case in other places. It would be beneficial if they stocked diet coke/pepsi but that's me being picky. A great visit and if I'm ever in the area again I would have no hesitation in eating here again.

Came upon this cafe after walk though high street, and finding very little that was appetising. This cafe was absolutely brilliant- welcoming and allowed dogs too! The choice of menu was wide and they served delicious coffee, all at very reasonable prices. Large enough if you were in a big group, but had smaller tables too. Lovely atmosphere and will become a real hit with both locals and tourists alike. Although we were not having the afternoon tea, it looked great and amazing value. Our own lunch was served with a large salad. Very impressed. Also, very quick and very efficient service. Will be back.

Called with family earlier this week and ordered various items from their menu board. We were served promptly and everything looked fabulous until I stated to eat the scone that I had ordered, it wasn't great, the scone itself was very dense and I struggled to cut it in half. I asked the young girl if she could pop it in the microwave for a few seconds as heat usually opens up the texture. It certainly felt better when it came back and I managed to slice it in half, but the texture hadn't altered when I came to eat it, I had to put twice as much butter & jam on it to make more pallet-able, (if the scones are home made then they need to change the scone mixture supplier). We will definitely go back again in the future, but will look to stay clear of the scones.

Our first visit to Rathlin Island and of course we availed of The Hungry Seal! The food was absolutely amazing, we were in chippy heaven. The chips are probably the best I've ever had and the battered sausages to die for! The other half had the haddock supper and claimed it was the best he's ever had. Decent portions, the price is up there but not much different than your average chippy to be fair. The girls were lovely and had the food ready in good time. We would take a trip back to the island just for another feed at the Hungry Seal lol 10/10 for us! (Not my picture, found in Google search)

Absolutely loved the bakery! Extremely friendly shop owner, and even had a gluten free option which was much appreciated! I would highly recommend this bakery, and will definitely be revisiting next time I visit Keswick!

... indeed they do! Imagine taking a rare 300+ mile journey to revisit your childhood memories, including that of the pub that you were born in. Imagine turning up at the said establishment, full of excitement and anticipation only to be shouted at "You can't park here, I'm expecting people for Sunday Lunch" - maybe the Landlord was psychic and knew we weren't his intended visitors, or he only serves his local clientele with charm? Imagine then trying to hold a conversation with said Landlord about the past, who clearly wasn't interested, simply citing "things change". Indeed they do... just not always for the better... as evidenced at The Bush (previous name, from back in (much) better times.
