The best restaurants in Washington West Sunderland North East

Really loved the food here and took husband last week. Convinced him to get Spanish eggs as friend always gets them and look lovely with a big portion which makes husband happy. Was disappointed on this visit. Portion a lot smaller. Less bread and he said there was not much black pudding in it. Definitely not the same as previous visits which has put me off as it’s a travel for us to visit.

Very convenient for anyone travelling on A1. Although located in an industrial estate, this is anything but industrial. The tea room is beautifully decorated and gives you a feeling of Alice in Wonderland tea party. The food is great and fresh. We will certainly be visiting here again!

Very nice idea of ​​inviting Mercure customers on Monday and Tuesday evening for an after work. But the setting is a bit sad. In comparison, the bar at the Novotel Birmingham airport has a nicer decor!

refused to give 50 pounds they took, paid extra for bouncers that just ate all the food and did nothing, when asked for the 50 quid back the woman in charge shouted and humiliated my sister. tried to blame us for breaking the toilet seat even though pictures were took before of it being broken. this place really disappointed me and my family and all the woman did who was in charge was complain and have an attitude towards my family. still havent been given the money back.

We booked Cater & Fitch for our Christmas meal for work, mainly because they are one of the few restaurants in the area to provide a good range of gluten free menu choices. Booking was extremely easy as the staff were very helpful. Car parking was very good as there are large car parks. There is a good range of choice on the menu and our staff were very happy with the choices. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were all sat together as a group. There were 11 of us. Everyone enjoyed their meal and several of our staff have said that they will go back there to eat. There was a Christmas Party night on in the hotel, so it was busy but the staff had helped us to pre-order our menu choices and drinks. There was a very short delay in the starter being served, which we didn't mind as we were enjoying chatting to each other, but the Manager brought us some complementary snacks which were really nice. Everything was served nicely, table service was excellent, staff pleasant and it was a lovely evening. Thank you!

First time here, I had a beautiful hot beef baguette & roasties, beef was very tender & ample, roasties were lovely & proper beef gravy, my friend had chicken dinner, plenty veg, very fresh, lovely girls & very fast service, will definitely return. Dog friendly & the girls fed him pork & beef, one hapoy boy.

This is a hidden gem . The staff excellent and if we go out large group they organised the table for us value for money
