The best restaurants in Washington North Sunderland North East

After an atrocious meal June2023q and avoiding it throughout 2 further holidays After being put off. We read more mixed reviews and decided to give it a try again we have so many happy memories in this pub. What a difference. Happy welcoming staff, clean and best of all probably the best steak and ale pie I have had for a long time. Packed full of meat very good gravy. Well presented delicious. Looking around at what others were having it seems popular again. Great job

Was up washington over the weekend to see family, we stayed in a hotel in Washington. I found this place as I was driving around.. Jeez it's changed in the last 4 years. I got a mixed donna wrap and a burger.. Couldn't fault it.. It was as thick as my forearm 😳. Then on the Sunday I got a kebab wrap and a 12 inch veg pizza.. Both were really nice. When I'm back up again I will definitely be at hot bites again. The guys were really nice to chat to. You need to open a shop in Northampton 👍👍

Beautiful food tasty and cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly always smiling the service was second to none. Our waitress Emily could not do enough for us. Highly reccomend.

Absolutely awful. Salad was old wilted and brown. Curry watery and nan soggy. This used to be THE curry house in Washington but it was beyond poor.

We always use Hong Kong as it’s at the end of the road, but have been disappointed the last couple of times. Tonight’s chow mein had no sauce and not much taste and the crispy noodles were literally deep fried egg noodles. Nothing on them. Salt and pepper chicken was still really good tho. Very disappointed.

Much better than donwell chippy "our local" The kebabs are spot on the owner isnt a Pakistani with cheap tatties and poor old cooking oil...click gets our vote.

Food amazing as always but delivery man kicks gate (caught on camera) then leaves gate open even though we have a dog and was 5 minutes late

They sent us the wrong order. The house special curry was a house special with beansprouts in a tasteless sauce. The ribs were very dry and overcooked and the bbq sauce was again bland? So disappointed.

Enjoyed this place every time I come here. I've had everything from stake to burger and enjoy it every time.😋

I was led to believe the fish shop was taken over by the chap that had fish shop Donwell ..i have just been & got fish bites & chips ..i am so sorry but they were disgusting chips cold & fish bits 2 out of 3 was dry ...i used to go to Donwell chippy they were perfect so don't know what happened..at Gillies so sorry..so hope if i do go back be better ..my friend had fish & chios from you the other day said they were lovely ..so sorry don 't know what happened to our tonight so so disapointed.....
