Shopna Tandoori in Sunderland

Food amazing as always but delivery man kicks gate (caught on camera) then leaves gate open even though we have a dog and was 5 minutes late

Food was great but delivery was over 2 hours. Was so late by the time it turned up we ended up binning most of it.

The curry was very bland and watery didn’t have much taste to it at all

fast delivery, arrived piping hot, perfect as always..

33.50 pounds spent here. What a waste of money. Would not recommend this place to anyone. 4 pieces of meat per main course. Microwave pinging in the background.

Had a rogan josh tasted nothing like it should 4 pieces of meat in all dishes we had 3 meals heard alot of microwave ping whilst wait please do not use

Not impressed. Food took over 1.5hours from order too arrive and was late based on 2 different given times. Food was stone cold by the time it arrived

food perfect apparently from the poppadoms were soggy otherwise I would of gave a 5 star

1st home delivery after Recommend . 1 hour of total food heaven total whow best starter ( apart from the egg rap ) then the curry and rice and p /dom ': organism taste ! (Enough said)

This isn’t the first time I’ve ordered from Shopna. We love the food they serve here. I’m leaving my first review because of how much we enjoy the food. Everything is fab. The delivery is always speedy. The interactions I’ve had with the shop and drivers have always been professional and polite. It’s reasonably priced and always freshly cooked. Exceptional service and I felt that it needed pointing out. Thanks

Forst time ordering, and it was gorgeous, probably one of the best Indian take aways I have had. ordered the Chicken Shaslik, loads of chicken and the sauce was amazing. Will 100% be ordering again 🙂

They seem to have had their ups and downs over the years; indeed we have had the occasional glitch. However, we now use them fairly regularly and on the whole, standards and good and the food is tasty. You can ask them to do the food as you want it, to suit your palate. The Tandoori Chicken Stir Fry, is particularly good.

Food was very nice however delivery was shocking took 1 hour and 40 minutes to arrive. I will be ordering again but if the delivery is just as bad it will be the last.

Worst I’ve ever seen really really bad all I could taste was sugar no spice or anything in it was like a tin of tomato’s with a bag of sugar in it full of food dye so bad it went straight in the bin never again absolute rubbish avoid at all cost literally money down the drain🤮

Usually good scran from here but I ordered a bhuna and it's easily the most tasteless and bland curry I've ever eaten. Pure cack

Great food and a fantastic selection of food. The lamb bhuna was really good, as was the chicken vindaloo. Nice selection of sauces and poppadoms. Will definitely come back again.

Tasty as ever but the Jalfrezi was a bit too salty. Keema Naan was superb, as was the Tandoori stir fry. Delivery excellent.

Delivered cold by Uber Eats, swimming in oil, overcooked starter. Not as described on the menu. Disgusting.

After trying a few new trendy Indians and not being very impressed we decided to order again from the Shopna. Ordered 1 banquet meal plus a beef madras curry. We are not huge eaters but there was enough food for us to have a second meal the next day. Food was lovely and it was ready on time. Will use these again .

I had a message saying delivery was going to be delayed and estimated time was 20:40 but turned up 20 minutes late and delivery driver is miserable and also kicks gate to open plus never closes it when he leaves

Excellent quality food, fast delivery and best price around. when it comes to Curry night we'll be using this place all the time from now on.

Delicious food though cashew nut rice should be exactly that, not peanut. This could be very dangerous for someone with a specific peanut allergy.

Food was lovely, order was missing naan bread however.

We go here when we want a takeaway at work, it's really nice and authentic. Sometimes travel there to pick a takeaway up from home too.

Ordered via uber eats, never arrived, full refund from uber eats. When I phoned, was told never received order. No apology, no alternative to remedy situation, just hung up. Disgusting customer service.

I have had a problem with "Indian" cuisine, for a while. The food smells delightful; it looks fantastic, then the eating, is an anticlimax. I am pleased to say that our first meal from here, for a while, was one of the most enjoyable curries, that we have had for a long time. It was so enjoyable, that we repeated the order a few days later and the food was equally as good. Our third order, one week later, was entirely different. I presume that it was a different chef but by comparison to the previous two, this was a disappointment, both in the way that it was prepared and the flavour. With our first two meals, we received complimentary poppadoms but not with the third. It is essential in maintaining customer loyalty, that consistency in the quality of the product and service are maintained at all times. Every meal should be of equal appearance and quality, regardless of who is preparing it.

Bring back the other chef. Whilst it was all OK, it wasn't as good as the previous two times and no complimentary poppadoms, which were previously much appreciated. It is vital that standards remain consistent.

Not the best tasting curry, ordered a Bhuna and a plain curry…. They both tasted exactly the same , however they added free starter and also poppadoms . I wouldn’t rush back

The food was so full of grease. The paper was covered in grease from the curry, and the bhajis were just grease balls. Chips were like mush too.Disappointed this time.
