Quiet little café that serves excellent coffee. Worth a visit for the coffee alone but the cakes are scrumptious as well. 😋

Excellent little cafe fab staff too

Popped in here ad-hoc as was passing and fancied a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Paid £10 for the privilege of ordering a bacon and egg sandwich with a flat white. It was nice, but not £10 nice. Seems very expensive when you can get comparable food at significantly lower prices nearby. I'll personally not be back.

Avoid this place ordered a house special chowmein, this was cold and then husband was sick because of it. My all in one dish was chicken, gravy rice and chips. Gravy far far to thick was like having a bowl of gravy but tar like instead. Virtually no meat and no taste whatsoever.

We had a great meal tonight, 8 of us met up there (family visited from London). All staff were great and very friendly - I would like to praise Ria, who took our order behind the bar - my husband is diabetic and his libre/phone was telling him his blood sugars were extremely low, so I asked Ria if she sold any chocolate behind the bar, she said she didn't - but when I explained about my husbands condition, she rushed off to the kitchen and grabbed a mars bar to give him, I felt this deserved a special mention, she didn't have to do this - THANK YOU RIA, very much appreciated

If you're bored with the same-old stodgy Italian restaurant experience, then get yourself to Up North where they really do it differently. Delicious, fresh salads and sharing boards and delicately flavoured, delicious pizzas.

Fantastic food, presented with care and friendly customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. The cafe itself was warm and welcoming and very comfortable. Gluten and dairy free options were available.

We fancied chips to take home for lunch and being nearby to highland fisheries at the time we just made it before it closed at 2pm. The chips were fine but maybes the fish cake had stood a bit longer than normal.

Lovely pub. Great food, prices and a decent pint. Staff always friendly and helpful. Special mention to Yvonne. We really appreciated your extra thought towards us at the Halloween party. Not many places take the time to do that. Would highly recommend the Bamburgh to anyone who is in South Shields and fancies a proper pub lunch and a coupe of pints

We visited here as my husband has had surgery and wanted to go somewhere he could walk. We decided on toasties which I know have not changed for a number of years but they were tasty. Minchella’s ice cream is a memory of childhood and never disappoints. The staff on the day we went were very helpful and friendly

I was so disappointed with this place, the staff were rude and the food was microwaved, I was told this by a member of staff when I asked if the fish was well battered, his reply was it comes out the packet into the microwave there are no options. Beautiful setting but if they want to make money they need a proper kitchen team. We paid £58 for fish and chips, a burger, a cappuccino and a coke, we left most of this, we did approach the staff but they just dismissed us.

pizza is unreal and it’s great that you get chips along with every pizza you buy! one of the best places for a takeaway for sure.
