Highfield Fisheries in South Tyneside

We fancied chips to take home for lunch and being nearby to highland fisheries at the time we just made it before it closed at 2pm. The chips were fine but maybes the fish cake had stood a bit longer than normal.

The takeaway needed warming up but fish was lovely and white, tasty along with nice chips and a sweet curry sauce. Reasonable prices and good choice on the menu

One of those days when nothing goes right. So, delivery with 20% off Tuesday. Wanted taste without too much taste so kebab and chips, a small pizza for the next day along with half a Dutch smokey and garlic sauce. The meal made the day a lot better than it was.

….but overall the meal was very nice, hot, delivered on time, with ‘proper’ chip shop chips! My husbands hot shot pizza was tasty but not that hot and I was disappointed with the amount of fillings in my pepperoni although it looked and tasted good.

Always get my fish and chips here but today they were terrible, not fresh as looked like last nights fry-ups, dry and unappetizing

Me and my husband buy from here all the time. We d tried loads of pizzas, the fish and chips and the mixed kebabs. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal from them and they always deliver within 30 minutes which I think is fantastic. The pizzas are delicious and you get a huge portion of chips when you order them. We order off them every 3 weeks and will keepdoing so.

Nice takeaway and very local , has a good choice of food and is decent value for money, all round nice place

Had many a takeaway from here but lately standards have dropped off considerably just had some kebab wraps delivered with chips and can honestly say I was realy disappointed the kebabs were luke warm and the chips were something off the day before .Will not be ordering from this establishment any time soon

It seemed a long time for delivery to come. When it did the hotshot and pepperoni pizzas were both hot and ready to eat alongside a mountain of chips, enough to feed 6! The whole meal was lovely, plenty leftovers for another day.

Delivered very quickly, plenty of lovely cod and tasty Smokey. Large chilli sauce and money off from a delivery service. Intention was to order large fish and chips to receive free mushy peas but we forgot to order the chips! Duh

Using just eat, our family from Liverpool and ourselves ordered meals for 7 including fish, sausages and chicken nuggets x 10! Adding 3 chips, enough that meant we had a left over packet, we received 2 free mushy peas too. Delivered early and hot to eat everyone was impressed and full. The fish was delicious and all the sausages and nuggets were wolfed down. We did ask for batter (scraps of batter in Liverpool, are apparently rare) but we didn’t get any

nice fish and chips from here staff friendly place is clean and tidy very local easy parking or 10minute walk would recommend this place

Apart from needing a bit of sprucing up, inside and out, a change of venue found us at Highfield Fisheries for a Friday lunchtime treat. Fish and chips, (free mushy peas with a large meal) and a battered sausage with lots of free batter. Very tasty, filling and happy to go back to try other things. Friendly owner, but can be hard to park outside due to a narrow busy road.

Fish and chips always arrives in good time and the batter is still crispy. This is my “go to” Fish n’ Chip delivery place.

This isn't a fish and chip shop. It's a pizza and kebab shop which also sells fish and chips. The fish and chips are ok, a bit greasy though and not to the standard of other places in the town. Fish is frozen and not fresh.

Friendly fish and chip shop, with a great Spam fritter... We pop in regularly, and nice fish and chips as well.

We were passing one lunch time and decided on fish and chips ,The staff were quick and efficient but the fish was disappointing ,skinless but tasteless which tasted nothing like cod which is usually our favourite fish . It certainly did not taste like local fish and that is with a very good fish Quay at North Shields .

As fish and chip shops go, this is not the best. I have been here on a number of occasions but each time i feel ill afterwards. Greasy food more than others. Shame as it is in a more prestegious part of town.

We'd left going for a fish and chip tea too late too catch our local shop so we drove around and dismissed a few open shops before going back to my own stamping ground where the shop of my childhood had quadrupled in size and importantly was open. Apart from decor that could possibly need a tweek we were served in double quick time with fish and chips, battered sausage, chips and mushy peas and lots of important batter. The whole of our meals were well cooked, hot and thoroughly enjoyable. The amount of chips were really generous and the mushy peas were on the right side of mushy and not runny. more importantly the fish and sausage were lovely.
