Guy's Chinese Take Away in South Tyneside

Avoid this place ordered a house special chowmein, this was cold and then husband was sick because of it. My all in one dish was chicken, gravy rice and chips. Gravy far far to thick was like having a bowl of gravy but tar like instead. Virtually no meat and no taste whatsoever.

We had been loyal to the same takeaway for many years but once prices rose and the menu stayed the same we were on the lookout for somewhere new and decided to give Guys a try. Glad we did as we have always had quick and friendly service and the quality of the food is top notch.

We had been looking for a new Chinese takeaway and thought we would give Guys a go as it has a 5 scores on the door rating. We rang the order in to collect and it was nearly ready when we arrived. King prawn and chicken curry, house special chow me in, fried rice and mini spring rolls. All piping hot and the smell was incredible. The taste did not disappoint. Fresh quality gorgeous ingredients has now made this THE only Chinese I will eat from. Thanks Guys, after a day decorating you've made our Saturday night great!

Living around the corner from a Chinese takeaway can be a very bad thing, but boy its worth it from here. Worth paying a visit to anytime. Recommend it!!

This is the first time I've used Guy's, but it won't be the last. There are so many positive things to say about this take-away its hard to know where to begin. First, the pleasant attitude of the staff when you ring. That always helps. Second, speedy delivery - another plus. But now for the food. I ordered Chow Mien with King Prawns. Fresh, not overly greasy and great taste. It came in one of those circular cartons and there was plenty of it. And they didn't skimp on the prawns, either. My wife ordered Chop Suey in Black Bean Sauce with egg-fried rice. I tried it. Fantastic. Some nice touches: an up-to-date menu in the bag. And what a menu...one of the most extensive I've seen; Shanghai, Szechuan, Thai, Japanese...and here's the best bit. A good range of dishes which include Quorn instead of meat, thus making life a little bit easier for vegetarians. Free calendar also, and fortune cookies. And it all came to £16, which we count as very fair indeed. Seriously, you should check this place out...
