Never disappointed by the food here, service from Wendy is always kind and friendly. Best Chinese takeaway I've ever been to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Walk in order chicken sweet & sour chips,house special curry with fried rice. Both bland without taste. All meat within curry you could tell was pre cooked including king prawns- all lukewarm but spent £20 give it the benefit of the doubt the fried rice was stuck together in lumps again clearly precooked. We were both trotting with the sh**s through the night Have a good think before ordering from here. Returned two days later to explain the situation they weren’t bothered

Order was here within 20 minutes absolutely unreal food piping hot lovley service on the phone aswell 5* xx

This is my first time ordering from this takeaway and it definitely won't be my last.. The lady on the phone was very polite.. The delivery driver was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious.. Piping hot and the portions were huge.. I have enough left for my tea tomorrow aswell.. This is definitely gonna be my go to Chinese takeaway place from now on. 😊👌

Wendy and her team have been serving me Chinese food for 4 years . The service is always 10 out of ten and the food gets nicer every time . I would highly recommend the Beef Green Pepper with black bean sauce . It’s amazing

I didn't have a menu but it wasn't necessary as they were extremely helpful on the phone and didn't rush me. The food arrived earlier than stated which was good as we were hungry. The food was really very good, much better than I've had from a takeaway in a very long time. The portions were big and good value for money. From start to finish an excellent experience.

Never fails to amaze me best by far. The owners are amazing such beautiful people. Even the delivery guy is lovely person. Couldn't praise them enough the food is unreal every time I honestly would never order from anywhere else.

I've been going here my whole life and I'm yet to find another that comes close. Super fresh, hot, delicious food. Great hygiene, and friendly helpful staff. Order is always fast and correct. Nowhere else comes close. My only complaint would be that I can't get delivery to Hebburn- still worth the drive though!

Decided to try the Golden Lion after being disappointed with other takeaways we had been using. The lady who answered the phone was really friendly and helpful after I explained I was fed up receiving meals from other restaurants covered in batter (which to me is soggy stodge). She explained she could do it either way and even suggested a particular meal which may not be too hot for me. The delivery was on time and the food was delicious. Will be using this one in future.

Be using this takeaway for about 35years and they still make the best Chow Mein in South SHIELDS! Thanks for a lovely meal 👍

Tried the Golden Lion for the first time and we were both well impressed. The food was delicious, fresh, hot and tasty. Delivered within the timescales they promised and the delivery driver was spot on. i overpaid him and he came back with my money....well impressed. would definitely recommend this for a carryout. the prawn crackers were FOC and lovely too

Great food used this Chinese takeaway for a few years now

Bought a chowmien special tonight , got home and it was just a portion of mushy mess , it stunk it looked vile ,and was floating in grease went straight in bin , used to love meals from here , never again , avoid this place 🤮🤮🤮

Decided to give it another go after my no show takeaway a year back, this time I collected to make sure I received my food. Salt and pepper ribs were fine however the rest of the meal had to be reheated. My Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken tasted of perfume and the noodles pure salt. Final chance with this takeaway, won't be returning.

This takeaway used to provide great food but lately it has been consistently poor. Chips are obviously pre cooked then reheated and the chicken in all meals dry and over cooked. Give it a miss!!

My "Go To" place for a Chinese takeaway. My two children are fussy eaters & the staff are always happy to tweak the menu for them.

After struggling for so long to find a decent Chinese.. We finally tried here.. And now we won't go anywhere else. Food is always fresh and hot, both upon. Collection or delivery, and the portion sizes are fantastic. Tasty food and for reasonable prices too.

Ordered my takeaway at half 10, which was £27 worth of food. It is now 12.30am and no takeaway has arrived. As a loyal regular customer I'm disgusted. Why take the order if you aren't going to deliver it? Your loss of £27, and future orders.

Have used the Gold Lion, as my regular Chinese takeaway for the last 2 or 3 years. The service is always quick friendly and efficient. The food is always good and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit

He empezado a usar El Golden Lion recientemente y tengo que decir que el arroz frito de Singapur es el mejor que he tenido. La Chica toma las llamadas de teléfono siempre es cortés y eficiente. Ella le dice el precio y el tiempo que se, y en mi experiencia el tiempo es de 99% en el clavo! Pruébalo.

having just moved to south shields, my wife who originated from hear, ordered us a takeaway from the gold lion, it was the best i had ever tasted, piping hot, lovely curry sauce, beef and chicken, fast friendly delivery. my wife informs me she used to have a meal in there, but they only do take aways now.

any alterations ie nut allergies catered for and a superb service and quality food delivered normally within 30 mins and piping hot

Pedimos última noche y estaba muy decepcionado. Pedimos en 7,05 pm - no me pareció demasiado tarde y los pedidos son generalmente dentro de los 40 minutos - bastante aceptable. La última noche dijeron esperar 45 minutos - bien - después de 1 hora y 10 tembló y dijeron que el conductor habitual" en su camino". Él llegar finalmente a las 8:30 p.m. 1 hora 25 minutos más tarde, no es aceptable. El conductor no me preocupó demasiado tampoco le pedimos que lo Relay nuestra decepción y pedimos una llamada - todavía estamos esperando. Se piensa dos veces y probar otro sitio donde la próxima vez como para rematar la comida no era esa cálida o agradable :(

This is a well established Chinese Takeaway with a family feel. A wide range of meals all presented beautifully with a very good delivery service at very competitive prices,

We placed our order at the desk, the server went into the back and brought it out. It was obviously a popular dish they keep ready just sitting there for someone to order. I've no idea how long it had sat for but I won't be going back.

Have been using this for more than 15 years. I love it, delivery can take time but as it is worth waiting for it is not a problem. Chicken and Beef chow mien is the best ever!

On way home wife asked me to stop off for a Chinese takeaway.We hadn't had a meal from here for quite a while so i put in an order before leaving work.It was ready when i arrived and was still hot when I got home. The price was reasonable and the food nice enough.Will use them again soon

Curry sauce is a little salty for my liking. I didn't really enjoy it but I'm not too fussed on Chinese food.
