Order was wrong, called the shop lady came back with me order this time .food was cold,disgusting will not be ordering from them anymore 😒 £35 straight into the bin not a happy lady !!! This was the best about not now !!!

This used to be our fav ordered sweet sour chicken chicken was fried to a crisp md hardly no sauce sausage were swimming in oil in gravy nd just tasted burnt paid for house special rice got plain rice nd the bbq ribs burnt to a crisp nd the bbq sauce just tasted like wostchire sauce was awful won't be ordering again give it a few chances nd it's just gone in the bin waste of £35

Absolutely disgusting! After waiting 1hr 40 mins for our food it arrived freezing cold and rank. Cost an absolute fortune for the little food we got. Don't waste your time and money.

Haven't been for years, thought I'd give it another go. HS fried rice, HS Curry, Chips and Prawn Crackers. It was HS onion and mushroom!! 3 bits of slimy chicken 4 bits of grissly beef, 4 prawns and Yesterday's chips, hard and crispy, the order came to £21.60. Terrible!!!

disgusting ha ving used this place for years ( apparently the owner is off sick) ordered 35 quids worth house special egg fu younng peking chiken et etc , when it arrived no meat whatso ever must have been a veggie version . phoned to complian offered 10 pound off next time . pathetic the old owner would never have acted like this , avoid at all costs mot what it was

Had salt and pepper chips tonight were absolutely vile could only taste oll pretty disappointed as I've never had any problems like it before but I've noticed the portions are really small now which is an insult to his customers especially how much they are asking I wont be back its ashame to as this used to be best one about south Tyneside but its certainly not now and I've heard alot of people say same thing I honestly hope the owner takes this comment seriously and makes changes to save his business as yous are not getting the good reputation yous used to get honestly take notice before it gets to late

First order from here off a recommendation, really tasty and hot, plus delivered in good time would definitely recommend

I just wish I could of voted less than 1 star, I have just had a meal if that's what they would call it. It was the most disgusting food I have ever had, house special curry had more onions than anything else and was completely tasteless and very greasy, olso the chicken had a funny taste, the chicken fried rice was dry as a bone it resembled food that was cooked a few days ago and left in the open air. Needless to say but I will definitely NOT be going back to this place ever again.

Goog choices of meals reasonable price

On holiday so had to go by reviews. Beyond disappointed. Didn't wait long for order and staff were friendly. Tidy enough shop. Portions were good size and food was hot. However it was tasteless. Absolutely no flavour. Chicken was poor quality. None of the ingredients tasted of anything. It was inedible - not from being disgusting but from being nothing. Utter waste of money; what a shame.

Great food, not greasy at all and tastes so much better than every Chinese takeaway I have had from gateshead. They don't deliver out to where I live but it's worth the drive for the food. Service was really fast and friendly. Definitely will be visiting again.

Had a meal from here last night Was rubbish Chicken was like rubber with my meal. House special curry was more onions than anything else. Won't be going back.

Ordered a king prawn and chicken curry with rice and chips. More than enough to share. Piping hot when we got it home. Very reasonable price. Will definitely return and try something else.

Ignore the bad hygiene reports, this place does fantastic food. They don't take credit cards but there's a cash point right outside.

Our favourite chinese take away. Always fresh and tasty. Salt and chilli pepper king prawns are our favourite. We travel from Hebburn for thia take away because it is that delicious.

Delivered on time but missing parts of my order, after ringing up to ask for the rest they expected me to pay for it and delivery again and wait another 30 minutes

Always gone here for the last 12 years since my wife introduced me to it. Tried numerous dishes over the years, delivery can take a while but that’s just down to the sheer volume of customers, when I’ve called in for food the phone never stops ringing. Quality, tasty food at an average price.

Visited Pearl cottage last night for tea. Chicken was very tough, black bean sauce was also like gloop. Certainly not as nice as it used to be!

We as a Family of 4 like our Chinese takeaway hit now and again. New in area and picked this one to try out. Had a variety of orders but not least my craving for a good foo yung dish, mainly shrimp with my fave prawn crackers and curry sauce dip, well 2 orders as my Family got a taste also. One salt pepper Chicken and a Chow Mein for my girl. Not dissapointed on first order, lovely people on phone and nice delivery people also. We ordered many times after. The area is competitive for our food likes and though not the cheapest we found it the best for us. Maybe try out set meal next time, but all choosy for our hit. All food is good, on time, well packaged and hot. I have eaten Chinese takeaway food all over UK and Scotland on my travels and rate this one out of 5, a 4. Reason for this was best ever was in Middlesbrough on Linthorpe road. The house special fried rice was best ever, sadly He sold up and moved back to UK. I think it was called Harry Chow. Still this place is good for sure.

Been using the Pearl Cottage for years now and never had a meal that was disapointing. The young man on the counter is very good and always gets the orders spot on . Well done to all the staff .

This take away should definitely be on you list to visit. Food is amazing, phone gets busy but worth keep trying, or pop in. Tony offers friendly service.

I have Always used this takeaway they do lovely Chinese food and delivery is good they have a wide range on the menu.

We recently visited for a family takeaway I ordered sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style the sauce was very tasty with plenty of tasty king prawns in a light batter we also got chicken ku bo which was nice also the noodles and the egg fried rice were tasty ,I highly recommend the pearl cottage I will visit again

Based in the heart of headworth you'll find pearl cottage, they serve every Chinese dish you can think of for a really cheap price. It's good for a Saturday night takeaway

Been going to the pearl cottage for a many a year hallway had a great meal they their noodles are lovely and there sauce is to die for if you like sauce that is.

Very nice will be ordering again , lovely service from phone call to delivery , order came with receipt attached to bag , everything was perfect , I had king prawn curry with fried rice my husband had roast chicken with chips , the roast chicken comes with gravy ,onions, peas and mushrooms hubby opted not to have the mushrooms and peas this was done with perfection ,

Been to Pearl Cottage a few times now. Food is always lovely. Would recommend the Lemon Chicken highly. Staff are very friendly too
