What truly made our visit special was our server, Amber. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her warm and welcoming attitude made the meal even more enjoyable.
Went for my dad‘s birthday and he truly enjoyed it
A Christmas treat! A very friendly, comfortable dinning room with fantastic views. Delicious food, good sized portions, well presented. Must try the Christmas menu, seafood cocktail or haggis bon bons for starter and of course delicious turkey. Although all the other options looked delicious too. Great selection of deserts to follow. A real gem, cant wait to try the Sunday lunch venue in the new year.
So wanted to visit here with my aunt and cousins visiting from New Zealand and could not because you are not dog friendly. I am sure you would find dogs are better behaved than a lot of children.
So disappointing
Nearest pub to our accomodation, spent several evenings here chatting with the locals and enjoying local ales.
We had the pie off the day (steak and ale) one evening and it was delicious. Definitely more steak than you usually get in a pie. Had to have several more drinks before heading home else we would have needed a push up the hills!!
Nice little corner with local products in the coffee shop area, cakes looked rather tasty but we were only in of the evenings.
We arrived due to our mix up with times but bless them they served us hot food because we were very cold and wet . They didn’t have to do this as it was getting close to closing . We can’t thank them enough . Food lovely, service first class . We will definitely go again when in the area .

Cracking little country local with good beer and friendly staff. Good little place to drop into if you’re cycling in Northumberland and want a nice pint in the sun.
Stopped in for breakfast on the way to do a walk at Kielder. Loved the place. Fantastic , well cooked , quality breakfast. Decent size and good value at £10.50 including toast and a brew. Couldn’t fault the food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Ticked all the boxes for us. Dog friendly.
Liked Falstone so much did a walk from there instead of Kielder and came back to the Old School for dessert. Bread and Butter pudding with cream or custard ! Although I was tempted by the Old School sponge. Thank you for a lovely experience
A group of 12 cyclists stopped for lunch and the service and hospitality was exemplary. They managed to cater for all our orders so that we were served and ate at the same time.
Excellent value for money.
