The best restaurants in County Durham North East

We went 29th October on a Tuesday night. We were the only 4 people in there. The food was amazing, and tasted wonderful. I have had quite a few Indians playing cricket all over the country and this was a good one! We were even treated to some free Brandy’s!

We had a fabulous meal in the Himalaya last night. A varied and interesting menu with loads to choose from. Every part of our meal was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. Just a shame for the staff that not more people using the restaurant and ordering take away instead. They really enjoyed talking to us and getting our feedback on the food. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much

Bit shit tbh frozen chips and wadges parmo dry think we paid for the paper in the chip box and the sticks on the food

This still is our favourite Costa, lovely position, & great staff. Recently we've been down to London, Berkshire, Southampton, & Oxford and none come close to Bowburn, it's the best.

Small but perfectly formed. Most importantly, the food is of the very highest quality.

Horrible pub the bar staff are bullies and I really had a horrible experience due to the behavior of locals inside.

Excellent cheese patty & chips from Jill's. The chips were excellent, the patty batter was slightly overcooked for my taste but perfectly okay and the filling was superb. Very friendly staff, we will definitely return.

This is a countryside/locals pub (Sam Smiths) we visited with our dog and was told that dogs are not allowed! To be honest we were flabbergasted considering it’s location and there is no food served!

Ordered and paid over phone for delivery and told c. 1.5 hour wait time if not sooner. Nearly 2 hours l8r had to ring to be told they were busy and food not ready. Went to collect. Food okay this time, but last order not so, with overcooked rock hard onion bhajis and seemed short on other elements/mains. Reminds me of Jubilee, Crawcrook, some years back and Jashn, Swalwell, recently, getting greedy taking too many orders and not delivering in every sense. Here son, have a can of pop as consolation.
