Booked a table at the Thai on the Saturday of the food festival. So pleased I made the booking as the place was full. Drinks and food order taken quickly and it didn't take long for the meals to be served. I got the beef thai red curry and who I was with got the beef sweet and sour. Both meals were beautiful and cooked really well. Would highly recommend visiting this thai restaurant
The Caesar salad was very poor, croutons were just like stale bread, not crispy and the chicken was cold with skin still on. New York burger with gluten free bread was very dry. Lime and soda was flat and very weak. Overall a very poor and overpriced meal. Definitely would not be returning.
By far the best Pizza shop around. The quality is consistent and extremely tasty. I regularly get the Mega Munchie Special as it is amazing value and the share box is out of this world. The chicken nuggets are not bog standard nuggets (think more chicken balls) and the jalapeño poppers are phenomenal.
Overall:
Food: Brunch/Coffee Spot
Most definitely Durham’s finest breakfast/brunch spot and it seems we were lucky to be seated within two minutes (a queue quickly formed) The breakfast was delicious and I felt worth every penny despite it not being that big. The service was slow but they acknowledged it before anything was said and the coffee was disappointing but neither enough to merit a deduction of stars overall. Such lovely place and the cakes whilst quite expensive (£3.95 a slice to take away!) were more generous in portion size and really, really tasty. Not dry and crumbly like most places.
What I liked:
• Good, friendly service
• Really inspiring menu
• Lovely presentation
• Delicious food
• Plenty of options
What I didn’t like:
• The Americano wasn’t hot enough
• Service was quite slow
Do I recommend going? YES
Will I go again? YES
Was it good value? REASONABLY
Price Point: $$
We visited the champagne bar last Saturday for an early birthday day out . We booked for the bottomless brunch . We were unsure about the price as it was a little bit more expensive than other places but my gosh was it worth it. It’s probably been the nicest bottomless brunch I have tried and all 6 of us girls agreed. The drinks were amazing , cocktails were all made from scratch . The food was also delicious! I am a vegetarian and there was so much option.
Special thankyou to Jhan for making us feel very looked after . She made sure we always had 2 drinks at the table and was lovely . She also assured us that our time did not start until we all had a drink and once we were done we could finish our drinks in the pod which was lovely so meant we didn’t have to rush . Thankyou so much , we had such a great time ♥️
We will definitely be returning and it was well worth the money 🫶🏻
Oh dear, we have just been for the Sunday carvery for the first time after reading the reviews & we definitely will not be back, we were so disappointed.

Some of the seating area was too close to each other, but we understand when pubs are trying to make as much money as possible in this day & age.
Between us we tried 4 different meats & they do look as if all of the pre-sliced meat is reheated, as the meats we had were curled around the edges. The turkey was thickly sliced, but tough to chew. The lamb was sliced very small & was very tough indeed. The pork, again was a tough chew with very little taste. The beef was a much softer slice, but did have a sour taste to it.
It’s the only carvery we’ve tried where you can’t help yourself to your own roasties or cauliflower cheese. The rest of the veg did leave a lot to be desired & one veg we couldn’t ID. Gravy was a lovely consistency, but again, not much taste.
One of the syrups on the cold drinks machine also seemed like it needed to be changed or it wasn’t mixing properly.
None of these comments will come as a surprise to anyone working in the pub, as they will have noticed the amount of food left on our plates & drinks left in some of our glasses.
Such a shame our experience was so poor, as it does seem like a friendly pub, so maybe if you only want a drink on a Sunday, this would be a nice place to visit!
Shame it spoilt our personal Easter Sunday lunch trip out, but we did cheer ourselves up slightly when we popped in to Greggs for lovely cream cakes & really nice coffees.
First time here easter sunday. Had been to visit at carehome just down road. Very helpfull as we had not booked found us a table. We had sunday lunch it was very nice will call again and try the other menu
Beautiful meal today lovely atmosphere very relaxing everything cooked from scratch so wait a little bit longer couple of drinks but perfect highly recommend
Please please beware this restaurant which we have been going to for several years has a large vegan option on the menu just out of interest yesterday as we found out there chips are not Vegan we asked how the rest of there food was cooked specifically the vegan dogs which we had just ordered to be told they along we all other options were fried in the deep fat fryer along with all there meat products !!!! The poor lady who served us was so apologetic BUT THIS IS NOT VEGAN AND IS HORRENDOUS!!! This is not Vegan and we will be taking this matter further so please please AVOID!!!! We have never enquired before as the place is lovely and usually a restaurant with so many options you feel they understand what precautions need to be in place The thought we have eaten here is just shocking
Myself and husband live local to this pub so decided to have a Sunday lunch out as a treat. Pulled into the car park, plenty of spaces so that was a bonus straight away. Went into the restaurant, we were greeted by a lovely polite lady, was asked if we had booked a table?, explained we hadn't , but that wasn't a problem as we were seated immediately.
We struggled to decide what we wanted to eat, but husband decided on the 3 meat Sunday roast, I opted for the steak pudding, it was advertised with mash ,but they were more than happy to change it for home made chips for me.
I have to say the portions are more than generous, hubby's Yorkshire puddings was ginarmous!!.
The food was served piping hot, lovely tender meat and vegetables had a tiny bite to them. Could not fault it.
Throughout the meal we got asked if everything was ok, very attentive polite staff.
All in all a superb meal at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend.
