Port of Call in County Durham

Called in last month, ordered a beer and it was totally undrinkable no problem have a different beer which was also totally undrinkable so ended up with a 330ml bottle, being called an Irish bar i expected something Irish not just Guinness,so its nothing like an Irish bar

I got the chicken parmo, however my partner got the halloumi gyros and they were both delicious. Definitely be back.

Lovely food, great service, not much of an atmosphere on a Friday night but still worth a visit.

Food was decent topped chips, burgers, wraps, pizza all foods that go hand in hand with a nice pint unfortunately the good beers that are in the Sunderland restaurant aren't in the seaham 1. NO GUINNESS i was gutted.

Great welcome and a nice environment with good music and great quality food and drinks. Highly recommend

The loaded fries are very good , highly recommend however the salad was gritty and not worth the price .

Really good & fresh food and attentive service - highly recommend the fish and chips and the prawn sandwich. Onion rings are really good, and the food overall tasted really fresh and not oily at all.

Nice place. It's very quiet during the week, but at least it's open, unlike a lot of the other pubs! I'd like to be able to get crisps or nuts with my drink, but other than that, it's a decent spot for a pint.

Popped in for a cup of tea, real tea no bags, in a big pot offered extra hot water as well.

came here whilst in seaham last night for a drink at around 9pm. as soon as we sat down a staff member came over and asked if we wanted food and we asked to look at a menu, was immediately told they stopped doing food a while ago. we said we'd just have a drink, to which we were told they were closing in thirty minutes. online it is advertised as being open till 11pm. the way the staff member spoke to us made us feel very unwelcome and was honestly quite rude. we ended up leaving and going somewhere else. wouldn't recommend

Happened upon this place whilst visiting Seaham, glad we did the cocktails were lovely and a good price, bar staff nice too!

Food very good and I was made to feel very welcome. Decent prices. Definitely will recommend the Dirty chips with steak.

Impromptu visit, but wow, well worth it. My son and I had food it was amazing. I had Calamari starter, then loaded chips surf and turf. He had buttermilk chicken strips starter and the same main. Really tasty food cooked perfectly. Staff friendly but not in your face. Would recommend.

Our second visit here didn't disapoint xx we were superbly looked after by Brandon 👍 who was very accommodating from the start !! There were no tables free but we were made welcome and seated very soon. We ordered between 3 of us ghe Italian station flat bread which was gone quickly as it was after 3pm and we quite hungry but its was very nice . We ordered 2 Sunday lunches and ultimate steak and fries and all of it was beautifully cooked Brandon was very helpful and I would highly recommend this establishment as a restaurant owner myself it totally ticked all my boxes thanks guys we will be back soon xx

Looking for somewhere for lunch today and we ended up at Port of Call. It was very quiet today and not very warm, it's almost like I was in control of the thermostat. We both had the baconaise burger, dusted fries and it was very good, plenty of cheese and bacon with a couple tasty beef patties. There were a few other things on the menu that looked good too.

Service and food was impeccable. Extra impressed that they cater for people with celiac disease as not many restaurants do.

Very friendly and great food and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. Thanks guys!

A big shout out for the staff both front and behind the scenes, we were there on Friday (17) of us for our granddaughter birthday. Staff were very helpful food lovely, they went out of their way to assist my sister who is in a wheelchair and was first to get there, staff helped her to assess the smoking area and one of the chefs stayed with until I got to her, bless him he was going off duty.

Visited for a business dinner meeting - I was looking something a little healthier and lighter so went for the salmon with veg & potatoes - sounds boring? It was sooo tasty - the chef came out to tell us what the garnishes were and it was so tasty. So don’t just think it’s all heavier loaded fries etc I’d definitely go back for this dish alone!

Visited 24/10/22 me and my partner usually love this place but yesterday wasn't so good as previous times we've eaten here. Different menu with less choice it seemed bring old menu back.

Had food from the Mexican specials board. Main courses were nice (tacos and burrito), prawn starter was OK but the calamari was way overcooked and rubbery. Staff and drinks were good

Amazing food & even better service! the chef Gabriel was super friendly & even offered to do half/half plates and have fun with the menu to suite the table :) he makes the best cheese sauce and even shared how to make it with us ! Fab place

I have a milk allergy so eating out can be a nightmare at times. However, the head chef came out talked to me asked about my allergies after ordering a vegan dish just to be safe. "Trust me he said", went away and made me the most beautiful dish of food. Followed by a piece of what I originally ordered (also delicous). It was then followed by an amazing dairy free desert! I've never experienced such amazing service and I'm looking forward to going back next week to see what he can create! Watch this space...... I am completely stunned!

Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and gourmet food! We have one person with dietary issues and they were totally accommodating. The rump steak was tender and juicy, the ceasar salad was a proper one and the burgers were tasty - - my teens and I loved it!

We went to POC on early Sunday morning for a breakfast, we ordered 2x Sausage/Eggs Muffins with a side of hashbrowns. Wow. It was the tastiest breakfast muffin we've ever had. The chef (Gabriel I think his name was) came out and spoke to us personally to see how we liked our hashbrowns and explained how he makes the cheese sauce it comes with. He was fantastic and his staff who work in the kitchen are a credit to his leadership and skills. We will 100% be back for breakfast again.

We both had lovely delectable meals today shared Prawns for starters, then had one Belly pork on bed of chips in a sweet chillie sauce. Also a Panfried Salmon with greenbeans, Sugarsnaps, broccoli steamed new potatoes with carrot and parsnip paste. All Delicious 😋 Thanks to the Chef who's ticed us back to try one of his cheese burgers can't wait!

Very lovely service. We were in rush and I did ask a lady some ice cubes for my very hot tea, so she gave me another glass with ice. Ladies served us with smile and we felt very welcome. We will back and we would recommend this place for others

Called in for a lunchtime drink and snack after a long drive. Pleasant but basic. No cask ales only keg beer. Pleasant service from the young staff and a very tasty snack of calamares.

What a great find! Great bar and kitchen combo with an amazing new chef. His food is fresh and really tasty. His starters go great with a cold beer especially his lamb lollipops- street food style. Would love to see more choices like these. And the pizzas are highly recommended too. Give it a go!!

Really beautiful place, just loved the decor and the relaxing atmosphere. These independent places are so beautiful and unique and so it’s so important to support them. Great service by the way and lovely food.

Had a great family meal here during our holiday in the North East. Great find. Had lunch after a morning on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks. Great tasty food that came quickly. I would recommend the pizzas and flatbreads... my wife loved the vegetable quesadilla. Thank you for a great lunch!

A nice place and the cocktails we had were good (2 for £10) but was disappointed that the coffee machine was turned off at 8.30pm so no chance of getting an espresso martini 🥺

Went for lunch here whilst out in lovely Seaham, the food was beautiful and the service outstanding, the staff are so friendly and welcoming! Would definitely recommend and will be returning :)

Went to port of call today with my boyfriend and friend the atmosphere is absolutely amazing my boyfriend is blind and the chef and my boyfriend who is also a chef got talking and Gabriel signed upto my boyfriends YouTube account and watched a couple of his videos Gabriel as invited my boyfriend back to cook with him in his kitchen as he thinks he is amazing cooking blind it’s absolutely made our day what a lovely man Gabriel flora is can’t wait for this to happen and garry gets to cook with him watch this space also anyone wanting to know my boyfriend account is theblindchef on YouTube . Very disappointed salmon was served with a few green beans and sprigs of broccoli nothing else and Parmesan had no white sauce cheese was burnt and it was stuck on greaseproof paper dry as sticks I asked if we got any potatoes to go with salmon and was told I don’t know first time I’ve served it . Good food, good services. However be prepared to wait for your food as it’s cooked to order the wait is generally 20-40 minutes. I would still award 5 stars but they don’t tell you the wait before your order.

Plastic straws as far as the eye can see. This place is breaking the law by not complying with the plastic straw ban. Please respect the environment.

I was quite disappointed as I've been the the Sunderland port of call and that was fantastic. The Seaham one is a limited menu and doesn't serve steak although it serves steak loaded fries! The flavour on the food was average and nothing like the one in Sunderland. I'll not be going back to the Seaham one but will be returning to the Sunderland restaurant
