order was due to arrive at 4:45 ended up getting here at 6:20. food was cold

Very cold on arrival. Last time we ordered it was fine, but this time freezing and the chips were rock hard

Really professional delivery driver. The most polite man I’ve met and definitely deserves 5 star reviews and a raise. There should be an option to tip after delivery as I would be definitely leaving this man a tip. Thankyou so much. Alex.

Nice meal but despite an insanely loud restaurant we were asked to be quiet. It seemed a very odd request because the larger table next to us smashed 3 glasses during their sitting, including associated chanting and yelling, and no one said a word to them. Otherwise great meal and service, thanks

Food was good, but I paid £5 for bacon and an extra piece of chicken on the Swiss burger and it came with neither. I would not recommend using additives.

Tried to call fat hippos to talk about my delivery but no answer so here goes. they sent wrong items and chicken burger was tough as old boots waste of money as went in bin last time I order from here

Decided to give this branch another go after the last time was disappointing due to huge delays because of a backlog of delivery orders. Sadly it hasn't improved. Reception area full of delivery drivers and their huge bags all over the floor. Difficult for staff to know if people are waiting. Door opening and closing letting in cold air every 5 seconds. We ordered Five Lies burgers which arrived cold. Knowing we had only 20 minutes until our cinema booking and given how long we'd already waited we decided to mention it but still eat it. The bun wasn't toasted, the df cheese slice was cold and unmelted as it hadn't been placed on the burger and grilled. Topped with ice cold pickles, cold sauces and cold bun there is no way we were ever getting hot food. Really poor value for money. The sides we ordered, slaw and lettuce wedge, were really tasty and fresh, although £4.50 for what is essentially 15p of an iceberg is clearly where profit is being made! As mentioned, we were going to mention the cold burger but nobody did a single check back and even when she took the plates the waitress just said 'I'll clear these away for you, do you want the bill?' and since the film was starting we paid and left. We booked a table for an hour before the film which should have been plenty of time but the kitchen seemed snowed under with online delivery orders. Since starting to accept online orders the quality has really deteriorated so sadly we won't come back to this branch again.

Although usually a nice experience, my food arrived cold and was pretty bland compared to usual overall slightly disappointing.

Vinimos a almorzar un viernes con nuestro perro a cuestas, y el personal nos hizo sentir increíblemente bienvenidos desde el momento en que entramos. Nada era demasiado problema para ellos, y la comida era excelente! Nuestra perra no quería irse, ella recibió tanto alboroto de ellos ❤️ No vivimos en la localidad, o estaríamos regresando aquí lo antes posible!

Recibí una hamburguesa enfriada con piedra con el pedido lateral también enfriado con piedra (equivocado) a las - - espéralo - - ¡9 pm...! Cuatro horas en total. Hecho a través de Just Eat. Muy por debajo del estándar.

Ella se aseguró de que fuéramos felices y por dirigir un piso entero ella misma durante una prisa ocupada y aún así lograr que nuestra visita fuera oportuna, hizo un trabajo increíble.

I was very pleased at the taste of the food but it was stone cold. I know I live a few miles away from the supplier but the food should be better insulated and after paying over £30 pound for the food for 2 people I expect it to at least be warm.

Pretty average. The food is ok, not great but not awful either. The staff were friendly enough, they got my order wrong but it was busy and just a side order mistake. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

First time as a family going to Fat Hippo in Durham, we were quite excited to taste the food. Service was quick when taking our order, unfortunately bring the food out was slow, we waited over forty mins. When food arrived, I found it bland and cold, so much so the cheese slice on my chicken burger hadn’t melted. We had asked for chips and recieved fries, we also asked for peri peri on the “chips” and we got them plain. Not sure if we would return?

Pre booked. Our table wasn't ready and we were 5 minutes late. They are over run today, do not blame staff at all. They were really stressed and rushed off their feet. 2 members of staff in the restaurant which was nearly full. Mentioned it was my 4 year olds birthday. No happy birthday to him, not very good with interaction. Waited a whole for drinks. Got my order wrong, came back straight away with my order but the cheese wasn't melted like the other burgers on our table. Very greasy food. Not very clean venue. Very expensive for deep fried food. One of the beef patties was overcooked. Staff looked miserable, again, probably cos they were so rushed off their feet with probably no breaks. No one came to ask how our meals were either. We were absolutely starving so we ate half of the meals. Left feeling sick as it was super greasy. Also delivery orders were coming in, not sure how they could accommodate for home delivery when they were that rushed off their feet in the restaurant but never mind. Very dark and dingy. Wouldn't reccommend. The staff deserve better and even if they were stressed they could have been a bit more upbeat for their paying customers. £70 wasted. Maybe we caught it on a bad day. But we won't be going back

Will not be ordering from here again!! Food arrived dry and overcooked. Chicken burger meat was dark and grey so went straight in the bin. Chips were as if they’d been sitting under a hot lamp all day. Just eat are not helping solve the issue absolutely abysmal do not order from here!

Nah but for real this place was amazing, I mean I walked in right and I was thinking “hey whatever I’ll check it out it’s the only place open” but once my food came I needed an industrial-strength crane to lift my jaw from the floor icl. I mean whoever’s idea it was to make a breakfast burger you’re completely crazy but you’re also a g and for that I respect you. 10/10 Bussin w a capital B, I will frequent this place with my home boys.

I’m quite disappointed with my recent order. The burger arrived in very poor condition, looking squashed and messy. It's usually not presented like this when dining in, but it seems like it was already squeezed before being packaged. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience, and I don’t plan to order from Fat Hyppo again. I’d share a photo to show how bad it looked, but unfortunately, there’s no option to do so in the review submission

Fantástica Hamburguesa, jugosa y llena de sabor! La capa en las alas era realmente sin embargo la carne no se cayó del todo de los huesos, pero donde todavía muy buena

Una comida llena, disfruté mucho. Las hamburguesas estaban recién hechas, sabrosas y saludables. Probé una hamburguesa diferente y la disfruté. El postre fue decepcionante debido al tamaño, pero sabía bien. Seguiré comiendo aquí cada vez que visite Durham, porque disfruto de la comida, el servicio está bien y el ambiente es rústico dando una verdadera sensación de la historia de la ciudad con las paredes originales.

Ordered my food it says it got collected at 19:33 and it didn’t come till 20:15 absolutely cold, took over 45 minutes to come, stone cold, rang fat hippo direct and spoke to the staff and they said it was just eats driver, did loads of drop offs…

Shake was rotten, burger was lush tho. Swings and roundabouts

Food had been sat waiting to be collected by driver for at least an hour so all food cold. Might have been nice if warm

Not the restaurants faults. I pre ordered before 6pm for food to be delivered at 7pm. Showed up after 8pm. Just Eat you need to sort it out
