The best restaurants in County Durham North East

We’ve eaten here many times. Last year I found out I was intolerant to dairy and eggs. Last night the waitress came over to take our order I told have about my intolerances. She got the manager who said everything had ghee in it, I was shocked with his statement most places just fob you off to make money and take a chance on contamination. I really appreciated his honesty, obviously values customer more than money. We left and had the normal steak and chips from a pub. Before I knew about my intolerances I would have the Naga Len…. It’s dynamite!

A lovely village pub,went for a Sundays dinner,with a prawn starter, wow probably the best meal I've had in a long time,the staff could not do enough for you, top marks

Brilliant friendly and just so helpful as well as very reasonably priced.

Delicious fish and chips and award winning pies. In the summer ring ahead and book your fish and chips ready to collect. Out of season we still rang to book and collect.

Brilliant good and excellent service

Whenever I'm in Durham I visit and have never been disappointed.

My husband and i had a 3 course meal on Saturday and it was absolutely faultless. Lovely atmosphere too. My husband did say shame the toilets wernt as nice as the dining area. I definitely recommend.

Great food and drinks been here twice now. lovely atmosphere. However 2 young waitresses at the bar as we left were really rude and no customer service skills at all but the rest of the staff were great

Amazing location, beautiful room and gorgeous food.

Called on way back from Durham Uni visit. Food was great and high value we polished off the plates. Otherwise normal village pub setting and clientel

I was disappointed in the lack of tuna and cheese filing for £8.45 but the panani bread, coleslaw and salad were nice so 3 is a fair score. Usually you get plenty so I'm not sure what happened today.
