The best restaurants in County Durham North East

Lovely place. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Serves cakes and coffees/tea and alcohol. Garden Centre and gift shop also. Plenty of free parking and an outdoor trail for some country fresh air. Easily accessible via car.

Fantastic food, lovely wine and great service, would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant!

Very busy Friday night around 6 to 7 when I visited. I recommend ordering in advance. Slow service but everything was cooked fresh. Price was reasonable. My only issue was the fish was very greasy.

Homemade minted lamb pie delish , was bit disappointed that it was minced lamb rather than chunky but other than that 100% delish proper homemade with beautiful pastry. Deffo go again next time over this way. Lovely staff, freshly cooked food and reasonable prices.

I base my review on a blueberry and almond slice and a Cappuccino, costing £6.20 Cappuccino was too milky & the cake slice was nice. The highlight was seeing the goats. 🐐

Visited on a busy Saturday night only one serving drinks at bar , took 15 minutes before we were even asked what we wanted to drink whilst waiting for our table , lovely meal when we evenly got it due to some Internet error

This restaurant has good atmosphere and the staff / waitress was really helpful and check to see if we would like anything else bringing to the table. The feel of the restaurant was elegant and had high standard of decor to make the place feel like home and welcoming. I had the linguine carbanara which had mussels and prawn in and also had tagliatelle in and garlic bread this was really delicious and also was really tasty I definitely will be back again as one of the best Italian reasuarnts in bishop auckland.

I am comming back soon pub 5 star staff 5 star food 5 star manager was so Exerllent I was even served by the manger due busy day shortage of staff even manager helped 2 serve atmosphere 10/ 10 loverly friendly.people just 2 let u all 2 know I am on my way back soon

Been coming to Kens for 40 years now,finest chinese in the land, chicken curry still the best.. Great staff very helpful. Singapore Chow Mein also is gorgeous. Probably the only Chinese take away I know where everyone refers to it as Kens(the owner) as opposed to it's real name Sunrise. Now has his sister helping out on the counter. Great service. Probably tried everything on the menu by now all great and tasty. Looking forward to him opening again think I have Chicken Curry deficit!! Just keep going back for a chicken curry hot hot hot

A real hidden gem in the heart of Consett. Freshly baked scones and savouries, sandwiches and light lunches. Good cup of coffee served by friendly and helpful staff. Facilities for young children and easily accessible from the street. The town centre will never thrive if we don't use local shops. Give it a try.

I went and got two chicken wraps, and one of the woman workers there. When this woman was preparing the second wrap I ordered, chicken wrap with salad and chilly, I saw her ate one of the bits of chicken from the wrap and ate it while she was preparing it.. It's fkin disgusting how she could do that. She did it multiple times to other customers as well I'm sure of it. She should be fired.

Still the best takeaway in County Durham and possibly the uk 🇬🇧, old school all the way , you can’t ask for more really . Best
