Found this cafe a couple of weeks ago and I have already been 3 times. Food quality is excellent and always great service.

As a customer with a really sensitive gluten intolerance which can be triggered by the slightest cross contamination i have to say i have eaten from this chip shop on numerous occasions for over a year and I've never had any issues. If you're looking for good gluten-free choice from a chippy this is the place for you. Always a friendly welcome and lovely food.

Came for breakfast here yesterday. Served by the friendliest staff - so welcoming. Ordered the full English and asked for no black pudding - so was asked what I’d like to replace it with!!! Very impressed! Came out quickly, piping hot and delicious. Called into the shop on the way out for pies and cakes - too lovely to resist. First visit - will not be the last.

While staying at on a hotel break nearby we fancied giving a local pub a try. A search online and we came across the travelers rest. Reading reviews and seeing pictures we were impressed. During our visit we were promptly greeted and shown to a table. Shorty afterwards our drinks and food orders were taken. I ordered the deluxe burger (doubled up for an additional £2) and my wife chose the fish n chips. Our drinks arrived promptly and our food not long afterwards. We can't fault the service here all staff we encountered were very pleasant. The food did not disappoint. My burger was fantastic 2 good size home made patties with cheese, bacon, salad and a tomato relish in a fluffy flourd bun topped with a quality onion ring, home made chips and coleslaw. My wife's fish was really good to. Fresh white flaky cod in a crisp light batter also served with mushy peas and the fabulous home made chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and feel they were excellent value for money. The John smiths shandy hit the spot too. We will certainly be making a return visit in the near future.

Probably the worst Sunday lunch I've had in a long time. Ordered the three meats yet all tasted the same. Beef was poor quality. We were given a grand total of 4 carrots to share, boiled veg fully of water, mash splat on plate. Absolutely no flavour at all such a shame as it's a lovely pub. Also please don't cover dinners in gravy it's a massive give away that it's not fresh. Yorkshire puddings poor and soggy

Have gone there since it opened, used to be very good in all respects however in past few months it has certainly gone down market. Coffees pretty poor and often cold, staff are fair but the place is dirty with cobwebs and dust everywhere. Requires some sort of screen on front windows as sun shade.
