One of the nicest farm shops with the cafe in the area. The prices are very competitive but what are getting is beyond. We popped in today for a breakfast and it was amazing with their own made sausages, black pudding and bread. Highly recommend.

My favourite Farm shop. Great customer service . I bought a pork tender loin, 3 rashers, 1 pork, red onion & marmalade sausage, scotch egg and 2 fruit scones all for £13.13 which is a great price. Has everything you can think of in the shop, spoilt for choice! I definitely will be back. I did today. A slice of quiche, pk 2 lemon & corriander chicken skewers, jam ( is vegan) large jammie dodger biscuit and 2 fruit scones all for £14.42 .

First time visiting this venue and on arrival at the farm shop we were massively impressed, such an array of goodies to purchase. The veg looks so fresh and the butchers produce looks impressive also. We had a good chat with the butcher and he was so helpful and knowledgeable. They even make their own corned beef in the Deli which they were also so helpful and gave me a sample to try, it was wonderful and nothing like that tinned stuff we are all used to. The bakery was very impressive also as they start baking at 3am, which you can tell as everything looks so fresh. The fruit and cheese scones were huge and only £1 each. So much to feast your eyes on at this place. Next we had to try the cafe next door and the service was excellent I had the pork bun with chips and could only manage to eat the pork bun and about half a dozen chips. My wife had the cheese and onion quiche and salad and it’s the best quiche I’ve ever tasted. The quiche was so good we went back to the shop and bought one to freeze. The portions in here are very generous and not for the faint hearted. All in all a wonderful experience and we have joined the loyalty card programme and will definitely be back.

Great walks or cycle routes around. Beautiful views of the fields ..stunning with season changes.

I am so jealous of anyone who lives within "popping in" distance of this amazing shop and cafe. It is first class with a capital F. I don't have enough characters to describe my joy of seeing what's on offer in their butchery and shop and then tasting the amazing breakfast in the well run cafe. If you have the chance, stop and enjoy. You won't regret it.

Visit a lot of cafes with my mother in law, this is now our all time fave place! A hidden gem! The ham broth and fruit scones are to die for (just need bigger pots of cream, will be cheeky and ask for more next time). The cappuccino was delicious! The service was excellent! Saw other meals going out that looked just as tasty. The farm shop sells a variety of foods, meats, cakes, drinks etc, so much choice. We’ll definitely be going back x

The shop had a wide range of great products and a fantastic butchers, although we came here reading from another review that it was dog friendly but we weren't allowed in the shop which would have been fine but it was abit cold and we had to eat outside. I bought some cheese with nettles in which I've never heard of before and it tasted really nice

My wife and I went for breakfast, we got there for 930am, it was cold inside albeit i was sat next to a radiator and everytime the exterior door was opened cold air came in. Our breakfast arrived, i only scrambled eggs on 2 slices of granary toast with beans and it was nothing spectacular, the eggs and beans were luke warm and my wife's scrambled eggs were not cooked as requested so that went back. For what was a simple breakfast which costs about 1.50 to make if that was well over priced. The total cost was approx 25.00 with 2 coffees. To me it didnt make any lasting impression, this is my personal experience and i wont be going back despite others reviews.

Excellent place to visit, definitely recommend the farm shop, fresh meat & vegetables, not to mention to the cakes & pies. Then the cafe which ever inside or out is a must, plenty of parking too.

Steak sandwich and ice tea are my favourite! The shop is too expensive, but the quality is high for meats.

So today we went to the farm shop we were there just before 9.30am and already the car park and outside seating area were quite busy. But we went to get some nice things for the weekend. So firstly we bought four of their delicious corned beef pasties big enough to share if you can't manage the whole one. Then some cooked meat and cobs. Then my partner picked up a bottle of Hairy Bikers Ale and some lemon curd. Then the calories counter 😂 and you can never beat a lush cake from here. We bought two enormous cheese scones and two Peach Melba's and two Banoffee pies can't wait to have a cuppa with one of these beauties. Staff are always polite and smiling and pleasant to chat too.

I love coming here for breakfast however the past few times I have been here, the table covers have been dirty and stained with food and my family and I normally arrive for it opening. Can’t fault the staff, they are lovely :)

Great full breakfast, with their own sausages, bacon, black pudding. Hard to find its equal anywhere. Update. 23 Aug, 2024. When they're starting from such a strong base, it's a pity a few things let them down. This morning, the bacon and black pudding were a bit dry, like they'd been sat on the top for a while. Mushrooms were tasteless - give them some herbs or garlic. And personally, I don't care for hash browns - how about a second egg or sausage? This is not to say the breakfast isn't excellent; just to point out where it could be made better@

What a superb place, we popped in Sunday to order some sausages, for collection Tuesday, popped in on Tuesday to ask if they would keep them until Wednesday, no problem at all, all made fresh and packaged as we asked, always a busy place.

Good range of produce, good customer service. My only issue is that there is far too much salt in the sausages and pies etc.

Lovely farm shop had the best sausage butty and real chips our dog loves the fresh dog food, are we able to get this delivered as its quite a hike

My favourite place to buy my meat and other goodies! Such a cosy atmosphere with a huge selection of meats, greasy and goodies. Everything is so fresh and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The steaks and the ‘worlds best pork sausages’ are incredible! At first glance it may look expensive but I can guarantee that the price reflects the quality! You can have your steaks/gammon etc cut to your liking. Love coming here for a treat.

What a cracking place, a farmers shop that sells everything fresh, from pies to mince meat, eggs sausages. Including bread and cakes made right there on the premises. They also have a small restaurant, the food there was brilliant. Plenty of parking and toilets on site. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the produce, and polite. I'll be back here.

I called today at the farm shop but there is a big difference from the photos on the website and actually seeing it for myself. The place seems to be a little worse for wear as the courtyard needs some care and attention. But the quality of the food in the farm shop is second to none. Everything is fresher than fresh.

Usually really good and a must go for lunch. However, ordered food to sit outside today and the beef sandwich had less gravy and beef than usual and was frankly a bit disappointing.

Great place, produce is outstanding. Beautiful setting and well manicured. I recommend the cheese scones and lemon tart highly. Lovely walk and plenty of parking. Only issue is the inside of the shop is not dog friendly.

Excellent service, the lovely blonde lady was more than happy to allow us to move a table into the shade to accommodate our dogs, she even brought over a water bowl without us having to ask. Very attentive and friendly. It was so appreciated.

It’s a joy and pleasure to shop at Knitsley Farm Shop each week. The quality of the fresh meat, pies, sandwiches and cakes etc are second to none. The shop is also well stocked with fresh fruit/veg and other delights. All the staff from the butchery to the deli and checkout are so friendly always making you feel so welcome. We love chatting with the lady on the deli counter. You have brilliant staff and a great business. WELL DONE 👏👏👏

Lovely cafe - nice atmosphere We were seated in a booth area which my daughter liked. No wifi no matter what we tried no reception. Lovely outside area ideal for cyclists We ordered scones and hot drinks all lovely and service good. Orders taken at table - you pay on leaving at desk.

Absolute gem of a place. Food is very tasty and good value for money. Excellent shop attached for fruit/ veg, meats, cakes etc. Plenty of car parking spaces.

Pleasant setting. Good food at reasonable prices and good service as well, so all in all well worth the visit. There's the bonus of the farm shop as well. Definitely worth a return visit.

Excelet produce, the beef stotie and chips was excellent. Sausage was very tasty. Got some great produce in the farm shop, plenty of variety on sale. Can't wait to begin tasting everything.

Exceptional food served here. All pastries are home made, so delicious. I took my mum who's disabled & she managed great. The staff are so helpful. Dogs are also welcome here too.🐕♿️

Best breakfast in the North East without a doubt! All the staff are brilliant but massive shout out to Nicola who is absolutely outstanding and listens to my fussy requests and always makes sure it is right.

Have been a semi regular customer here for many years (since I was a teenager, my grandparents have always loved coming here) and they just keep getting better. Prices have gone up recently but it's a sign of the times, and still very good value for money considering that its all fresh, home made and home grown. I sat outside for food today and had the corner beef pie and it was absolutely delicious. Dog friendly too! I was pleased to see that they offer bones and home made dog food here, and you can buy meat in small quanities too which is good as I love picking up treats for my pets when I'm out. The butcher is very charismatic and knowledgeable. He is always serving and greeting with a smile on his face, and is always able to share a recommendation or have a short conversation. All in all, I can't fault Knitsley Farm Shop.

Always a treat to come to the cafe, food is consistently very good. Full English or steak sandwich, depending what time of the day I get there. Meat from the farm shop is excellent, a little more expensive than supermarket but taste & quality wise so much better. Staff in both are helpful & friendly, well worth a visit

First time visiting knitsley farm shop and what a treat it was farm shop with a great selection vegetables fruit jams honey chutneys the fresh meat cooked meats cheeses and the cakes 🍰 were to die for paid a visit to the cafe and again a lovely welcome a good menu the log fire 🔥 was a great welcome also again staff in the shop and cafe were lovely friendly and helpful will definitely visit again

Friendly atmosphere and good food. We had been given a voucher and wanted to try it out. We haven’t been here since Covid but glad to find that standard is the same and staff are very friendly. We will be back!

Had a lovely visit here yesterday. Large car park and easy access to the farm shop and cafe. The farm shop has a great selection, very pleased with this. The staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Can't wait to visit again. The café is worth the wait for a table. Staff are lovely and service is quick. The food is top quality, really good value for money, and delicious.

We hadn’t been here for over 4 years but decided to call in today for lunch. We weren’t disappointed, the staff were extremely friendly, the food excellent and the prices very reasonable. We’ll definitely be back but won’t leave it so long next time.

Why haven’t I been here before!! Lovely place

We were guided to this farm shop by our hosts, lots of very interesting foods and other items, the butchery counter was well stocked and had actual butchers working, I requested Ox kidney, no problem and well trimmed, also some flat ribs as a dog treat on Sunday, again no problem. The cakes were enormous and freshly made, will return.

We have been here to the shop before but never to eat. We tried sandwiches filled with home made corned beef and beef slices. The sandwiches were very generously filled on excellent quality granary bread and served with dressed green leaves and coleslaw. The corned beef was exceptionally good. Very much worth the price.

This is a lovely place to visit. Delicious frangipane tart, large selection of great looking meats and cheeses. Delicious 'Knitsley smokie sausage' which I took away to form the centre of a lovely dinner. :p

Great farm shop ,their homemade corned beef is so good much better than the tinned stuff, and they now make their own dog food ,and our dogs loved it .

Called in for lunch, sat down and served quickly. Orders arrived within 10 minutes…chips cooked in dripping in a butty were very tasty. Cheese scone huge and delicious, so delicious that we bought 3 more to take home. Will return soon.

Had the most delicious ploughman’s lunch. My partner had a steak sandwich which was equally delicious. We also visited the farm shop which had many mouth watering temptations! We shared a piece of the carrot and walnut cake - very enjoyable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful too! I wish we lived closer - we’d be there every week!
