Staff and location and pricing are great, the food choices I got were big in portion, which is wonderful, but I'd trade a bit of portion size for food quality, and this would be my go to spot. The paneer was soaked in oil and tasted old, the keema was sooo much onion. I'd definitely try again with one of the other dishes, and if it's better I'd improve my rating. Perhaps I just ordered some bad dishes. Side note, but perhaps worth the warning for some: unfortunately their to go boxes/bags are also not secure. Orange oil leaked out of the paper top of the to-go box and the paper to-go bag and ruined my white jacket, countertop, and floor.

I used to love coming here but every other time I buy a pastry from them, the cream inside is gone off and cheesy. It’s gross. I’m pregnant and really don’t need the extra hassle of biting into something that is completely gone off. Others should be aware that they need to check things are fresh first before leaving the shop. A little tip: How about some stickers to show when produce has been made, and then rotating produce so you don’t sell it past it’s sell by date? You need to sort this out as it’s illegal to sell gone off food to the public! Check the food safety act.

A small independent coffee venue. I had a latte served in a glass tumbler ( not my favourite vessel as seems to go cold quickly.) It was good coffee though. Also had a croissant which wasn’t warmed and no jam or butter was offered.

Went for a veggie Sunday roast and it was spot on. Really good pie with gravy. Great ratio of veggies to pie on the plate (that means not a stingy amount of veggies) with excellent red wine cabbage. Combined with a solid choice of local things on tap, couldn't recommend more. Also had a wonderful playlist on the aux.

A good friend treated me to a belated birthday meal and I wish she had saved the £80 she ended up spending. Unfortunately the food wasn’t great! The salted squid dish arrived cold, around 10 mins after the satay chicken was delivered. It would have been nice to have had all the starters on the table at the same time. The chicken satay was good, but it’s hard to mess that up! For mains, the mango salad was ordered along with rice noodles, sizzling chicken in black bean sauce and the fish with dill. The chicken was chewy and the sauce tasteless, some of the mangoes in the salad still had their skin on and the fish came with an after taste which made them inedible, eaten begrudgingly by my friend who was hungry, I couldn’t. We spoke to the management who took the defensive and blamed Waitrose- where the mangoes had been bought and told us the fish tasted exactly as it should. He was so rude, I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill. And I don’t like to do this as I know how the hospitality industry is struggling, but this guy insinuated we were to blame for the food not being up to scratch . Such a shame as we were both looking forward to visiting this restaurant, that my friend had frequented approx 15 years ago and had raved about over the last few months. For a well established, long running restaurant this was disappointing and maybe the owners need to take customer feedback more seriously. Apologies to the nice young lady who served us who was disadvantaged from the removal of the service charge due to the extremely rude head waiter/ owner.
