Amazing food! Seafood is super fresh, every flavours are all balanced! Staffs are very welcoming! Atmosphere is chilling and relaxing! Perfect for friends, family gathering or a quiet date! The BGM volume is perfect and no one is shouting for a chat! It is a proper restaurant not a Pub. Recommend to everyone who wants to try some Spanish food in Crouch End👍🏻

Good tapas in Crouch End! Great small restaurant with a wonderful Spanish feel. Staff can be a little aloof but the food is delicious. I have been to this restaurant a few times over the past decade and it still is a great place to enjoy an array of tapas treats. Staff don’t really connect with diners and we were asked at the time of reservation if it was a special occasion (it was our 25th Anniversary) . That was not recognised or even mentioned. So if you want a little ‘fuss’ don’t bother with this place. However if you want a reasonable (for North London) night out: try this gem of a place in Crouch End.

Yes, very good indeed, booked this place for my wife and daughters birthday, atmosphere brilliant, food so much better than it looks on the menu, the menu is not long, but everything we ordered was way above what we expected. So just trust what you order will be very nice. Highly recommend, and will visit again very soon. One last thing, we booked for 7pm on a Friday night, and I would recommend pre booking if you have the plans to do so.

The food was delicious, despite portion are little small. The very huge problem was the service: we ordered - 2 appetiser - 2 seconds (sea food rice and iberica steak) - 1 dessert with a couple of wine glasses No one of this pairs arrived as a whole: the sea food rice arrived after 10/15 minutes, which is fine, the iberica after 45minutes (...). We asked 3 times to the waiter how long still for the iberica, she always said "it's coming, it's coming".... Because of it, I eat my seafood rice alone and my partner eat her iberica alone. At the end, alongside the dessert, we asked for 2 glasses of wine. The waiter brough just one. We asked about the other one, she brought it 10minutes after (....). Waiters never came to out table to check if we needed of something or would one more wine glass. Never. In general, despite there wasn't so much clients in the restaurant, the service was extremely slow and the waiters seems pretty lazy in their services.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The croquetas were the best I’ve had, even better than the ones in Spain 😄. I loved all the tapas we tried and the sparkling water was great. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back for more.

Delicious tapas and wine, with a friendly welcome - offering attentive service and menu advice when we couldn't choose what to have! Great sea bass ceviche and perfectly-cooked gambas al ajillo. We got a table as walk-ins and were really glad we did. We'll be back.

Simply put, we loved it. Informal, excellent and fun with a superb menu. Recommended and can’t wait to revisit.

My daughter and I visited as it was my birthday, the food was delicious and freshly cooked. My daughter had left a cake for me in the kitchen, which was brought out at the end of our meal, candles flickering. The whole restaurant sang Happy Birthday!

One of the best Spanish restaurants in London. This resto takes you back to Madrid or San Sebastián. The staff are fabulous and the food is amazing. Whether it’s tapas or for dinner you won’t be disappointed. Also they have an excellent wine list and cocktails.

Great tapas, great service, great price.

I could safely say this is my favourite restaurant in London. My partner introduced me to this place in November 2022 and, since then, we have visited every single time I was in London - I love everything about this place: the food, the drinks (my partner had the chilli martiny and said it was the spiciest thing he'd drank in a while, which is a good thing coming from him!), the atmosphere, the staff... Speaking of the food, unfortunately the arroz negro is currently not on the menu, but if it ever were to make a comeback, give it a go: it tastes almost the same as the one I had in Bilbao! Other honourable mentions include fried baby squids, garlic prawns, and patatas bravas. I can't wait to go back!

My first visit to Bar Esteban in a while and I'd forgotten just how good it is. Lovely and different wine and food selection. The stuffed goats cheese courgette flower remains a thing of beauty

This was the most perfect place to eat in Crouch End. Small plates to die for and an amazing cocktails. The atmosphere was light and fun but the staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to return.

Have always loved this place and food is still good but cheapest wine is £32,most are well over £40 so it's quite an expensive meal out (£50/head with wine.) It used to be a regular but now I'll chose somewhere with cheaper wine and therefore a lower bill.

Good place to eat and excellent service. Prices a little expensive but within the norm for London. I would return without a doubt.

Nice little drink spot in Kentish Town

This is the perfect local date night spot so my boyfriend and I booked a table for Valentines Day. Understandably it was a busy night and our food took a bit longer than normal. The staff were aware and were very apologetic, giving us a free round of drinks. However this slower pace gave the evening a leisurely holiday feel in contrast to the frantic service of many London restaurants. The food was delicious and flavoursome (we recommend the pig cheek). It’s not a cheap eat but worth every penny.

Made a reservation,arrived on time and ordered immediately only to be told an hour after to leave and our food cancelled. Disgusting service from the manager. Terribly sad.

We booked a table for 2 hours, ordered meals after 1 hour and they manager came to us, and said that you no longer have time to eat, and you need to leave and they canceled our order. Never have been treated this way.

One of the best restaurants in Crouch End. Stylish, atmospheric, and friendly, attentive service. Well selected wine menu (loved the Clandestina Xarel-lo) and the bar staff really know what they're doing with their cocktails (try the Scottish Negroni). The food is incredible; highlights include the the seabass, garlic prawns, pan con tomat, jamon croquetas.

Gorgeous meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were lovely and every dish was delicious. If I had to pick a standout it would be the slow cooked ox cheeks, followed closely by the jamon tortilla and the bread pudding! Highly recommend!

This was my first time back in Bar Esteban since before the pandemic and I would say that it is even better than its earlier incarnation. Food, drink, service and atmosphere were all better than before. Will definitely be back very soon.

Wonderful evening at Bar Esteban. The food is absolutely delicious, the seafood is a real highlight. Cocktails are also very good. The staff are lovely and the restaurant’s atmospheric lighting and decor make it a perfect place for a night out.

Nice place very nice cocktails and tasty options! However, the dishes are quite small, so not to get full if you are hungry! Perfect for a chill night out with a few nibbles to try

Food is delicious and reasonably priced, great service, nice funky vibe. Cocktails are ok... But overall top place.

Definitely one of the best Spanish restaurants in the London area. Great staff, great ambience, and outstanding food. Charred peppers were a refreshing and light course with simple seasoning, and let you appreciate the natural sweetness of the peppers. White asparagus was perfectly cooked, tender, and perfect with the herb butter. Iberico was sliced perfectly thin, but still burst with flavor, and only the amazing flavor of the amazing pork, nothing else. Omelet with prawns ('tortilla') was also perfectly executed, with a creaming center. Garlic prawns were also, perfect. The flavors were amazing, the prawns were fresh and plump. Also, only the Europeans and Asians appreciate the heads of the prawns, which was left on. Dipping the bread into the prawn sauce was an absolute must. Oxtail was not at all how I expected. All the tender oxtail meat were made into a medallion, then seared in the pan. The meat was cooked in a tomato base, full of spices, and just melted in my mouth. The best dish of the night was the octopus. Never in my life have I had an octopus dish that the meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth. It still has a nice texture that you expected from the octopus, but not chewy. It was unreal. Of course there was dessert. Bread pudding with orange rosemary ice cream really caught my attention, such an interesting combination. While the ice cream was not particularly creamy, the flavors worked very well. The bread pudding wasn't really bread pudding, where it was mushy. It was more like a French Toast, coated with cinnamon sugar. Perfect ending for the night.

Enjoyed every single bit from the cocktails, to service to the energy of Bar Esteban. It was unpretentious, delicious and welcoming. Had a lot of fun in the 2.5 hours spent there especially because of Rafa and Thomas’ service. Will definitely be coming again! A new favourite for tapas and cocktails for sure

Busy, bustling and great food and staff

Terrible food, good but small cocktails, overall not cheap, when at the end of our evening the waiter asked how was it, I honestly answered "terrible food but good service", he said ok and that was it

Had my partner’s birthday celebration here. The food and cocktails were phenomenal! Lovely atmosphere and the head chef Ivan was super talented. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this gem!!

Incredible food. Some of the best I’ve eaten in London. And really great service - beautifully timed, if that makes sense. The dishes weren’t all delivered in one splurge as can happen with tapas but with a just-so interval between each. Top notch - thank you!

Really excellent food, which explains why it was packed on a Saturday. Every dish was interesting and delcious, but stand outs were the cauliflower and tortilla. Will happily return.

Best place to have food in north London.

This is one of my top fave places to eat in Crouch End with my other half. Food & cocktails always tasty - we always feel we’re much further a field than just a local restaurant when in there - great vibes, always buzzing as though you’re away on holiday.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, but very over priced, especially the drinks

Had dinner here with some friends and we loved everything. The service, the ambiance, the amazing wine and cocktails and of course the food all 5*. Looking forward to returning.

I couldn’t recommend this place anymore if I tried! I’ve been 4 times in the space of 6 months. Everyone I’ve taken here has fallen in love with the food just as much as me. Every dish is delicious and the waiters know the menu so I normally go off recommendation and it never disappoints. They are also good at suggesting wines too!! It’s just faultless and the price is really fair. Obviously I’ll be returning!

Standards have slipped since I used to visit in 2017-19. This used to be one of our favourites but alas on a recent visit, the food was not as good and the service suffered slightly too. I would feel awful saying this about a local restaurant. But it feels only fair, since the prices have increased alongside the drop in quality elsewhere (and it was already quite expensive). I find there are better classy boutique restaurants in Hampstead now for the same money and this feels like an average Bistro by comparison. Sorry Estaban! I did love you but I'm priced out at this level.

I ate here with friends on a recent Saturday night. All the dishes we tried were delicious- though portions are pretty small and you might need quite a few if this is your main meal of the day!

Atmosphere and food was fabulous

I've been in lots of Spanish restaurants in London and Bar Esteban is my favourite one so far. All the food is homemade and delicious. I'd highlight the Spanish tortilla which was so raw inside (perfect) and patatas bravas with delicious salsa brava and Alioli. I'll come back for sure, sooner than later.

Top quality tapas. Not your La Tasca chain restaurant stuff. If you're after fantastically well put together food, give this place a try, you'll be happy you did!

We’ve eaten here on and off for years but not for a COVID while but this friendly wonderful place was amazing again this evening. The things we knew we loved - garlic prawns, sobressada, croquetas - were as good as ever but the show stopper was this amazing medium rare pork with some kind of delightful white sauce and earthy wild mushrooms: really surprising and really delicious. Tasty cocktails, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere even mid-week.

Some of the best Spanish food we've tasted in London and beyond... We sampled most of the menu with some friends amd are still struggling to pick our favourite dish, as everything was spot on, from seafood to meat to cold and hot starters, to desserts, fresh bread and a very good selection of Spanish wines and cocktails. The final touch that made our night was the excellent service and atmosphere by both the kitchen and floor staff, including awesome head chef Ivan. Will be coming back for sure, very soon!

I’ve visited countless times and it’s a tragedy that I haven’t left a review sooner because this is my absolute favourite restaurant in London. Brilliant atmosphere, lovely staff, great drinks and the food is incredible. I was also super impressed by the COVID measures put in place swiftly and thoughtfully - I haven’t come across any other restaurants doing this as thoroughly. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do!

Bar Esteban was fantastic. Although it was rather expensive, it is worth it for both the food quality and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The service was also great. The restaurant was very busy (but very well spaced out), but staff ensured we were always attended to. Everybody that served us was really lovely. I will definitely be returning!

dinner here friday night. in this day and age, restaurants that can stay open are performing a public service! the people at bar esteban really rose to the occasion, we all thought: food was excellent & fresh, and service great. they managed this while maintaining all the palaver required by the pandemic

We did not eat here but walked in to a fairly full restaurant with some empty tables outside and were asked if we had a booking When we said we didn’t we were spoke to like the person on the door was basil fawlty on a bad day who exclaimed in a rude tone ‘well we are fully booked’ so instead of asking if we could sit outside we just left There is no excuse for treating customers in this way Will never return on this basis

Not accepting paid for Time Out vouchers that expired during covid lockdown. Shame as would have been a great way to introduce new customers that will now no longer visit.

Came for dinner for the 50% Monday-Wednesday. Incredible service, incredible food, incredible drinks. Walked away very happy!

Great experience at bar esteban last night. They managed to have the buzz of a full restaurant whilst also keeping everyone safe and socially distanced. Some seriously tasty plates as well; especially the sobrassada and the squid!

This was my first experience of eating out with my daughter since Covid started. Our temperature was taken at the door, staff wore masks and gloves. Tables were partitioned where possible, where not were spaced apart. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Jan

Rubbish service, it took them one and a half hours to serve three plates of tapas. Avoid at all costs and spend your money elsewhere.
