Have been coming to the Shampan for nearly a decade now and always are so impressed. Amazing food and atmosphere. We have come for dinners but also the Sunday lunches which are delicious. Mukesh is always outstanding

What a lovely place for breakfast! The staff were really friendly and the coffee and bacon sandwich was yummy. There's quite a lot of choice in Orpington for breakfast, but I will definitely be going back to The Bakehouse. Great atmosphere and really clean. The coffee was served hot and was very tasty. The prices are really good too!

The cafe looks a bit rough, but the food is really delicious and cooked to order. This means it takes a bit longer before it's ready, but it's worth it. The staff is very kind and the prices are very moderate. Plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

Went here for breakfast on recommendation from friends, my partners eggs Benedict was lovely , however ordered additional items that never came , I had the American Pancakes, 1 of my pancakes was uncooked so all the batter just ran out . Ordered a side order of bacon which they forgot so had to remind them and that was slightly undercooked. The fruit was delicious, as was the cream and maple syrup. Staff need some training in customer service . It could be amazing as the menu is lovely, but needs polishing. Would we go back , yes as always give places a second go , maybe go for lunch next time .

Pros - Nice ambience. - As we were the only family, they accepted our request to change the songs playing. - I had got my own cake for my Uncle as he doesn't eat sugar. they decorated the cake well. and got it with candles. CONs - We went here to celebrate on a Monday, I am a vegetarian , and Indian. We ordered Paneer Shashlik, and Gujrati Veg biryani for dinner. The food was horrible. It has no flavours , no salt. I assumed it would be a marinated Paneer. They served us 3 thin slices of paneer, with one piece of tomato, pepper and onion. Nothing was marinated. It was just grilled with oil. Then Biryani was another disaster. It was the worst Biryani I have ever had. It had no flavour, just salt, though they said it was medium spicy. They had put big big pieces of Ginger, unfortunately first 3 bytes I had the 3 pieces. We literally went hungry home. Chips we ordered for my daughter was the only good dish. Some family members ordered non veg food, it was equally horrible. No taste at all. If you are an Indian, avoid this place. You will be disappointed as its all catered for British taste. and it has no flavours.

When I ordered the chicken Sunday roast I expected at least breast of chicken for my hefty £22. Instead I got a chicken leg! Not happy. There was a bit of breast but the damn leg dominated the plate and I hate chicken legs. My partner had the pork but the waiter said they were out of pork proper (which was on the menu and what we ordered) and only had pork belly which, as you would expect, was very fatty. The suggestion is that they are cutting costs and what you end up with doesn't reflect what's on the menu. Be warned. Staff and atmosphere lovely however.

Absolutely amazing food! Came here with my young daughter and Auntie and had such a wonderful meal - I would recommend the yummy gammon, egg and chips! My little one had the children's pasta and my auntie had the seabass, both also delicious! I would like to make a special to the staff lovely female staff who looked after us. They were so attentive and kind - great customer service thank you! I had never been to this pub before and I really enjoyed it, there is such a country, warm and welcoming feel to the place! Thank you! Nicky :)
