The Rose & Crown in Bromley

When I ordered the chicken Sunday roast I expected at least breast of chicken for my hefty £22. Instead I got a chicken leg! Not happy. There was a bit of breast but the damn leg dominated the plate and I hate chicken legs. My partner had the pork but the waiter said they were out of pork proper (which was on the menu and what we ordered) and only had pork belly which, as you would expect, was very fatty. The suggestion is that they are cutting costs and what you end up with doesn't reflect what's on the menu. Be warned. Staff and atmosphere lovely however.

Visited this pub and got a parking ticket despite having put my car registration into the terminal. Got proof of eating there from Sean, but parking company would not accept this. Tried to contact The manager of the pub on numerous occasions for help, but no one called me back despite telling me he was the only one who could help. I won't ever go there again or recommend anyone to use this pub.

Sunday roast pork is not the best I'm afraid. The atmosphere is spot-on and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

Went on Saturday for a meal. Great food and great friendly service. Would highly recommend this place. Everyone in the party said the same.

Absolute gem for a pint with kids! Enough for them to do and the garden is better than expected. Recommend if you’re close by.

Such a wonderful family friendly pub with outside park / play area for children. Children are allowed until 9 - 9.30pm. Can get quite busy.

Had a baby shower there one Sunday and it was absolutely amazing and food was amazing.The staff were amazing and service was amazing. Thoroughly recommend

I visited today, but I was very disappointed with a few things. We had a larger order with 4 of the meals being pizza, 1 of which was for one of our children. All the mains arrived except for the pizzas, then the first 2 pizzas arrived after 10 mins and the last 2 pizzas another 10 mins after that (everyone else had already finished theirs). One of the reasons for choosing this pub was because of the large beer garden and the playpark for the kids, but the park is old and peeling, and 2 of the swings were broken. Not very impressed.

Food good, friendly staff, big issue with parking, put my car details in their portal on arrival, spent over £100 on food, then got a £100 fine, tried to fight it, appeal rejected on the basis its my error?!? Pub landlord said he'd help, but ended up paying it, Shame as pub is nice but never ever going back...

Definitely a lot more expensive

We decided to choose this venue for a family gathering as there were 8 of us including a toddler. Despite the hot weather we sat inside as it was explained if we were outside we would have to come to the bar to order our food and drinks. The food arrived promptly with a small bowl of vegetables for the 6 having roast. We had to ask a number of times if this was for all of us before another bowl was brought out. We had to continue to find staff for orders, rather than be served. The dessert menu was provided and nobody came back to ask if we wanted to order so again we had to find staff. When we asked for the bill the server walked off and one of our party in trying to pay was told to queue at the bar to do so.....for a busy and popular pub it was overly busy during our visit but the service was very poor, which is a shame as the concept of the pub and garden is great. I'm not sure we will return again.

On arriving the pub was empty. The service was OK but we had to ask for condiments. The child's pasta came out in a metal bowl and it was ridiculous to hot to touch. Not good when it's for a child and they need to eat it. Explaining to a 2 year old you can't eat or touch because it's too hot isn't fun. The prices for 2 thin burgers on a bun was ridiculous. Very expensive it's a pub not a restaurant. The pub was empty so there was no atmosphere. The tables are also very sticky. I won't be going back.

The service was incredible, the food was fantastic and such a friendly place. The management could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommend and will definitely go back in the future.

Visited here for the first time the other day late afternoon, it’s a nice pub, lots of room and the food was really good! They have a proper pizza oven in the garden and lots of individual huts and under cover places to sit outside, it’s a really cool place! I would imagine when the weather’s nice it gets packed, and rightly so, I’d definitely go back with the family on a weekend. Also the landlady was very good, she knew her stuff, thanks for a nice couple of hours🙏👍

This has got to be the best roast ever. Couldn't finish it. The atmosphere is great, the service is impeccable and the food and drink is superb. We will be back again. Back again for breakfast,super. Why can't all gastro pubs be like these guys. Super service, everything cooked really well. We Definitely will be back.

Just been here for Father’s Day lunch - it was wonderful. It was myself, husband, son, daughter in law and two small children. They were so accommodating and the service and food were very good. My food was excellent even though it was gluten free. All of us had the prawn cocktails and three of us had the roast beef which was such good quality and cooked exactly as we ordered it. The huge beef burger was really good too. Portions are large and the desserts were amazing. The children had a child’s meal which was nice and easy. The fact that there’s a lovely play area for the children is a real bonus. So pleased we went there and it couldn’t have gone any better. The atmosphere was very relaxed and easy. Thank you to Caitlin and of course Andy.

Truly shocking prices for an average pub just outside Orpington, will not visit again.

Arrived today here just for a drink because the rain catches us on our cycling tour. Staff (two young women) was very helpful and gave us a table for a short time, though it was very crowded. Very nice atmosphere, can recommend!

I could have got more beef in a £2.39 pack in Iceland than I got for £25 in the rose and crown will never go there again

I've been here a couple of times before, and I have always enjoyed the food. They also have an outside area where you can eat. The service was excellent as always and staff friendly. I always enjoy the atmosphere, really relaxing. There is parking within the grounds. I would recommend the fishcakes and fish and chips. The Mac n cheese was also enjoyable. If you haven't been here before, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. We booked as we were dining, but I'm not sure if you need to.

I hosted my Dad’s 90th lunch at The Rose & Crown,Farnborough Way yesterday. It was for 45 people; Andy and his team provided excellent food and service and we were delighted with the whole event. Well done Andy,Jasmine and the young lad who were looking after us. Excellent ten out of 10 👍

Didn't get food Arrived parked, make sure you enter your vehicle details at the bar. Dri is ordered, got a table, and had a few more without any issues. Plenty of parking, plenty of table space Do serve food, smelt lovely but on this occasion did not order anything. A nice visit: Oh, you can get flowers from the flower stall, which is situated in the car park

From the reviews i was expecting a 5* experience but my gourmet burger was disappointing, smaller than expected it was tasty but it was served with skinny fries not the chunky ones and the nothing else. Presentation for a "Gourmet " burger 2/10. My wife had the vegan fish + chips and wasn't impressed. It did come with chunky chips but left most of it. On a brighter note the ham egg and chips looked lovely. The bangers on mash came with huge onion rings but not much mash. Private parking operatiing so make sure you login for parking on the screen by the bar or you can expect a big fine

Went for a late lunch. She had the Katsu curry. I had the steak. Both perfect. The chips were to die for. Really fast service. Nowt to complain about. If we're back that way again we will eat there again.

Love to see that an absolute clueless bafoon hasn't got the eyesite to see that this pub have got at least 3 real ales on at at least one time with a few guest ales aswell.. So the fact that they said there are no real ales on at all is a total lie and maybe they need to visit specsavers.. The rose and crown have a lovely selection of beers, unfortunately they never have more then 3 at a time but as it probably isn't a massive real ale selling pub they are probably doing the right thing as to not waste beer in these challenging times.. Rose and crown team keep up the good work and ( you don't need cliente that slate you online anyway 😉)

Amazing service. I messed up the booking and they still catered for us in the nicest way - 9 of us. Also I have a dairy Intolerance and they were so nice about it. Thank you for getting me out of trouble. Could not praise the place enough and great for children too.

Supposed to sell great range of cask ales. Not one bitter, not even grotty Doombar. Kids everywhere crying and running around. Like being in a play centre. Had a pint of lager each at a grossly overpriced rate. Haven't been here for years and won't go back.

8 of us plus a baby have just left this restaurant. We were not expected and we were accomadated and very well looked after. The food was excellent and the gentleman (who we thought may have been the manager) went to great lengths to ensure a food intolerance was safely catered for. There were lots of children but we expected that on a Sunday afternoon. The garden is a great place to take kids. We will visit again. Thanks to all the staff.

Parking penalty £100 parking penalty was imposed on my sister for parking her car while we met for a drink Yes new bears-fire-atmosphere but being issued a penalty by post three days later Not good An appeal was refused as we stayed over a hour? No bar staff provided any advise nor had they powers to overturn the penalty Fortunately I used apple pay to be served - yet buying drinks seems not to cancel out a penalty Can I have some feedback please Rosé and Crown?

Majorly grateful to Sean who managed to somehow fit us in on Mother’s Day, after a terrible experience across the road at the Royal Oak. The team were so lovely and understanding, service was rapid (even though really busy) and the food was lovely. Thank you so much!

Travelled up from Southampton to collect a car from across the road from this pub and while waiting popped in for lunch. Had the gourmet burger and chips and a pint of coke. Staff were brilliant- welcoming, chatty and polite. The portion of chips that came with the burger were surprisingly big, I was impressed. The burger was nice as well. The only two reasons I knock them down one star is I thought it was slightly expensive and there is a service charge automatically added to the bill- which I never argued but think they should ask first. I'd visit again but quite unlikely I will be up that way again. Nice as a one off.

From the sea platter was excellent. Let down by processed bread. Friendly efficient service and a pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Fab food, great atmosphere, good wine

What an amazing place! The staff were friendly and attentive and accommodating especially with my cousin who is in a wheelchair. I went for the famous fish and chips which was lovely. We luckily sat by the fire place which was amazing. I would definitely be back there in no time. What a great place.

Nice and decent pub with good beer selection. Outdoor area is massive and has its own playground which makes it ideal for families during the day.

Beware, if you're not careful you get a fine for parking in the car park. I inadvertently forgot to enter my car details and got a fine for the pleasure of spending money in the pub. I will go elsewhere next time.

Great vegan food options! We came in today, New Year’s Day, for the first time and we’re pleasantly surprised - the space was cosy and welcoming, the staff were super helpful and the food was great! The banana blossom fish and chips were SO good! We’ll definitely be back.

Family friendly with a lovely atmosphere. Dropped in as a family of 4 on a Sunday evening and was warmly welcomed even though they were fairly busy. The food was good and the service really great. They have some planned events heading into Christmas so worth a look. It’s also dog friendly so you can get your pooch to tag along while you indulge.

Been in a quite a few times and always excellent service, staff are very helpful and the food is always a hit. Never had a single issue. This is my regular for our date nights start or when we have friends over.

Staff very polite and friendly, didn't wait too long for food, food was amazing, a few things could be crisper but still great food, well looked after by the staff and the kids have got plenty of running around space. Haven't even had desert yet but it was money well spent and not too expensive. Had a great 1st time experience.

Not a bad roast but bread and butter pudding came with spots of mould… you’d expect the staff to be mortified when we pointed it out but they were emotionless and just offered a replacement or a refund. Meh. We won’t be returning, there are so many other better places around. Total of £100 for two roasts (we had to share a small portion of veg) and two kiddie plates + beer and coke.

They provide car parking without time limited and plenty enough space. The signature burger, their source is unique, a bit sweet! I need to mention the steak pie, the steak is juicy and soft, it should be the best steak pie I have had ever! For drinks, I try the Aspall cider, it is matching with burger with fries, specially it was 26℃ that day. Aspall taste sour and sweet and not heavy fruity, good choice in hot weather!

Booked for a family lunch. The food was excellent particularly my crispy beef and chilli starter or was it the banoffee tart desert. Can't choose, both were fantastic. Great service complimented everything. Well done.

My husband and two children came to the pub for Sunday dinner we loved the fact the children had a play area etc ,we found a seat and within 10 minutes the food was being brought out. The food was over priced and cold like really cold! we weren't the only customers to say so as a lot of families were saying the same I asked a young waitress for help and her reply was it was because it was a Sunday and they are due a lot of people (great) . Wasps everywhere to an uncomfortable surroundings and near the playarea too. I Called the pub on my return home as was really disappointment we spent a lot of money for 20 minutes and he's reply was were you eatting outside ? And he also said he was sorry but not sorry as he couldn't be seen to agree with me. He did say a manager would call but that was a week ago and nothing. If you would like good service, food that's a good tempature to eat and value for money try the Queens head 2 minutes away from the Rose an Crown amazing service today !

Came back July 23. Must be best pub grub around. I was ready to really pan this place. However, really good service and fish and chips were excellent. Despite looking stodgy fish was fresh and tasty.

Food was OK, but the standards and service were great. The young lady serving us took an order for 10 of us and it was all spot on!! The place it's self reminds me of Dr Who's Tardis as it doesn't look big from the front but once you're inside it's breath taking

Had lunch today while working in the area. What impressed me indeed was the smell of the place- very pleasant, homely looking too. Had a few fireplaces there. Dog friendly. First impressions are great, food was delicious and service was excellent, friendly and polite. Decent vegetarian options. Had hummus and bread for starters and mac and cheese for main. Meat eaters had burgers- all was 👍 👌 Will be back for more for sure Got back for more wine and food and it was superb. Had mac and cheese again, nachos and burger. You need to enter your car reg for the parking, so you don't get fine. Ordered at the bar and food and some drinks were served to us at the table. Will be back again next in the area again

A decent sized pub with an amazing garden space. First time here, but would absolutely be drinking here when the sun shines. First time visiting - good choice of drinks and friendly service.
