Everything is clean, food is LOVELY and Rachel makes you feel extremely welcome

Late afternoon tea and cake, just before they closed. Cake was good and the tea really good. Gluten free option was also available for my companion.

We decided to come to green roof cafe after being recommended, we were very happy. The staff are friendly and the service is great. We decided to try the all day breakfast and I can't complain, there was plenty there and the milkshakes were thick. Definitely recommend especially if you like the outdoors

Bug handling session with my 7 year old daughter who absolutely loved it. Spider was so good with the group and her knowledge and passion shone through. I was even convinced to hold Mandlorin ( the tarantula ) myself!! Would recommend to everyone and I know we'll be going back!!

Lovely little café, tucked away at High Elms. We only had cakes and coffee, including gluten free cakes, but it was very good, all in a beautiful setting. Will definitely go back to try other things !

I've been to this cafe many times before, but today's experience was awful. Their usually very good bacon sandwich was today very basic. It's normally on a bloomer bread today it was basic white sliced and the bacon was definitely not the same thick slice and it was very fatty. And to top it off I witnessed one owner's dog urinate on the menu board on their way out.

Food was good and a smile greeted me was a lovely place to spend time.

Excellent breakfast, excellent customer service and not to mention the gorgeous surroundings, absolutely picturesque. Only point would be, it would be nice if the cafe has decent views inside as well as outside.

Each visit , the cafe never lets us down, the food and service is always good.

This place is good for dog walkers as outside seating. However I'm always disappointed with the food here, and not good coffee.

Nearing the end of our ramble we called into the café for a drink and cake. Quite busy when we arrived and with then 15 ramblers wanting serving, service was quite slow. We all sat outside to eat and drink on what was a sunny but chilly day in December. The café was certainly busy with a few people turning up seeing the size of the queue and just turning away.

Great for a coffee with the dog, don't forget the sausage for your furry friend though or they'll feel left out!

Great place for a cuppa and sandwich, cooked food as well. Perfect stop after a walk around the golf course and woods.

The cafe is simply outstanding. It benefits from a stunning location but then combines it with amazing food and a very welcome vibe. We always look forward to out visits to the cafe

Took my 6 month old puppy for a walk at High Elms Country Park and was delighted to find the Green Roof Cafe. As I’m on my own and you can’t take dogs in to order thought I might have to go without but Benjamin, one of the members of staff came out and looked after Ruby whilst I ordered. He also delivered my order to the table. Tamsin took my order and very kindly read all the sandwich options out to me as I didn’t have my reading glasses with me. Great staff and service. The food was great and such a reasonable price. I will definitely return and highly recommend this cafe.

A nice place to have breakfast and lunch here. I had the English breakfast. It was delicious and filling. At a good price. The staff are friendly. Perfect place for people with dogs to sit and eat outside. Overall, a very nice cafe.

Cold coffee and halfe empty cup complained but no reply thought in this day and age they would be more responsive

At least 3 people behind the counter. Only 1 of whom was serving (pleasant young man). 2nd was moving cakes between the display caninet (2 hrs before closing) and putting fresh clingfilm on. We waited. And waited. Finally asked her 'Are you serving?' Face like thinder. Monosyllabic anwer "No". Rude? Definitely. Young man becomes free. As we move the young lady beguns to serve the lady behind us. Lady behind us says she was frustrated with waiting while she fiddled around and said that they needed another leraon to start serving. Other young lady is equally as sullen and says 'we are short staffed". If you are shorr staffed you dont do a job that can be left another hour while a big queue is building up. And you could at least smile and apologise. Nul points for the female staff. Even fewer ppints for whoever is supposed tontrain them in customer sevice. Have been here numerous tines over the years and mever had such poor unwilling sevice.

Really nice spot , but needs an overhaul , money I know is hard to come by , but that works both ways , we want value for money...coffee terrible food and snacks average at best , seating a lovely spot but probably 3 to 5 yrs over due for a re fit

Been here a couple of years ago.called in for sandwich and drink, it was quite busy, ,had to wait a while to be served it was quite busy. Food drink and prices all ok. It really has a GREEN roof.

A lovely place to have breakfast no matter what the time of the day. Dog friendly. Enjoyed my time here and would visit again.

The delicious specials everyday are always a treat! Along with the creative salads and fab kids menu. You can’t beat the location next to the pond watching the dragonflies and birds. Also admiring the bee hives. My children love visiting with grandparents as well after school for a whippy icecream.

Decent sandwich but coffee and walnut cake was one of the worst I've ever had. It must have been out for over a week, it was incredibly dry and virtually tasteless. Staff was OK, nothing special.

Love, love, love this place, every time we go to High elms for a walk we go for a treat there. Food is good and staff are friendly. Our doggy loves their sausage treat

Great food. Best tuna salad ive had anywhere. Generous portions and well staffed.

Lots of dogs around and water is available for them, I had a bowl of chips and a mocha. It was lovely however I finished my drink before my chips arrived, took about 25 minutes for one bowl of chips

Great place to meet surrounded by woodland birds and butterfly's.

Nice cafe. Popular and busy. Didn't get food but grand daughters enjoyed an ice cream and milkshake. The latte I had was very nice too. Will go back.

Totally dogtastic! Seating inside and outside in the beautiful surroundings of High Elms country park. Food was excellent, though service was a bit slow. Prices are better than many other places. You can get wine and beer here but it's not cheap at £4.90 for a bottle of Spitfire.

mine and my dogs favourite cafe. the menu is so yummy even for picky eaters. i find myself craving the food from this cafe and dragging the dog out for a walk in hope we can pop into the cafe!

Two stars are for the young staff who work so hard. I've visited Green Roof lots of times over 10 years + and have it to people, so I was very disappointed today and worried about food prep. A lady at a nearby table had almost finished her salad and then found a snail in it. The lady who seemed to be charge (rather rude and abrupt in manner) said "Oh maybe we didn't wash it". All salad should be washed, couldn't believe it! I needed a pound back as overcharged and that seemed to be a great inconvenience although it was sorted by a nice polite young man with dark hair and glasses. Our lunch was also disappointing which is a shame as we usually enjoy our visits (first time I've ever said anything bad about the place). Asked for no sweetcorn but there it was on my plate. My daughter wanted a brie and bacon ciabatta, no cranberry which has never been a problem before. Informed after ordering that they were all made up ready because it was busy (half term and everything). Other items off the menu because of half term. And please, if I ask for a refund, please don't speak so abruptly and loudly and say, " I'm dealing with a customer". Extremely rude. Perhaps Manuel the chef was away, and the place just fell apart!?

Nice cafe ideally situated after having a nice walk around the park. It’s nice to be able to sit down and have somewhere to eat some lunch. On this occasion. I had a hot chocolate and a mature cheese salad sandwich which was very nice. I sat in the indoor seating area which is not too bad. The tables are slightly smaller than average so I would say if coming with a larger family gathering I would sit in the outdoor seating area which I have also done and it is it nice experience in the summer. The staff are lovely. The food was nice access to the Cafe was easy even early on a weekday still slightly busy which is a good sign. The only downside was there was some random boxes of stock in the seating areas that was it. Everything else was lovely. Next time I go back I think I’m going to go back and have breakfast as I saw someone with a breakfast and it looked lovely

Great place for walkers (&dogs) in High Elms. Can get very busy

This a great spot after a walk, very popular with dog owners so if you aren’t a dog lover this may not be the place for you, although there is seating indoors which does not allow dogs inside. The menu is ample and well priced, although there is a wait it’s due to being cooked to order and the popularity. I had to write a review because the staff were mainly made up of young girls and boys and they were super friendly and accommodating and were rushed off their feet but all done with a smile. That is quite rare in some establishments form all ages so it is a pleasure to see. I do feel for them though running about to bring food to the tables. Maybe it would work well with a portable buzzer so you can go and collect your food.

Lovely cafe serving decent hot food, nice variety on the menu and specials. Dog friendly, customer service is quick and easy polite staff. Cafe is in good location after a long walk for refreshments and food

We love coming here for a bite to eat and a stroll at High Elms park. The cafe is situated in the park with outdoor and inside seating. The views are lovely and the food is great.

Gentle walk with dog around High Elms Country Park. Completed with hot chocolate and sultana scone. Finest Kind for families, walkers with or without dogs. Great food of the snacking variety plus super sausage sliced for the dog! Magic and good value for money!

We came here after a lovely autumn walk in High Elms and it was just what we needed. The food was tasty, fairly priced and my boyfriend was very pleased with the portion size… (even the dog was jealous!). We definitely recommend a visit

Lovely cafe at High Elms, we go there most weekends and staff are very friendly and food is great. Very dog friendly too.

A simple cafe with indoor/outdoor seating, offering hot and cold lunches as well as afternoon tea. The café is surrounded by greenery, in High Elms Nature Reserve. Prices are reasonable the food is fresh and nicely presented and some home-made cakes are always available. I tried the gluten-free carrot cake on my last visit, which was fresh and moist. Scones are not home-made, so being fussy, I didn't try the afternoon tea. My companion had a ham sandwich served with salad, also very fresh. Highly recommended, welcome break after a walk in the woods!

A good selection of healthly food in nice soroudings. It is a very popular place hence it can be very busy. We always stop here for tea/drink/cakes/salad etc.

Foods great, was really busy when we went

Lovely tasty good quality breakfast. The avocado, bacon & egg on granary was delicious. My husband liked his full English. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Lovely little cafe we tend to stop at after a nice long circuit at high elms. It's a dog friendly cafe with a varied menu and food is always good, special soup of the day was delicious today. And my dog loves the treats they sell there.

Clean air, lushful greens and great food. This is what it makes a worthwhile visit. Start the day with nature trail and end up with a nice veggie burger and strawberry shake. Yes I am a vegetarian and there burgers are good. The taste of warm tomato soup on cold breeze day just warms you up from inside. Definitely suggest to make time and visit on a peaceful morning or lunch.
