Hayes Street Kitchen in Bromley

Popped in earlier today. Staff were lovely, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies were very good. Will be back! (Cyclist friendly venue as well!)

Not as good as it used to be with previous owner. Meal was a little pricey, price could have been reduced with normal bread and no need for pomegranate rocket garnish on a full English.

Absolutely lovely for a meal anytime! I had a delicious light lunch, beautifully cooked and presented. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Great cafe, very nice food and service. Comfortable and right there in the main shops with paid parking outside but worth it.

Me and my husband went for lunch. The cafe was clean and modern. The food was high quality and delicious. The service was good. I recommend it.

My mushroom omelette was delish and salad was crunchy and fresh and fries nice and crispy. He had farmhouse breakfast with homemade bubble and squeek cake. Excellent all round

We were a party of 3. I ordered avocado on sour dough poached eggs and cherry tomatoes, and they ordered the full english breakfast. The waitress brought over our orders, and mine arrived with a tiny segment of tomato and no cherry tomatoes. I queried this and she said matter of factly they didn't have any cherry tomatoes today, I wasn't told this at the time of ordering. Also to serve up just a tiny segment of tomato instead was frankly taking the micky. On top of this 3 of the 4 eggs of my friends full english were broken with hard yokes. The plate of food did not look appetising at all, and they both left plates half eaten. When I complained to the man at the till, who was new, he didn't seem at all bothered and was just interested in payment in full. This message goes to the manager/owner of the business, we will never eat here again or recommend.

Very much better after owner back after full 1 year at hospital . lots of improvement in food quality and staff costumers service . we really enjoy the breakfast for 6 of us . we definitely back.

Have been going to Hayes Street Kitchen for a long time and it’s gone downhill massively. The past 3 times they’ve got our order wrong, the waitresses stand around chatting and the food is often near enough cold. Unfortunately it’s gone downhill and we won’t be returning. Used to be great, I can see why it isn’t as popular anymore.

Have been here a few times, and each time the order has been wrong. The food is okay quality but is fairly overpriced. Today I ordered two sandwiches to takeaway, two drinks and chips. Chips were nice, one of the sandwiches was ok, the other was terrible. One of the drinks was missing too. I won’t be returning as despite the convenience it’s been lacking each time and I’ve only returned as the place along the road was closed.

Had Southern Fried Chicken Wrap with chips and salad today and it was delicious. I definitely recommend. All the staff were polite and friendly and willing to help. Will be making a return visit to try other items on the menu.

Exceptional food and great service! We had a lovely experience in Heyes Street Kitchen today. We've ordered spaghetti pomodoro and a falafel wrap, both came quick and were amazing! The staff and the owner were absolutely lovely and super helpful. Delicious, organic food and a lovely atmosphere. I definitely recommend popping by, we will also be coming back soon.

Very nice place with friendly owner and staff. Me and my boyfriend often travel from Croydon to here just because it’s that nice. Good food, very hygienic, good prices. Nice environment. Great!

Victoria sponge cake to die for!!

A pleasant place to visit after taking our grandchildren to the park. The childrens' menu is tasty and well presented, they provided small cutlery but unfortunately we didn't notice until we had unpacked our own. The coffee is excellent and my daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate with all the trimmings. I can recommend the mushroom omelette too. The service is very friendly and the whole experience is very enjoyable.

The best BLT sandwich in bromley but make sure its not toasted! Made me one with toast today if though i just asked for white bread. So 1 star less. Nice cafe and owner, Mo is lovely.

Lovely up market cafe/kitchen had lunch with amazing fresh food club sandwich was amazing Staff was friendly and the owner was very friendly as well I would definitely recommend to go there all there food is freshly home made 10/10

Have been here a few times and service usually varies. Wednesday lunchtime was excellent though! Lovely young lady (bonde hair) taking food orders. Our food, ham egg chips and an egg mayo sandwich were really good. Perfect eggs! Will visit again.

Lovely food, I had eggs benedict. Service could be improved though. ..forgot the side order then took quite a while to bring over 2 cups of tea. Nice place for lunch though. Beware, you now have to pay to park on the road.

Our experience was a good one, Tho we have had a few problems in the past but decided to give it another go. And we really Enjoyed it

I believe it has recently changed hands i was worried it was going to close down but having met the new manager i can see that there is already improvements being made and the atmosphere has changed drastically. There is no longer a smell of grease like before which put us off going temporarily. The food is fresh and full of flavour and the new waitress was friendly welcoming and could not have been more helpful

I find this place as good as ever, especially the friendly service. The food has always been worthwhile, and the coffee is fantastic, better than all the usual over-roasted franchise cafes.

Staff not friendly. No "Hello, how are you", hot food was pushed across the table infront of me and the waitress walked off as quick as she could. She looked away as we waited for the card machine to load at the end. She didn't ask how the food was, didn't speak to me really. She just wasn't interested in the customers. This was not personal, everyone was getting the same treatment. Maybe just some basic manners would have improved my experience. I did say Thank you as I walked out, but it fell on deaf ears, just not interested.

Came here for brunch. Very clean, choice of tables. Friendly service, nice choice of menu. Food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Worth a visit especially if you are hungry.

Hayes Street Kitchen is a place where I go if I want to relax, drink great coffee and maybe have a bite or just grab a coffee on the go. The menu is great and everyone will find something to their taste: breakfast, salads, lunch or dinner the food is great! And there are kids options too!! The owners are very lovely, they always have time to have a chat, and if they are busy they will still make every afford to at least ask how's your day. It's a good place to visit with kids. The Caffè has a lovely decor and the standard of the food and drinks is very high, but the prices average. Definitely a place to go and support lovely local business!

Just had a wonderful lunch here. The staff were attentive and the menu extensive for our needs. Adam our son has special needs and they were very kind to him.

Visited here for the first time for a coffee and cake and found experience to be very nice. Service was polite and prompt, coffee was lovely and cake tasty. Nice decor and clean/tidy with quite a few tables available. Air conditioned premises which on a hot day like today was a welcome relief. Menu is varied but looked a bit pricey on some items although that said, afternoon tea was reasonable so will be returning to see what breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea is like.

Mi esposo y yo vinimos aquí para el brunch. Me sorprendió lo grande y concurrido que estaba el lugar. Había comidas ligeras disponibles de sándwiches y papas fritas, así como un desayuno cocinado. El té de la tarde también está en el menú y me di cuenta de que también ofrecen un almuerzo de domingo. El servicio fue amable y la comida buena. Una pequeña crítica es que el espacio para las piernas era limitado.

Food extremely overpriced and disappointing, for the high price of the breakfast I was expecting a lot better quality. Will be returning to the Old Village Cafe next time, as you can get the same thing for half the price.

I had the most amazing salmon! They were a generous amount and were played beautifully. Couldn't take any other pictures because everyone was so hungry and dive in the food. Service was friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Breakfast is highly recommended and especially for Muslims like us, we had the choice of the Bespoke breakfast menu where we can choose what we want.

Very unwelcoming and not very customer focused, They made a fuss about my 8 year old daughter having a bottle of water on the table that was not purchased from there.

I came here for lunch with 5 friends and was a bit worried because of previous reviews. It turns out that there are new owners now and they were great! The staff are also lovely, really friendly and helpful. We all ordered something different and all of us commented on how good our meals were. I would highly recommend this lovely cafe and I would bring my kids here too.

After an initial shakey start from previous owner has now redeemed themselves and is offering good food at reasonable prices. Great place for breakfast with good choice and service is efficient and friendly. Happy to have families and can be busy on weekend mornings.

Best Breakfast in town!! Seriously amazing food, i had the all day breakfast and i have to say it was the best i have ever had! The staff are very friendly and took my order almost immediately as i said i was in a slight rush, spoke to one of the waitresses who explained all the food is freshly produced locally and tasted yummy! If your looking for somewere a little more upmarket than a greasy spoon then this is the place to visit!! Couldn't recommend this place more! Will for sure be back!!

I wrote a 5 star review a few months back saying its lovely that I can sit there eat, read the paper and do a bit of work sometimes and never be rushed.

Visited today with a friend for breakfast and it was delicous. Fresh locally sourced food with great coffee. Service was great too and friendly staff. Will Definately return.

People saying the cafe up the road is better. What?!! In there they serve your tea holding the RIM of the cup! So impolite and unhygienic!

I have visited this cafe a number of times now, with friends, family and my boyfriend and one thing is for certain: the food never disappoints.

After reading previous reviews about here I have to say if you want and like nice quality food this is a lovely place to visit. The other eating venue a few doors down as mentioned by previous reviewers is in my opinion a typical cafe which I appreciate many like but is not my cup of tea.

2nd review following the one on 21st February. Another visit with my partner and daughter albeit reluctantly as the Old Village café nearby was extremely busy (his idea to go in here not mine!). As usual only 1 staff member says hello and smiles when you walk in, just a blank look from others. We sat down and gave our drinks order but, as before,  it was a while before the food order was taken by a different staff member; no apology on mentioning the wait. Why not take food orders when drinks are brought and by the same member of staff?  Anyway onto the food. my partner's Thickly cut Ham egg and chips was certainly not thick cut as stated on the menu. I had a tuna and cucumber sandwich which could have been better presented; I like tuna filling but not when it all squidges out the side and makes it impossible to eat. My daughter looked rather bemused when her salmon and cream cheese bagel arrived as the bagel was so small especially when you consider they charge £5.95p. There was also a very small amount of salad and a scrape of cream cheese. I called someone over to mention this but they had to get another member of staff, who took the plate away. She returned with the plate and said I've given her extra salad which was rather ironic as there wasn't much salad anyway. My daughter was starving by this time so I suggested a portion of chips which I was informed we would have to pay for (II was intending to anyway - a portion of chips is £2.95).  It was all dealt with by staff in a somewhat indignant manner who added to the farcical situation by bringing out a packet of bagels to show which ones they used and explained that they get squashed down in the toaster or whatever.  Incidentally these particular supermarket bagels work out at about 30p each. I know they have overheads, costs, staff wages etc. but that's still some mark up. And definitely some staff training needed on how to deal with these sort of situations.  Maybe an apology or a free coffee but received neither. However on paying we were generously given a pound off the chips giving a total of just over £30.  Definitely our last visit even if we have to queue for the Hayes Old village café a few doors away.

Lovely fresh cooked breakfast, def worth the wait. Good friendly staff.nice coffee as well. Nice clean toilets.cakes look nice but not tried them.

The service is slow however the food is good apart from the mushrooms in toast. Nothing diff about them very bland. Please don't make it another pricey restaurant. No wonder they a ll go to the Hayes village cafe.

I really have tried to like this place; its one place that my partner prefers but I like the café a few doors away. Have been there about 3 times and the bagel I had with had avocado, bacon and egg was good. But I find a lot of stuff on the menu too big for my appetite; even the sandwiches / paninis come with chips, I did order one without but this caused confusion at the till. Would be nice if they did more interesting range of sandwiches with a bit of salad. Service tends to vary, last time we just wanted a minute or 2 to decide but she didn't come back and another member of staff took our order. I just find that it lacks something? Not sure what! Maybe a bit of a smile and a Hello How are you?? Just seems a bit cold sometimes. Very good coffee though. Breakfasts look good but far too much for me.

Been coming here for a few years now on Sundays for breakfast. Great place, great food and great staff!

Great location, friendly efficient staff, good coffee. Really disappointed to be charged nearly £7 for 2 poached eggs and 1 slice of toast??? I did question it and the response was it was just the way it was. I wasn't expecting greasy cafe prices as its more upmarket than that but quite frankly at those prices it's up its own backside. Shame as was looking for a new regular coffee shop but that just spoilt my whole experience.
