The cafe looks a bit rough, but the food is really delicious and cooked to order. This means it takes a bit longer before it's ready, but it's worth it. The staff is very kind and the prices are very moderate. Plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

We had not been out much since Covid but after a fasting hospital visit we decided to have some breakfast at Belmondo’s, which we had done a couple or three times before the pandemic and had enjoyed. The cosy cafe and it’s proprietor did not disappoint. I had an excellent large flat white coffee, so good that I had another after eating my delicious Croque Madame. My partner enjoyed a pot of tea blended from Ceylon and Assam loose leaf and brewed to perfection. She chose the JT Special ciabatta, packed with ham from Norman’s Eynsford butchers, French Brie, mushrooms, spinach and red onion marmalade, Exquisite! There was convivial chat about teas and, upon leaving, the owner kindly gave us two of his specially sourced bespoke teabags in which he makes the teas on offer. We certainly will not take as long as previously to return to this little gem.

This is the second time my brother and I visited. Really good quality food. Best salmon and cream cheese sandwich I had in a cafe/bistro in a very long time. Also, I’m always complaining that cafes tend to serve stodgy cakes with buttercream, cupcakes, muffins, chocolate brownies and something with salted caramel - all of these sugar bombs I don’t like. I was so surprised to find French apricot pastry slices with real apricots here - wonderful! Lovely waitress service and a very accommodating manager who knows how to run a cafe. Thank you, we will be back!

Wonderful cafe, has lovely sunny outside area, if weather allows. I visited this cafe today at lunch time. My daughter ordered a lovely tuna melt sandwich, and I had the a scrummy hot salt beef sandwich. Both were freshly prepared and of a high standard. Tea and coffee were great too. Highly recommend

Visited 17th September 2021 for a quick brunch and before shopping at the nearby Waitrose. We were served remarkably good coffee and tea (in house blends) and the full English and Club Sandwich were both exceptionally good. This is that rare thing - a cafe that serves rather smart, high quality food. The service was quick and cheerful. The owner visited the table and seemed an interesting man who knew a lot about coffee and tea. In our view, this cafe really is worth a try and offers something out of the ordinary.

I hasten to add that the chaos was of my own making! I'd not parked in the best of places so I was flustered anyway. That's probably why I managed to miss the perfectly obvious signs about waiting to be served. The manager was busy for the first few minutes, and he told me about the restriction when he appeared. That made me feel awful, although he was really sweet about it. Before that, I'd given my order to 1 of the young girls also behind the counter. Why couldn't SHE have told me? Anyway, the coffee and Danish were great - and lots of other food looked tempting too. AND no problems with the car. God willing, I'll be back, hopefully with a few more brain cells!!

I have some bad news today and I was passing Belmondos as I've been before. I've been to a few cafes since the pandemic and in the othersame you walk to the front to the till and place your order. I sanitised my hands and put on my mask. I was yelled at by the manager to stand outside and there were big signs telling me to do so when I turned to go outside he shoused at me again. We are all trying to adjust to the new normal and people will get the procedures ring but you can guide customers without being rude in front of the whole cafe. A lot of other people have had problems with him in the pastop so it's just a bad day. I will go back to the Poppys where the food is lovely and the manager is decent and polite.

I often visit this cafe for coffee or tea. But more recently we have started to have lunch there after our walk at High Elms. We keiftet from the menu or from the specials which are invariably very very tasty, often vegetarian and Mediterranean in style with lots of vegetables, humus, onions and herbs. They are a real treat.

This gem of a cafe never disappoints - been going there since it opened. The coffee is amazing - everyone should try it. The owner Michael always greets us as we enter even when really busy. He goes out of his way to welcome and accommodate my son who has a disability. Background music chilled and not too intrusive. A great range of tasty food and drinks for breakfast or lunch for a small local cafe.

I rarely write reviews but this owner does care about his business, his customers and certainty from my many visits his staff. I've know Michael since he opened and as a local business owner myself we have had many chats about the difficulties of keeping the door open these days with all the costs small business owners face and fighting against the big brand names and the solution has always been "do it better" It's a great place to drink and snack and I've more than once taken a morning there as a very useable emergency office when the wi-fi is down in our place. I've only ever seen good service to everyone who comes in, extremely good coffee and very good food too so support your local coffee shop and keep it thriving and keep the local area vibrant too.

Nunca he tenido una comida duff allí. Si no está seguro de qué tener, pregúntele al propietario. Él es eficiente y servicial; además de ser el barista altamente capacitado detrás de ese gran café.

Despite being local, I’ve just visited Belmondo Cafe for the first time and am so glad I did - what a great find! I love a cooked breakfast now and again as a treat but am not a fry up fan so was delighted their breakfast is grilled to order. The quality of the food was excellent and everything was really tasty, with poached or scrambled eggs and white or granary toast. They serve a chutney on the side of the cooked breakfast too which was a whole new flavour sensation - I personally loved it, especially with the sausage! Although a little slow, we really didn’t mind as they were very busy (popular) and the service was otherwise excellent plus it’s just a nice environment to be in, good atmosphere, relaxing music, etc. We will 100% be back and are really glad we discovered it. Also the coffee was perfect! 10/10 from me.

I am very fussy about tea, can't stand a bag of dust professing to be called tea. It has to be loose leaves and served in a pot. Whilst I had limited expectations that I would get proper tea when I met a friend at Belmondos for a catch up this week, I was delighted to have the white jasmine tea, and yes served in a pot. So well done to the owner of Belmondos for restoring my faith that I can find a proper cup of tea in Orpington. I will be back!

The menu seems pretty impressive with very decorative names for the sandwiches and cakes but don't be fooled it is pretty average. Found out the person who served me was the owner and be warned he doesn't like any negative feedback whatsoever. His staff also seem to be pretty in awe of him and wouldn't take my feedback to him while he was in the kitchen. My main issue was the poor quality of the cake which was pretty basic. When I questioned the quality versus the price charged it did not go down well at all. There are so many other great coffee/cake places in Orpington wouldn't bother with this one.

Popped in just for a cup of tea last week, seemed to take forever considering there was only one person sitting in there. Staff seemed friendly and welcoming. Seemed a bit pricey at £2.15 but I did get a pot of tea and I guess they have overheads. I did not eat in here so cannot commemorate but there was a steady stream of customers coming and going. My only gripe was the toilet, which was absolutely filthy the whole room could have done with a good scrub from the toilet, sink, doors and hand drier considering it was first thing in the morning and not the end of the day.

Whenever I visit this cafe I wish I visited more often! The coffee is outstanding and the food also way above usual cafe fare. Everything is done 'just so'. There's a striving for perfection in everything served. The service is also excellent. The owner, Michael, goes out of his way to speak to everyone personally and check all is well. The other staff are well mannered and efficient too. My only quibble are the rather rickety chairs but they are a small price to pay. I really urge anyone local to make the trip.

This is one of the local's favourite spots for the best coffee ever. Micheal - the owner takes great pride in making sure that every customer is not only happy with what they order, but that it is esthetically presented and served with a smile. The range of food changes regularly but is always made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. Delicious breakfast and lunch dishes as well as cakes. My favourite thing is to go in and ask what is recommended and something fabulous and totally unexpected will be served up to you.It is lovely to have the old-fashioned pleasure of being able to go in and ask for your 'regular' an d and have it made exactly as you like it. I really liked this cafe. It was clean, the staff very welcoming and not greasy like a cafe can sometimes be. I opted for the vegetarian breakfast which was in most respects delicious, however the veggie pattie with onion and tomato relish was (for breakfast) a bit much for me. Getting a decent English breakfast that is a REAL English breakfast is fast becoming a real difficulty. But if you're passing through Orpington down Green Street Green way then you've a treat coming.Belmondo Cafe, 1 High Street, Green Street Green, Kent, BR6 6DD serves up a breakfast (and other meals) to knock your proverbial socks off.My wife and I chanced across it when meandering back home late last year and stopped for a coffee. We chose a cream tea instead and we were instantly hooked on the place. Everything we've tried there has been great but the English Breakfast is absolutely top notch. Two poached (or scrambled) eggs, fried tomatoes (or baked beans), a fabulous, locally produced kingsize sausage and a couple of slices of superb, also locally produced back bacon. Served with toast either thick cut white or granary (got for that - also locally baked) it is a filling breakfast of the first order! The tea and coffee is also freshly brewed, and the coffee is ground on the premises. If you've any room left then there's a nice selection of cakes to stuff into any remaining gaps in your stomach!Michael, the owner, is friendly and attentive as are his charming staff and the entire restaurant, as small as it is, has a really comfortable ambience.I have been known to simply decide that I want a breakfast and drive there at the drop of a hat. Similarly the wife and I regularly divert from our journey home if we've been staying over at a club just to chill with one of these great breakfasts. And the added bonus - they are fabulously great value for money. A real case of where cheap doesn't mean awful.Give it a visit.

This is a charming establishment run by the delightful and enthusiastic Michael, who is absolutely passionate about quality in his own understated way.First things first, Michael makes the most amazing coffee - probably some of the best I have ever tasted - and I have travelled the world extensively and taste wine as a profession, so I have a fair few comparables. Be patient, he takes his time and is fastidious in his attention to details, but it is worth it!Secondly, the food is fresh, locally sourced, predominantly organic and delicious - the list is not huge, yet seems to cater for all tastes, including vegetarian. My favourite haunt for breakfast!Free wi-fi, personal service, friendly atomsphere and very reasonably priced. Oh, and if the free parking is full outside there is a Waitrose within 50m ...

I love this place and have been coming since it opened but the last few times I’ve been, I’ve had to wait around 15 mins for a takeaway coffee. Staff are getting stressed and flustered, mixing up orders and on two occasions they simply stopped taking orders because they’d got so behind (but didn’t explain this to the waiting customers). I’m sure they are trying their best but it’s awful to see customers walking out. Such a shame as I really want to continue to enjoy coming here, and the coffee is great! I like supporting local businesses and want to see them thrive. Not sure what the problem is - maybe the kitchen is too small to cope with all the food orders or perhaps the staff need dedicated roles eg. One person making all the coffee. Maybe the menu is too diverse for that little kitchen? It would help too if a staff member perhaps explained that there would be a long wait due to it being particularly busy, and then we could decide whether to leave the queue. I’m putting this review on here in the hope that the owners will see it and make some changes. I really hope it improves.

The coffee and cakes here are sensational. I'm serious about coffee; it is an obsession. I source my own green coffee beans, roast them and work hard to be a good barista. Hence I am always dissatisfied with coffee 'out'. I fell upon this place while waiting to pick-up my wife from the hospital yesterday. It is the best prepared coffee I've had out in recent years. The one that came close cost £8.50 from a Michelin star restaurant. The only down side is that I need a better excuse to go back! The service was great too. Keep-up the great work.
