Long overdue review. We were stuck in London overnight and decided to venture into the city to have dinner and we chose Al-Waha. We are so happy we did. The staff is so friendly, we really felt at home. And the plants… the plants everywhere are so amazing and lovely. I love that they keep propagating them, it just makes the space feel so welcoming.
Ok - and the food. The food was excellent! I had such a nice sea bass, I’ve never had a sauce like that. I ate the whole thing even though I wasn’t feeling hungry after a full day of flying.
I also needed a copy of our receipt which we misplaced and they were able to send it to me.
Top notch, highly recommend.
We were visiting London and very glad that we found this small vegetarian-vegan place. We loved the the food here. Very reasonably priced too.
Jacket Potatoes with the variations of Baked Beans, TadkaBeans (Baked Beans cooked with some Indian spices), with Coleslaw and vegan mayonnaise were delicious. We gobbled them up.
The sourdough toast with mushrooms and avocado paste (tasted like guacamole), the Tofu bhurji (scramble) burger, the garlic bread pizza were also tasty. Veg pizza was so-so. Some chilli flakes would have livened it up.
The staff were friendly and helpful, in particular Saniel the young man who always had a bright smile and welcoming demeanour. Keep it up, Vegology. We’ll be back.

Not a terrible place, but a bit disappointing overall. It’s really crowded and noisy, with those heavy metal chairs constantly scraping the floor—pretty unpleasant. Service was slow, likely due to not enough staff, and the team didn’t come across as very friendly or welcoming.
Also, a 13.5% service charge automatically added? Just felt odd given the experience.
2 cocktails cost £33! Sadly, the entire tumblers were wedged with the largest ice cube I’ve ever seen, leaving room for no more than one sip of liquid!!! When I told the waitress she just smiled and took the payment. Absolute rip-off as there was no show on at the time either. Left feeling more than parched. Not worth it :(

St. Ermin's Hotel
Finding a hotel in London that can accommodate five people is rare. I almost booked an Airbnb, but then I discovered this gem—St. Ermin's Hotel.
Located in the heart of London, the hotel offers excellent transport links. Just a two-minute walk to St. James's Park Tube Station, it is also close to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and St. James's Park.
The hotel boasts elegant architecture, blending Victorian grandeur with modern comfort. Its signature red-brick facade, stunning staircase, and intricately decorated ceilings give it a rich historical charm. Sir Winston Churchill was a frequent visitor, and the building, with over a century of history, once housed a spy agency. The interior features classic white decor with meticulous attention to detail. The only thing is the small elevator, which barely fits all five of us.
We loved the complimentary chocolates and bottled chilled water provided daily. The hot water pressure was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable. Booking breakfast in advance is recommended. The hotel also offers a delightful British afternoon tea, which is worth trying.
The bees they keep produce honey for guests in the summer, though they are not accessible during winter.
Fabulous steaks but let down a little bit by the accompanying sauces. Got served this weird truffle gravy that was absolutely disgusting. Asked for pepper sauce and that was extremely bland . Similarly had to ask for chips without truffle oil. Putting truffle oil on everything is a trendy fad that should die. Very good service though.
