Very fresh fish, absolutely delicious

As a traveler from the states, I was trying to find a place near the flat to get some fish and chips. Chris's did not disappoint. Originally being drawn in by the one long and glowing review as well as the convenient location, our expectations were high and they were met. Eating at Chris's Fish Bar was indeed "a culinary paradise, a gastronomic utopia" in the wise words of Tullen Dawson. Chris's Fish bar is exactly what it bills itself as. It is a small hole in the wall style eatery and it doesn't they to deceive you into believing it is anything else. If you need a quick bite after a long day, this is a great place to stop by! The service was more than satisfactory. The ordering process was very easy and straightforward. The worker was really helpful and kind. The food did take a little bit to come out, but this is because they fried each fish to order. When it did come out, you get the option to add salt, vinegar, and/or tartar sauce (and ketchup if you ordered chips). So the service gets top marks in my opinion! When opening my takeaway order, my jaw dropped to the floor. The fish was ENORMOUS! It was one and a half the length of my plate! And the CHIPS?! I got one order of chips between my boyfriend and it was a huge pile. We couldn't finish the one order after having the fish! While I must admit the chips may not look the most appetizing (to an American) they were amazing! The fish itself fell apart in my mouth (cod), was flavorful, and was the perfect level of greasy. I have nothing but high praise for the food. At only around 10 pounds for the fish and chips, this was the best deal of our whole trip to London! You may see fish and chips at restaurants for a staggering 20 to 30 pounds, but don't be fooled, Chris's is all you (and your wallet) could need or want. The fish options start at around 9 pounds and the chips are around 2 pounds from my recollection which is astonishing for the amount of food and the level of quality. Other affordable options are available such as drinks, chicken, and sides. Save your wallet! Go to Chris's. BTW- bring cash as I recall this being cash only. In conclusion, Chris's Fish Bar was more than satisfactory. The atmosphere is exactly what what you need, the service is lovely, the food is delicious and PLENTIFUL, and for the price? You just can't beat it. If you are around Euston Station, Kings Cross, or Camden, I would highly recommend you hit this place up.

The price is cheap, the portions are plentiful, and the staff is fun and friendly! The fried fish just tastes like fish, but the inside is very soft and tender. It is delicious when paired with the sauce. It is recommended to eat it while it is hot.

I had already passed by without being tempted to go in but after reading favorable reviews, I decided to give it a try. It was a Sunday around 2:30 p.m. not many people but I still waited at least 10 minutes (so it was not prepared in advance). No credit card, cash required and no alcohol. I paid £13.50 for a good and plentiful fish & chips (cod) + a bottle of water, eating there. (Ketchup, mayo and vinegar as desired) the gentleman is very kind and carefully cleans each table each time a customer leaves. So I confirm, I will go back

Number one rule is to make sure you chips have a little crunch! Nice big portion but soggy and mushy chips are a no no! my fault I should have asked maybe?

The guy at the bar was very nice. Two fish and chips and a burger and fries cost us £34. The chicken burger was delicious. And the fish and chips too. Plus they put a lot of potatoes that we didn't finish because there were so many. He let us charge our cell phones. The only thing is £1 each for eating there.

A very nice place, we arrived with the amount that was indicated in the photo comments. Unfortunately, the prices have been changed. The staff were great because we were very embarrassed not to have enough but they were very accommodating and we were able to taste their fish and chips which was really delicious. We highly recommend them.

Chicken Burger was disappointing: only meet, mayo and a few pieces of salad, and that’s all, no veggies. It’s a typical fast food, but not actually a full-fledged meal. Additionally they charge 1 pound extra for eating inside..

I've always used this chippy. Whenever I'm in London. This chippy is beside Euston, so I pop If I'm early, I'll eat then outside the station. There is a seated forecourt of the station. Or if it's literally 30 minutes and the train is in Euston, I make my way to my train. Thank you Mr chippy

A small place, but they have excellent fish and chips for take away. The scampi was good too! One order of chips is definitely enough for two. The staff was very friendly, and I would love to return to try their pies, sausages, and onion rings.

Un restaurant qui n'en a pas l'air mais qui vaut le détour, sur le chemin de la gare Pancras au quartier touristique de Camden. Fish n chips juste excellent, du poisson frais de qualité avec des grosses frites maison. Burger au poulet excellent. Le personnel est très gentil et rapide. Vraiment pas chère par rapport à la plupart des restaurants dans Londres. Belle découverte à partager et à refaire.

Love this chippy fish is expensive at the moment where ever you go but they don't skimp here portions are huge had a wing of skate last time only just fit on the plate had to put chips on a side plate.

Visiting from Texas, went here to introduce my daughter to fish and chips. Absolutely delicious!! We had the cod and chips, mushy peas and a beer/onion pie. Highly recommend everything.

Used many times to get lunch for workshop I was doing voluntary work in, Not overly impressed pretty much average. Wouldn't use it myself by choice. In fact would of got chips elsewhere had there been a convenient alternative.

So the hubby used to live near here eight years ago. We were looking for something and he rated them. I literally asked if he was sure it was stiĺl good and we decided to try them. They are some of the best fish and chips we've had in London for ages. Give them a try.

All through covid this place only ever accepted cash. Even now cash only. I live nearby I rarely carry any cash on me. They've lost quite bit of money from me . You wouldn't believe that it's 2022. Their loss.

One of the best dine in fish bar I have been to in many years. I ordered 2 cod and chips and expected the portion size to be small but I was wrong. The cod size was generously big with plenty of chips, metal knives and forks, good sauces, tissues and drinks cans too. This kind of fish bar with such quality crispy coated cod fish is definitely needed in Birmingham. Thank you once again. I will be visiting your shop every time I come to London Euston 😊

A very good local restaurant. The restaurant is in a "real" neighborhood of London so you can discover the real face of the city. Even if it isn't a famous restaurant, the fish and ships is here very good (better than some famous ones).

The best chips shop in whole Mornington Crescent Chris Abi is very generous and kind to my kids giving them lollipops as gesture We are really glad having them just around the corner .

Best fish and chips in North West London

This is the bext fish and chips in Camden. Really fresh and tasty chips too. I have been in Camden for over 30 years. Believe me when I say this is the best. So cheap too

6.00pm, Sept 7th 2021. My train back to Brum left Euston at 7.20pm, so I wanted a quick, light-ish meal. I dimly remembered seeing a chip shop mentioned on Eversholt St, so I set off walking. After quite a distance I began to think I was mistaken, but then I saw some kids eating from paper cones. The place is just by the Royal Mail depot, and is set back somewhat, so that looking along the street looking North, you will not see it. A family business i gathered, and they made me feel welcome. I had chips with curry sauce. There is a couple of tables, so eating in is possible at no extra charge I think. The chips were hot and fresh, and the curry sauce was, well, curry sauce, but it a decent portion and just the ticket for me. All the while I was there locals came in to order, and were treated with the same cheerful demeanour that I was, so quite the local favourite I think. A little incident- at one point I dropped my knife on the floor- immediately the owner handed me a fresh set of cutlery- service at its best. Recommended.

We went there on Sunday. Luckily they fried our fish to order, and we enjoyed the very fresh-tasting flaky cod (4 star for this). The service was friendly and efficient, but the only drawback was their chips. They were too cloggy (I think it's the type of potato they used) an greasy, and some of them were undercooked. I wish they had been freshly fried, crunchy outside and fluffy inside.
