A Disappointment for Seafood Lovers - My recent visit to The Shell was underwhelming, to say the least. The lobster linguine was overcooked, the grilled octopus was tough, and the mussels casserole lacked flavor. Portions seemed small, especially for the high price. Despite making a reservation, we waited far too long to be seated. The service was disappointing, with the staff seeming indifferent and inattentive. The front house manager, Mary, seemed inexperienced, which impacted the service quality. Not a place I’d recommend to seafood enthusiasts looking for a satisfying meal.

I visit with friends,and we were all blown away .The oysters were so fresh,and the steak paired wonderfully with our lobster mains . perfect spot a seafood feast in central London.

Came in here for my Fathers birthday, it’s a excellent experience for all of us. The service was top tier level, the manager was very welcoming us, and especially the gentlemen served us named Sujan (sorry if I spell your name wrong), he definitely deserves a promotion for his professionaality. The food was also great, and it was served very fast too. Overall very do suggest this place, good job to all the staff and Thankyou for the food and services.

Had a meal here with a Groupon voucher. The hot seafood platter was very nice. The manager, Merian, looked after us well. Would definitely return.

The seafood – from the octopus to the prawns – seemed no better than what you'd find in a wholesale freezer. The mussels lacked any freshness, and the soup tasted straight out of a supermarket tin. The seafood platter was shockingly small, made to appear larger with empty scallop shells. Surprisingly, the sweet potato fries were the best part of the meal!

The lady That work in the shell was so rude arrogant and sarcastic with us just because we complaint about a vinaigre for fries that they didn’t have it, we asked how come the restaurant in london they don’t have it , the waitress was nice but he didn’t speak English at all, the manager serve us but she didn’t care about our table we asked her about vinaigre she was ungry I am so upset is our last day in london going to Canada we went to enjoy the food but the service was worse I hope you guys give some trainings to your staff and show them some manners.

I wanted to eat seafood and we went there as a family. Everyone found something to suit them. Octopus, shellfish, soup, etc... The welcome and service provided by Mery and her colleagues was very friendly. Great experience.

The seafood was absolutely incredible, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, with a special mention to Angel. She provided outstanding service, going above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time. Angel's attention to detail truly made our experience memorable!

We enjoyed a fantastic seafood platter, paired with excellent service throughout the meal. The portions were generous, with the lobster tasting incredibly fresh, as did the clams and other seafood. One highlight was the potato chips hidden beneath the seafood in the hot platter—they soaked up all the rich, savoury juices, making them utterly irresistible. I simply couldn’t stop eating them!

The seafood platter was a disaster from start to finish. The seafood tasted old and unappetizing – rubbery shrimp, gritty mussels, and fish that had an awful, sour taste. It was clear that nothing was fresh. To make matters worse, the portion size was ridiculously small for the price. I later found out that this isn’t the first time people have had issues with the food here, and it’s shocking how the owner continues to deceive customers. After doing some research, it seems the owner has a reputation for cutting corners and misleading customers about the quality and freshness of the seafood. This place is a total scam, and I wouldn’t trust them with my business again.

Very attentive staff, we visited mid week on a Groupon deal, which was either a steak or a sea food platter, couldn’t find either on the main menu, but there was a board outside offering the same deal. The sea food platter was good but I would have liked it served on a warm platter and not one that felt like it had just been removed from the fridge as the food got cold quite quickly. The steak was very grissley /fatty. When we arrived there was only one other table seated, the music was loud and unnecessary . It’s worth noting that they charge service on the full price listed on Groupon and not on the price you pay.

I’m a seafood enthusiast, and The Shell did not disappoint. The lunch menu is good value for money. Worth every penny!

From the fresh oysters to the grilled seafood platter, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection.

We came across this restaurant unexpectedly and it did not disappoint! The staff received us immediately very nicely and was very friendly. The food was also very good, we chose the salmon but everything that came along looked good. Our waitress, Mery was a very nice and spontaneous person! She also came to ask how our day was and have a chat because we are not from London itself. We had a very nice experience here!

I wanted Oysters. Thought this would be an easy mission, but not really. I found The Shell about 10 min from where I was staying. What a find. I would really recommend. The food was fantastic and the oysters were brilliantly fresh. The only thing that would be an improvement would be if they cut the foot that connects the oyster to the shell. If you are a solitary diner, as I was. Don’t worry. Reassuringly..oddly…most of the diners were solo eaters on the night I was there. It would be a great date night our group meal place also. Really nice. I would go back.

Very quiet afternoon visit on a Wednesday. Food was very good value for money. Surf & turf was cooked to perfection, steak half lobster with fries & salad & oysters were a bargain on the day. Good selection of cocktails and service from Mary was excellent. Will definitely return when visiting the area.

We had dinner at The Shell French Seafood restaurant this evening and had a truly excellent experience. I satisfied my craving for seafood with complete pleasure. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted wonderful. The service was also very good, I would especially like to thank Mery who took care of us. The attention he showed us, his friendly and professional approach made our evening even more beautiful. The Shell has now become one of the places I will visit frequently. I can't wait to go again soon!

We were served by Mariem, a charming lady from Algeria. The seafood was beautifully cooked and presented and her knowledge/recommendation of the wine list was spot on. On our last night in London Shell did not disappoint.

A Seafood Lover’s Paradise - I recently dined at The Shell and enjoyed the lobster linguine, grilled octopus, and mussels casserole. Portions are generous, and for the price, it is quite reasonable for a seafood feast. I highly recommend making a reservation, as it can get crowded. The service staff were polite and well-trained, making the experience even better. Strongly recommended!

Horrible. The seafood platter was not fresh. We had the lunch which was very good price however I would rather have gone to pay for a pricey but tasty. It was bland, we have to add salt and pepper to give a good flavour. Wish we went somewhere else.

Came here for fresh oysters and seafood platters. Food was amazing. Oysters were very fresh and flavorful. Our server, Diogo, made solid recommendations and short interesting stories behind each seafood, adding to the experience. The gratin platter and the garlic butter soya sauce recommended by Diogo were excellent. Overall, a really good, solid and comfy seafood restaurant.

It’s my second time here at the Canary Wharf branch because of the appealing £1/oyster promo. The last time I came I was in a big group of 12 so got to try everything from oyster, lobsters, squid, rice dishes etc. today I came back for the oysters 🦪 and gratin platter , have to say I’m not usually the biggest lover of oysters but these are soo fresh! And so is evrything else like the prawns, Mussels and squid. What I like about this place is the value for money, the platters are soo huge and they pay attention to all details because even the sauces and fries were so good. Huge shout out to Diogo our server for giving solid recommendations and warm hospitable service. More ppl need to know about this place!

On our visit to London we decided to have dinner at The Shell, it was the best decision since Doro's attention upon arrival was very good and then she introduced us to Mery, our waitress, who gave a very good service, our food was the best in terms of seafood. In fact we thought it was the best place and we have already been to London more than 10 times and I recommend the place. If you have the opportunity, visit it, you will not regret it. Advantage

The atmosphere is made by rhe staff, was quiet when went, we are always welcomed with open arms here, it makes a difference, we are not judged, talked to with upmost respect, the deals atm are amazing and can't believe that is so quiet, everyone is missing a treat, Dono manager is always lush xx

AWFUL experience in this place. We booked the tablet for a big group few weeks before the dinner, so they knew they had to be prepared. Still, we had to wait 2 hours before actually being served!!! We saw them serving everyone else except us. We were starving! We begged them to bring us food in the meantime for free as a kind gesture for the wait but they brought us minimal nibbles. Eventually, after 2 hours, the orders arrived and some of them were even wrong or they did not come as expected. Such a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! The cherry on the cake was the bill which was very confusing and very expensive for such a horrible dinner: NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO at least if you're a big group.

This spot was just a few doors down from our hotel. Excellent service! Mery was phenomenal. Super welcoming from the moment we entered the restaurant. Food is definitely worth the price. I did take a star for the food as my ribeye was seasoned very well but unevenly cooked (wanted med rare, cooked between med rare and well). My mom got the sea bass and it was perfection! Definitely recommend and hope to visit again before we leave.
