The food was ok, the service very poor. And the drinks really too expensive

They took my order then 5 minutes later informed me that they’d be closing in 10 minutes and would I be ok with take away instead of dining in. I negotiated a 15 minute reprieve and ate while they cleaned around me. The fish was not bad and the chips very mediocre (then again, that’s kind of the nature of chips😆). Sounds like it’s gone downhill since the earlier reviews. BTW it closes at 9 not 9:30.

Awful!! The fish had water coming out, the potatoes were acceptable, the bathrooms were unhygienic, the sauces were normal but somewhat tasteless, and there were hairs in the water glasses.

I usually get takeaway. Food and service is very good.

Scruffy little place needs a Good scrub up ,a lot of dirty walls and floors not bin done PROPERLY in all the edges and corners in months BUT the food was EXCELLENT 💯%

A complete disaster! Fish was good but chips were old. How can they get chips wrong!!! The tarter sauces was tastless and atmosphere and plates were dirty. Please do yourself a favour and do not ever go there again!

It’s a good food for fish and chips, better than giggs and great prices for central London. The owner Walid is cool guy and takes care of his customers well.

Walked in and knew instantly this wasn't a place I wanted to eat. It's filthly dirty which is remarkable as the staff member was sat down talking. I had to wait 5 minutes whilst they cooked chips ample enough time for the dread to set in at the thought of eating something from here. Cancelled the order and walked out empty handed.

When the new owners bought this last year, they should have changed the name because it isn’t a fish and chip shop anymore. Went in there 30 mins after opening and the sausage in batter was so hard, I could have knocked someone out with it!! Saveloy didn’t taste of anything…that tells me that they are from the day before. Curry sauce was so watered down. I have been going regularly for last 8 years and the last year has gone downhill. Just do everyone a favour and take the fish and chip option off the menu, it’s heartbreaking.

Was a nice cosey fish shop with seating area. Food was nice however I found I had to wait quite awhile just for a portion of chips which I was abit disappointed about. 3/5 deffo worth a visit!

Don't bother ordering the gravy. I received a tub of brown water. Chips are nice but fish smells and tastes funny. Don't think I should eat it. Disappointing.

Just landed in London and wanted some food. Everything was fried up fresh for out take away order and reasonably priced.

Food as always been good, ordering since well before covid however we called and ordered food as well always do. When we go to the restaurant 15 mins after the call to find out they don't have enough fish to complete our order(3 out of 4 fish we ordered) so 1 person couldn't have fish as planned form a fish a chip shop.

My dad enjoyed the food it was freshly made, and thank you for keeping our lost belongings until we came back! Honest people here and good service. Many thanks 🙏

Visited the restaurant/takeaway at circa 3.00pm 26th June 2023. My local chip shop for more years that I can remember. I asked the operative who served me for battered sausage and chips. As I saw a new flyer on the counter I asked him if he was a new owner/staff member he said no. I subsequent paid for my order and as I live 3 minutes up the road got home chips and sausage were stone cold wrinkled as they had been there for ages/weekend etc I would advise people to boycott this establishment. Good luck gigs chip shop on Whitfield Street far better but more expensive

It's an ok place to have grilled fish. I had the grilled haddock fillet. It is served with Greek salad. It tastes ok. The service is a little slow.

Nous nous sommes régalés dans ce fish ans chips typique. Le poisson était délicieux, moelleux dedans, croustillant autour! L'accueil très gentil. Le coût est raisonnable et l'assiette vraiment généreuse!

Best fish 'n' chips for miles around. Simple as that. I normally ring ahead for the grilled haddock, chips and salad, but the traditional battered fish is just as good if that's your preference.

It said on Google Maps it was open. It said on the sign of the restaurant it should be open. Even the bloody sign said "We are open!" Well, they were all lying. It was closed at least 2 hours early! I don't know how this was possible, but it was.

We had a great late lunch here today. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I had the beef and onion pie with a salad, my husband had the chicken burger with chips They kindly traded out my chips for a garden salad. We didn’t have the fish and chips but they looked really good and made fresh to order. I will be back!!

A quaint little street side fish'n chips joint, with options of cod, haddock, plaice, calamari (and some others that I can't remember!) Different portion sizes and a selection of sides (haloumi, falafels) we're available apart from fries. Everything was freshly prepared and fried, portions were generous and prices were reasonable. Both take out and dine-in services were offered.

I ordered haddock and chips, my wife ordered cod and chips, and we shared an order of calamari. The calamari was really crispy and thick. Both the cod and the haddock were cooked to perfection! I really love places that specialize in a few good things! We will definitely revisit this place again.

Fish Bone has a reputation as the best chippy in London, and I do think the team matches fish & chips from the best fish & chips in south coast fishing ports (I'm an unbiased local lad and so can't compare with the famous chippies of the Geordies and the Scots!). Alex is one of the nicest & kindest ladies in Fitzrovia, who makes even our most eccentric local characters feel as welcome as if they were stepping into their mothers' kitchens.

Very tasty fish and chips and I can't believe they have Coke and Pepsi! Having both is very unusual where I'm from. The staff is very friendly and I will be coming back!

I have got their a grilled cod fish, salad and fries. It was amazing and within normal prices. Other than that, they are a mix of an Egyptian kind owner, Indian and Greece great chefs. All what you need they can afford.

Excellents fish and chips il va sans dire. Fraîcheur assurée et croustillants à souhait. Sauce tartare faite maison douce et délicieuse. Vraiment une qualité de premier choix de ce mets traditionnel et à prix plus qu’intéressant. Service très personnalisé et attentionné. Difficile à battre dans le quartier. Went to the fish shop at 12.15 and he wasn’t open (even though sign says open 12) Went back 20 minutes later, no saveloy or fish cake available, the small cod was for a child, and the chips were absolutely disgusting and cold. The prices are wrong on the website as well. Sorry won’t be going back, plus the service was really poor.

Just what I needed! An extra 20% to sit down and eat your cod and chips, but still pretty reasonable. Not at all oily, and the fish comes with a lemon.

Hey I hope the restaurant reads this. i'm a local and want to support these lovely people. but the last two times i've ordered, the food was bad. The fish was dry inside, and the chips tasted bad. I love coming to your restaurant but I can't come back while the standard is this low. It's the ingredients. The fish was fried well. But tasted old. EDIT: please can you look into the quality of your ingredients. EDIT: have you changed the way you cook?

Freshly cooked and very well done with nice crisp batter. Fish was fresh and chips good, BUT, the batter was almost inedible because it was so salty- would have been better with half the salt or less hence the rating. Would have been 5* otherwise
