This is a very special place, very friendly staff and good very good too.

I live nearby and sometime take fish&chips from this place. It's one of the best I tried in London, always clean and friendly.

The best fish and chips in London are Greek-owned. All the fish is fresh from Billingsgate Fish Market, and it’s fried in the lightest, crispiest coating—no oil! It’s literally the best, and the fish is seasoned so nicely. The chips are also fresh, crispy, and fluffy inside. I just wish they had an equally nice homemade tartar sauce to go with the fish instead of Heinz which is not great, but other than that, it’s excellent!

Well by my reviews. I like a good Fish and Chip shop. This is the Best. I hate to say. I Haddock and Chips. Well the Haddock was so fresh. I’ve never seen my fish so white after it was cooked to perfection. Taste was amazing. The size of a long plate. The chips were like my nonna used to make. Came in separate bowl. So fresh I had to let them cool a bit. From all the other people in the restaurant. All I heard was complements on the fish they ate, or were eating to staff. Excellent service also. Got a Takeaway today. Well? no surprises, just as good. Fresh,Tasty and just the best.

The fried fish were tender and juicy. Batters were light and crispy with the right amount of seasoning, cooked to perfection. A delight in mouth :)

Wonderful place - often pop in here for takeaway but have also eaten in. Fish and chips cooked perfectly, very friendly, clear that it is a family run place. My old boss used to drive here from Chelsea to get his fish and chips, he was the one that recommended it.

I’m not sure if this is Nautilus fault or Just Eat. I ordered something because I’m working from home. After a while when my stomach was rumbling I noticed that my good had mot been delivered and I checked to find that it was waiting for me to travel 2 miles to collect it 15 minutes ago! When I tried to sort this out in the app all it has is a list of non relevant questions. So here is my solution. Keep the food and the money as I shall be deleting this app and never ordering anything again.

Best bloody chippie around. After a delayed flight and two late buses, going here was exactly what my partner and I needed. Food was great, quick and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and welcoming and the environment was lovely! Fully recommend :)

My Dad owned this business from the early 1950's until the early 70's. We had a great welcome and our food was amazing. My Dad would have been delighted his high standards continue.

Fish had so much oil on it; it was stuck to the paper. The chips were small, cold and very hard. Portion was small. Had the cheek to charge £1.55 service charge. Would not recommend and only ordered cos of reviews. Never again.

Tiny portions of under cooked chips and cod that isnt fresh at. This food isn’t edible , avoid at all costs… so disappointed, just paid £34 for food that I cannot eat! Not sure how this business is sustaining

Siempre la comida ha sido de primera calidad - de hecho creemos que sirven pescado de la mejor calidad en toda el área de Londres. Nuestra forma preferida de comer nuestro pescado es en huevo y matzo - una forma tradicional real y especial de cocinar una excelente comida. El peor pescado para llevar que me han vendido, nunca volverá a ir allí. El pescado estaba seco y sin sabor y pastel de pescado era pequeño. Ambos estaban demasiado fritos. Esto solía ser un gran chippy pero ya no. ¿Te preguntas si ha cambiado de dueño?

Best fish and chips about. Great family who run restaurant

Grateful to those who recommended this place to us. My family and I were welcomed by a very kind lady who immediately understood our needs as we have two small children. The gentleman who takes care of the kitchen also greeted and welcomed us. Hygiene and cleanliness are the very first thing I expect in a place where I eat, especially in London and I really congratulate you for having fully satisfied my expectations. We ordered two excellent quality fish and chips and with immense pleasure we also received two mini version courses for our children. The latter was the gesture that won us over the most, demonstrating that we had a sweet thought. The bill at the end is served with chocolates, the last treat before leaving. None of this was taken for granted, the attention they have for their customers is the winning card. What if we go back?? Certain!! Even if we are out of the area it is absolutely worth it.

Yesterday I had a horrible experience with one of the staff members. Me and a friend came in and were immediately greeted with attitude and aggression. The man serving us could not have had more unprofessionalism. I only wanted one fish and he immediately rolled his eyes at me and made it seem as those I was massively inconveniencing him. He then threw the fish in a box and almost shoved it at me. He then gave a small measly serving of chips and said this is For your friend. This confused me because she had not ordered yet. He then charges me for the full price of chips and fish even though I did not order it. My friend then goes to order and she only wanted small chips. He then again aggressively throws chips in a bag and goes your friend already paid. We intended to pay separately and this confused us again because how could he Have known what my friend was going to order to the point where he could charge me for it. He then says to us very rudely if you have an issue I with it you can send her the money Overall very rude and will not come back

Really disappointed by the treatment received in this establishment, I recently moved locally and was excited to try the place out. Immediately upon entrance was avoided and dismissed, throughout the whole experience it felt unwelcoming and hostile. I myself work in the hospitality I understand people can have off days but this behaviour was honestly just unacceptable and completely unnecessary. The portion of chips we received consisted of less than a handful of chips. In regards to the food it was fine but unfortunately this was diminished by the service we received. I would hate to think this was due to our ethnicity but it is a factor I must consider based on the interaction.

Went in for a takeaway fish and chips. The man serving didn’t greet us well, he actually left the room while we were checking out the menu. My friend and I wanted to order separately but he did not give us the choice and charged her for my order then rudely told me that I owe my friend and I need to pay her and it shouldn’t be a problem. He then walked away. Overall customer service was awful, we felt unwelcome and the staff had a bad attitude. Could have been racist ( we are two black females). Won’t be going back

Great place for both stay in and take away - we go here regularly! The only thing is they like lightly fired chips, so if you like yours a bit more on the brown side, ask and they will make it for you :)

Thought I'd give them a second chance after an awful deliveroo purchase. More fool me! Again, cod small, dry and old. Batter bland and awful Chips uncooked and very average. Scampi portion size for £9 absolute Joke! Not returning.

Fish and chips were cold and soggy threw it away.Cost £33 waste of money.Phoned the restaurant and they weren’t interested at all.

Location is right opposite Fortune Green Park with a large playground area. We got takeaway for lunch - the friendly staff made me feel so welcome and invited me to sit in the warm restaurant whilst I waited for my fish as I had ordered a Plaice, which was freshly made and Cod with a portion of chips. The food was excellent especially the plaice which was so fresh & absolutely delicious and I like the way they cooked the chips. I also witness the staff serving an elderly gentlemen at the restaurant and the kindness shown was super heart warming. Thank you, we will be back more often.

Enjoyed a fantastic Fish'n'Chips dinner here - we ordered the grilled Lemon Sole with chips and mushy peas followed by the selection of ice creams for dessert alongside a carafe of their house white wine and it was all absolutely delicious (especially the complimentary plate of pickles!) At £79 (including service) you can't say fairer than that can you? Superb value for money. Special thanks to our lovely waitress Diana who was so friendly and attentive. Delicious, freshly-cooked food with generous portion sizes, great service and nice surroundings - definite winner. Highly recommended

Not as many chips as you'd expect.

Driver had problems seeing the house numbers, there should be more street lamps really. Food was great as usual, their fish always seems remarkably fresh and they always get the cooking bang-on. Also a nice touch, they'd added three chunky extras of fish, presumably they thought the main fillet wasn't quite big enough (it wasn't small!), what a great attitude to customer satisfaction!

Regular user of this gaff...top fish and chips. Worried about the guy behind the counter as he is always stressed out hopefully he is on medication... Great place for a sit down meal. The seashell is BANG average compared to this place.

Everyone claims that their local fish and chips is the best, but I’ve lived in many parts of London including places where the local ‘chippy’ got a rave review in Time Out and I can tell you that Nautilus is genuinely THE BEST!!! The fish is fresh as fresh can be, the chips are the perfect balance of crisp and fluffy, the owner is the loveliest guy, always gives us a wave even if we’re not popping in *that* day, the staff are wonderful and it’s always clean and homely. Everything you want from a great local restaurant and a cut above the rest. 5 stars doesn’t come close!

Cod & Chips taste extremely bland. Chips very soggy.

Revisited Nautilus as it’s very convenient to our home but sadly remains nothing to write home about. The staff there are great, which makes me want to spend my money there but it’s so greasy with a proper whiffing fish smell. I’ve rated it 3 stars, as it has improved somewhat from my previous rating of 2 stars but it remains not what it once was years ago. I hold out hope they can pull their act together and improve.

Arrived hot and as usual, the fish from Nautilus was really fresh, lovely and flaky. Polite, nice young lad delivering.

I recently dined at this amazing place, and it exceeded all my expectations. The fish dishes were not only incredibly tasty but also fresh and expertly prepared. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. It's clear that this is a family restaurant with a lot of heart and soul. Sorry it’s a no for me, the service is good but unfortunately the chips and saveloy was disappointing, the saveloy was very stiff and not enjoyable to eat, it seemed like it had been sitting in the open air for hours, the chips weren’t great either - and I love chips and saveloy.

The service was excellent and friendly. The selection of fish was amazing. The food was delicious and hot. The shop was bright and clean.

The usual very high quality from Nautilus. The haddock was absolutely perfect and the panko coating was still crisp despite being still hot and nicely wrapped up in paper. Excellent traditional chips too!

First time I’ve ordered from here, the best chips ever. Next time I’ll order fish n chips. Top Quality! The delivery person was polite too.

I used to go as a child with my little brother. We went every so often, but we were never notable customers. At that age we never had proper conversations with the boss. Even so, the boss was kind to us and always used to give us a free extra bag of chips “for the journey”, which was sweet. We always used to think he looked like Jose Mourinho, though never told him to his face. Today, after having moved out of London, I returned to the shop for the first time in 10+ years. It was the same boss who greeted me and took my order. It made me happy to see he was still at the shop. As I was walking out, he asked “so are you still around here? You used to come here when you were a kid”. I told him I had moved away from London but was visiting for the weekend. I couldn’t believe he recognised me! I confirm at 25 years old, I look very different now to when I was 12!! How many thousands of faces have been through the shop over the years?! He told me it was my cheekbones that have stayed the same since I was a kid. It was a very wholesome interaction! In a world of change, it’s nice places like Nautilus are still around to remind you of the good old days. I hope to see him again next time I visit.

I ordered takeaway Chips only via app, just to try, if any good. Was pleasantly surprised, how good, fresh, perfect they were. Next time will order Fish n Chips definitely. I’m changing from my local chippie to this one.

We've been going to Nautilus for over 30 years. They've never let us down and always say hello. Haddock and a generous portion of chips is our 'go to' choice here. A proper, friendly, chippy that's consistently worth a visit.

Ordered on Uber eats. Unfortunately the food was cold and the chips were undercooked. Would give it another try in person at some point to see if it's any better as the reviews seem good.
