Been going here regularly for 10 years now and never disappoints. Genuinely one of the best restaurants and most reliable restaurants in London. Amazing staff and the best value Michelin Star restaurant in London in my opinion. Keep it up guys 10/10.

We came here for a notable birthday meal and we were not disappointed. The range of starters, mains and desserts was more than sufficient for everyone and when the food arrived it was absolutely delicious. My starter of Mackerel rillettes with fish cake set the bar and the main of Roast Cod with olive oil mash was sublime, everything on the plate was perfect and I could happily have eaten it again for dessert! I went for the Grande Assiette de Fromage only because I would never have the opportunity to try such a variety of cheese again, but I could quite easily have had anything (everything) from the dessert menu! The cheese arrived in order and was a real eye opener, especially the Belgium cow cheese. the Service was unobtrusive and efficient - as you would expect - and it was a real pleasure to dine there. We bought our own bottles of wine to take advantage of their corkage allowance, mainly because of the birthday celebration and we knew what we wanted.

So disappointed with this place. We’ve been going for many many years and were always so happy with the experience, but I think they’ve now lost their way. The staff aren’t of the same standard, being asked ‘are you still working on it’ when I’m 1/2 way through my main course cutlery in hand is just ridiculous. Also having to ask for a slice of bread with the pate antipasta is also not great. Taking away every little thing from the table whilst we were eating was also very distracting and annoying, like they’ve only got a few plates and knives ? The cheese board was a big draw always offered with a hefty supplement which was fine as the cheese choice was good and you could choose what you liked. Not anymore! Even asking for soft cheese only, a condescending waitress came up and said 15 minutes after our request “the plate was already prepared” I was taken a back and then she followed it up by well you can eat it madam . Which was a very odd thing to say. I did say no we can’t as we only like soft cheese. Eventually a plate of soft only cheese arrived, but what an unnecessary situation. Sadly we wouldn’t recommend this restaurant any longer. Crowning glory as we exited one of the waitresses was coming back through the front door with a bottle of lucozade and a cheap sandwich. I feel so sad.

We’re chez Bruce for lunch. Our first time and surely not the last. Lovely staff. Very attentive and discreet at the same time. Appetisers were excellent. Had the veal and it was exquisite. Others had the ox cheek rendang, cod goujons etc. All excellent. Had the cod for main and it was fresh, well cooked, the mash was smooth. Tasted the pork which was very tasty and tender. Desserts are lovely. The figs were very good. We had a very crisp Bandol white and everyone found it very pleasant. See you soon Chez Bruce

We have always visited this restaurant when we are in London. The food and service are consistently very good. For a price fixed restaurant it offers many choices and substantial servings. Our party of 4 enjoyed the delicious tuna appetizer. For mains, the lamb was great, and chicken and tenderloin were very good. Crème brûlée was a little disappointing, raspberry tart was good. It is worth the trip to have dinner at Chez Bruce.

It is hard to fault Chez Bruce, not that I would want to. We love the ambiance of the place, the amazing staff and the excellent food. We enjoy our lunches and dinners here, which are always happy and memorable occasions. The food is what I would describe as modern European, some times with a twist such as pork cheeks in an Asian broth. The dining room is traditional - comfortable and conveying a positive and happy atmosphere. As well as dining casually here, we have had dinners in the private function room and spent a number of New Year’s Eves in the restaurant. I always think that the menus is fairly priced. The staff are accommodating and generous. There is not much more to say other than that in a world of uncertainty, Chez Bruce is consistently excellent!

No complaints about the food or service but £4.95 for a small bottle of water; random and huge supplements on certain dishes and massively overpriced courses make Chez Bruce feel like a rip-off. £15 for an eighth of a Bakewell tart means the whole tart was valued at £120 !!! Really ? Customers are sleep-walking into paying ridiculous money for good but not amazing food. Chez Bruce needs to take a reality check. I will not be going to Chez Bruce again. I would rather give money to charity than line the pockets of the greedy.

This restaurant continues to excel itself. A warm welcome and choice of table was a good start. Well mixed gin martinis, tasty parmesan biscuits and fabulous focaccia to nibble while perusing the menus. Very extensive wine list to suit any palate. Starters - lobster raviolo was superb, stuffed full of lobster, with a very tasty lobster bisque. Mains - succulent venison loin and glazed sausage bursting with flavour as was the flaking Cornish hake with shellfish cassoulet. Dessert - deliciously hot chocolate pudding rounded off an evening of tasting delights. Excellent, professional service through out the evening too. Just two observations. The complimentary truffles have dwindled over time from a small bag to just two nowadays. And, the wooden chairs, without any padding, were really uncomfortable after a while - maybe I'll bring my own cushion next time! Otherwise a superb dining experience!

We are locals and regulars at Chez Bruce and tonight sadly it didn’t live up to the usual high standards. A couple of us had the lobster ravioli which was delicious! However the main course of pork was so disappointing and lacking in flavour. The sommelier made a dismissive comment about our 3rd growth bottle of wine (worth £90)) and when asked to decanter one of our bottles of red he responded ‘why would you want to decant that’ not the type of service/response you expect from this type of establishment.. tables are far too close together, please make this an enjoyable experience with the usual lovely staff.

We had some great food. The venison main course was superb. Their wine list is extensive but I took some bottles of wine and paid corkage (a tad expensive at £40 a bottle). A well-regarded restaurant just opposite Wandsworth Common, we were shown to a small upstairs room which I initially thought was somewhat lacking in atmosphere but that may be because initially we were the only two in there. It got busier later and was pleasant enough, but I think if I were going again I might ask to try downstairs. We had some very nice rosemary bread to munch on whilst perusing the menu, which was a fixed price for three courses. Presumably they would have come to some arrangement if you only wanted two. I was a bit unsure about which wine to choose from the extensive selection, and the sommelier helpfully suggested a L’Anjou Blanc which was a new one on me but went down very well. The menu offered a decent selection with six or seven choices per course. I started with the Tuna Tartare which came with marinated peppers, tuna aioli, lemon, fennel and basil oil. It was a lovey dish, light and refreshing but full of flavour and a great start to the meal. For main course I opted for the Cornish hake with shellfish cassoulet, prawn croustillant, bourride sauce, celeriac puree and mustard. This too was attractively presented and very tasty, with a decent slab of well-cooked fish. Across the table, the Pork belly and fillet with crisp black pudding potato, caramelised apples, celeriac purée was also very well received. The desert choice didn’t grab me quite as much as expected, but that’s probably just personal preference. In the end I went for the Chocolate tart with stout ice cream and caramel. Very good, but a little heavy after the meal perhaps and I didn’t think the caramel was especially noticeable. Maybe I should have just gone for the crème brulee. We finished up with a latte which was decent enough although the accompanying chocolates (they shouldn’t really be listed as plural, there’s only one each) were just a small cocoa powder dusted truffle. Other than that though, a very enjoyable meal, with friendly helpful staff and great food.

Management made no effort to control the raucous and loud behavior of the four guests at a nearby table. In fact, the sommelier actually helped contribute to their obnoxiousness. As for the food, there seemed to be something wrong with my wife's main course (it tasted "off") and she was only able to take a couple of bites. We brought this to the attention of the management and their response was to credit the supplement charge of the dish. Overall, I think the restaurant was not deserving of its Michelin star, certainly not that evening.

This has got to be one of the best restaurants in London. The food is consistently top notch and it offers arguably the best value for money for this standard of food of anywhere in London. Family lunch where we tried a good selection of courses and every one declared a winner. There is a generosity, not just in terms of quantity but in the quality of ingredients, the seasoning and the attention to detail. No messing about with tasting menus just thoughtfully constructed, seasonal dishes expertly cooked. And - the cheese plate is a triumph. Where to start? A warm welcome and well spaced corner table for two. Very attentive service starting with great gin martinis and the most luscious green olives. Crisp parmesan biscuits and the lightest, moistest focaccia I've ever eaten. Never chosen a lobster and scallop raviolo...

What a nice restaurant this is. From the food, to the venue itself and the friendly staff. We celebrated my parents’ birthday party a couple of weeks ago and it was, as we already anticipated, a good choice. The set menu is great, with enough...

A fixed price menu that is wonderful. My starter was an unctuous and satisfying pasta dish with rich oxtail. My cod main course was also outstanding. The trimmings were also excellent from a hot, salty focaccia to the mini Parmesan toasts. The service was very...

Mostly, I get irritated at best with fine dining - fine describing more accurately the slender portion(s) that, even if the taste is (often only occasionally) astounding, come at absurdly high prices. Chez Bruce is not, of course, cheap. Even the lower-price lunch menu that...

We were looking forward to dinner as a family in a restaurant with decent European food. Unfortunately they have changed the decor from what’s in the pictures to something much cheaper, which was a shame. Then we were presented with a Bar Menu for dinner with only burgers and sandwiches for dinner in a restaurant. Disappointed, we carried on and ordered the Chicken Burgers, one was burnt and one had the wrong sauce. They kindly took them back but then replaced them with what looked like the same burgers. The prices were also extremely high - restaurant prices for bar food! Unfortunately we won’t be back.

The restaurant is located directly on the Thames and has a circular floor to ceiling glass layout. The ground floor is essentially a coffee shop that serves meals and the first floor is a restaurant. An ideal place for a relaxed meal. Good food, friendly staff, and excellent views of the river. The breakfast pancakes are not to be missed.

Such a beautiful town! The castle is a fantastic experience, staff were so friendly and helpful. The displays were stunning and well displayed, lovely to see. We were on a tour so couldn't spend as much tie as we would have liked. Highly recommend, hope to come again.

Went for a birthday celebration. Our usual dining preference is a definite cuisine with homestyle cooking and no pretension. Once a year or so we do a fine dining option. She is vegetarian, I am less fussy. I am a good home cook, she works in the restaurant trade and we are sympathetic to current difficulties. We didn’t need to be so here; OK so I usually blench at the sight of a man tweezering food and waitstaff that serves the first course with “Let’s start our journey”,; it often signals a night of pretension and not much else, but this was excellent cooking and service to back it up. There is a £65 four course menu and a £85 tasting menu incl a veg option. We had the 4 course. Yes the portions are small, its not quite the ‘bag of chips on the way home’ scenario but its not gluttony either and ‘langoustine’ is exactly what it says. One langoustine, £15 additional option, doubtless because of the dab of caviar on the top of it, but it was the most perfectly cooked specimen I have ever had. They don’t travel well and often past their best before they arrive at a kitchen. The brioche melted in the mouth, the risotto was al dente but not raw and the parmesan crisp on top of it had obviously taken a lot of work, a sea bream ceviche was seriously fresh and beautifully balanced. The monkfish delicate and moreish. The wine list is expensive but that’s how it is these days – deal with it. The (presumably) head chef with the tweezers had obviously put in a lot of hard work in prep before he picked them up. Watching the kitchen staff in the open kitchen you saw zero macho heroics and a lot of surefooted care. The room wasn’t full all night and so I cannot vouch for the noise level past that, but mercifully no-one had turned up a ‘curated’ playlist. Service was attentive without being obsequious; you don’t usually get a recommendation for a Ukrainian ‘shots bar’ at the post dinner chat – we will check it out on a less refined evening. Really enjoyed it, you would be hard pressed to find better at this style of cooking and certainly not at this price level. Definitely worth a visit. Damn fine stuff.
