We, as a party of four, had the pleasure of a lunch cruise last Saturday. The event surpassed my expectations and was seriously good. Having elected the premier package and paid £49 per head for a three course lunch and a 90 min cruise including wine for four I had realistic expectations as to quality and service. However all four of us were really impressed by every aspect of the event. First impressions were very good you board through a smart lounge area and the glass room looks very cool when you arrive. Tables are set nicely with crisp linen and although the service was full and busy you do not feel cramped in any way. Service was swift despite the staff being incredibly busy with a full dining room and 90 mins to serve drinks and three courses. The food was surprisingly good served quickly and really good quality for what we deemed a highly respectable price. The premium package comes with a bottle of wine per couple, we elected to have the Gavi and again it was perfectly acceptable. The cruise lasted 90 minutes and I was amazed at the organisation that delivered three courses pre lunch g and t and wine finishing almost to the minute we docked. In summary a really lovely experience delivered by efficient friendly staff in a lovely location. I highly recommend the to anyone visiting London and recommend the premium package as it is well worth the extra.

After being seated at our table we were told by the manager Maurico that I did not book a Premier dinner, so after he walked away I found my booking in my emails, and when he walked past our table again I tapped him on his shoulder to show him the confirmation.... he said “ Don’t touch me that is HORRIBLE”!!!! I was taken aback as why he would say this to me and the guest at the table next to ours were as disgusted as I and my husband were!!! I dare he speak to a lady like this!!! How can you be a manager and conduct yourself in such a rude manner!!! I hope you are reprimanded over this behavior!!! I would never recommend this tour to anyone... for the food and the price you pay and the rudeness of your manager!!! It was beyond a horrible experience!! Karma is coming to you Maurico!!!

I went here with some friends over a weekend (Saturday night), I did feel it sounded a little pretentious from the dress code (DJ’s and cocktail dresses). I emailed and got told open shirt was fine but suit trousers were a MUST, then I looked on Trip Advisor and saw on the night it appeared it was actually a bit more relaxed. When I phoned in a spoke to Mihaela Moise, she told me the person who sent the email was wrong and to ignore what people had written on Trip Advisor! She told me that under no uncertain terms the dress code was formal, DJ’s/suits and cocktail dresses and people would be turned away in anything else!

We booked our City Cruise Lunch Cruise a few weeks in advance to our trip to London and were glad that we did! Once we were loaded onto the ship and seated, the boat starts to move first towards the West near Big Ben and the London eye, and then turns around and goes underneath the London and Tower bridges. Thinking back to things we saw at the Tower, people used to love to cruise on the Thames. Handel's Water Music was composed in 1717 for the King while cruising on the Thames. Unfortunately, on our cruise, the music was not as exciting. It was a beautiful cruise, and dinner was interesting. It was a nice way to wind down after a busy day in the British museum. Maybe the music would have been better had I sampled the wine? LOL

We chose this trip to mark a special occasion but left feeling anything but. The experience has so much potential and the sites are beautiful but the execution is poor. We interacted with three members of staff, the waiter was lovely but the manager and stewardess offered bad service, my partner described as rude. Food was pretty good. Welcome drink was not nice. Route was great. Entertainment average quality but good song choices. We were also told we should have booked direct with them and not via Expedia. I suspect that was the reason for the substandard treatment. Seat overlooking the emergency exit sign, additional charge for a candle to celebration, no choice of view. Shame as there is a good amount of potential here.

I recently went on the 'Classic' Thames Dinner Cruise with my girlfriend for her birthday and we had a lovely evening. Friendly and efficient service when embarking and then superb on-board dining and service throughout the journey, from Embankment travelling west, past Westminster and then turning round and sailing east past all the main Thames-side landmarks before turning round at the O2 and arriving back at Embankment after a journey of 2 and 3 quarter hours. It was great going up to the top-deck for terrific views of the city, especially as darkness was setting, London is so special at night. The 'Classic' package and being the cheapest meant a table towards the middle of the deck and therefore missing out on the best views of the shore whilst dining, the 'Signature' package, which is around £50.00 extra, guarantees a window table and therefore the perfect view of the shore. Excellent music and entertainment provided by the resident band, helped to make for a lovely and unique evening.

A wonderful 3-piece band entertained us all night with music which revved up as the night progressed but was certainly not too loud. Martin our waiter was delightful. The dress code is strict and some people in front of us had to get a refund as one lady in their group showed up with tennis shoes.amd wasn't allowed on board. When we booked they stressed the dress code so take notice! It left on time and arrive back on time. There was a choice of food to cater to most tastes and servings were generous. Some people paid extra for an extra course and unlimited house wine. We were happy without and happy to choose our own. Very enjoyable cruise on the Symponhy, was expecting some live music due to the name of the boat, there was some music piped out but as it was also a sight seeing tour most if it was a recording tell of the history of the buildings along the Thames. We had a look around 1 hr before the boat was due to sail & could see staff setting the tables, pushing glasses etc, later when we were waiting to board, the tables were being inspected & retouched where needed. My husband and I came here for our one year wedding anniversary on Saturday and were very impressed with the experience. Although we both work in central London (we actually went past my building), we don't get to see all of the city, especially in such a beautiful setting. The staff are friendly and tentative when needed. Food is excellent. Not a huge wine selection but those on offer were ok (a few more options would be nice but nothing that makes the experience any less special). The ambience is lovely and with the sky going from day to night really sets a romantic setting. The only negative is if you go for the Signature or Platinum option the 2.45 hours is taken up by the courses and no time to dance towards the end of the night (which is a shame as the live music is great). Our liqueur option arrived 5 minutes before our tea and coffee which was served as we docked. This was the only downside as couldn't quite enjoy these. I think May is a great time to go on the boat, as it starts light and you see the sun go down. I feel we managed to get the best of the experience. We thoroughly recommend this experience. We have 2 couples who are looking for something for their anniversaries and we've recommended this. For a special occasion you can even pay a little extra to get a sparkling candle which is a lovely little extra.

We (x4) had the pleasure on dining aboard Symphony on Easter Saturday for dinner. Whilst our expectations were not too high at the thought of eating from a set menu cooked in a galley, we were totally amazed with the choices presented to us and the quality of the food presented - very much fine dining quality. Service was very warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive. Whilst at £130 per head appears steep, the cost was very much value for money as included the boat trip, entertainment, x5 course dinner, unlimited wines and after dinner liqueur. The views down the Thames were stunning, then as we turned and returned during nightfall, the views changed and offered a totally differing perspective. The whole experience was superb and we would all highly recommend the experience - we will, without question or doubt, re-book when next in London.

Stunning views, tasty/swanky food, knowledgeable information given throughout the tour of the Thames, the history of London and a few fun facts. However there were a few niggly grumbles ……..On arrival there seemed to be a lot of waiting around to board, after being told to arrive 15 minutes before the boarding time, me and my partner were still waiting after 45 minutes. We got seated at a lovely window seat and well-presented table which was nice however our waiter spoke limited English which often made it difficult to ask questions and generally communicate with. Each waiter was designated to around four and five tables to wait on and in general look after. Other waiters seemed to be chatty, friendly, topping wine glasses up etc. I think this would of made a better atmosphere and for us as our waiter didn’t pour our wine or water, he didn’t introduce himself and forgot to bring us our teas and coffee at the end of the meal (which was included and paid for before hand ) resulting in me asking awkwardly for it 5 minutes before arriving back at the embankment. Would have been great to have received a better service with the price we paid but enjoyed it regardless of this.

Upon arrival we were shown to our seats with our starter already set at the table. Which was Prawn, Smoked Salmon & Salmon Mouse (Nice if you like fish). Very tasty chicken dish for main and a light cheesecake for dessert. Although we didn't know what food was going to served it was lovely, better than in some restaurants I have eaten in. A couple of things to watch out for 1. Coffee isn't included in the price2. Waiting staff walk around with cocktails on a tray asking if you would like a cocktail but charge you for it at the end of the evening. Elvis entertainment was good.

Although you do not have a choice from a menu, the food served was very good and probably what I would have chosen anyway. There was a commentary during our meal which was very informative but not overpowering. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The experience was over all too quickly. We had an excellent seat by the glass window.

What a special evening this was. My daughter surprised me with this for my birthday and my husband and I had a wonderful time. The food was lovely and we were seated at the window so we could see all the sights. All drink was included and the entertainment was also great. You could also get up and dance after the meal if you wished.

Really enjoyed the evening . Meet you on arrival with a glass of bubbly then take you to your table . Food is nice and comes at an enjoyable pace throughout the trip . Service is very professional and attentive . Got this for a special offer price and was happy with what we paid , wouldn't have paid full price , unless it was a real special occasion .Enjoyed as much as the first time we went a real treat for couples just wanting a lovely evening . Would recommend .

We've booked a table for a dinner cruise to celebrate a special date and everything went great apart from the food. The service was really great and the waiters were really polite and helpful. But the food..... specially the main course, uneatable. It was a sort of chicken breast with 'supposedly parma ham' and vegetables. The chicken tasted like paper and the ham was bitter and smelled funny. I could see in most of the tables around plates left almost untouched.Perhaps this is not the usual menu or something went wrong on that specific night.

Extremely enjoyable evening. Good food, wine adequate, singer was entertaining and she did a good job. Could have done with a few more dancing, but then that would have cramped my style! Really good night all round with London in all its night time glory.

We went as a party of 6, including one vegetarian. The staff seemed effortlessly efficient, food was hot, well-prepared and tasty and the wine selection perfectly adequate. The cabaret singer, although a bit cheesy, was a good host. The sights of the Thames-side landmarks made it a great experience. Our top rating was unanimous.

I have nothing negative to say about this experience. Perhaps only one thing, that it did not last longer. We booked Signature 5 course dinner for two, with champagne, wine and after dinner liqueur included. Food was tasteful and plentiful (really tender ox cheeks), wine choice was very good too and entertainment enjoyable. We had window table guaranteed with our choice of dinner and it was definitely worth to pay for. We can't fault service either, very attentive but not constantly in your face. Loads of people took off to dance floor towards the end of the cruise. Brilliant evening!!

We had a great evening on the Thames dinner cruise. We had a starter of smoked salmon and prawns, followed by tomato soup. Our main was chicken in parma ham and dessert chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. All courses were amazing. During the meal, we were entertained by a live singer, singing show tunes and old classics. The singer was also the host for the night, explaining what all the famous landmarks were as we passed. The service was really good, staff were friendly and helpful. We had a really great evening and would highly recommend it.

We attended the 'Fun, Fizz and Fireworks' river cruise on New Year's Eve. The event sounded amazing as below:Celebrate 2016 on the River Thames with our Fun, Fizz and Fireworks Cruise. Guests will be welcomed on board a Fizztastic Champagne reception as you embark at a Central London Pier. The boat will then sail past the main Landmarks along the River as you enjoy an informal evening of fun, free flowing drinks and finger food. Join us on board the Golden Salamander for a spectacular view of the fireworks at midnight and start your 2017 in style and off with a bang! Tickets are £180 inc vat per person and include; - Scheduled Cruise between 20.30 – 01.30 - Champagne reception - Finger food - Open bar serving unlimited beers, wines and soft drinks - Live DJ - Fireworks & Champagne at midnightIn reality, it was rather drab, especially to start with. We queued, as recommended, early and boarding seemed really slow. There seemed to be so many people waiting to get on (and with many people behind us too). When we did get on, the top deck where the DJ and music was, was completely full, standing room only. On the downstairs deck, it was very basic with tables round the outside and only a couple of spaces left. We asked a couple to move along as there were four in our party and this resulted in some very disgruntled people saying they had queued for two hours and why should they. Also, sitting downstairs, there was no music as this was only on the deck above. The queue for a drink at the bar was very long, as obviously, everyone wanted to get a drink when they first got on. During the evening this was not too bad, but the same with the food. In all honesty, when we stopped just before midnight, the location was good to see the fireworks, but I did feel that the price of £180 per person was too high.Although I appreciate they would have only filled the boat to the official capacity, for an event that was £180 per person, there were too many people for you to enjoy the evening as it was advertised.

For the second time in three years our company decided to hold it's End of year celebration on board the Erasmus. We embarked at 10.45 and returned to dock at 4pm. The day was spent cruising gently up the Thames and back again with a three course lunch along the way and taking in the fabulous sights and amazing architecture which makes London one of the Worlds great cities. The food was pretty average really, the main course was braised beef which had been pulled apart, mixed with some rich type of gravy then put into a mould so that it vaguely resembled a fillet steak at a quick glance - and if you'd had plenty to drink! The pud was a tarte tatine, which had been lounging in a warmer for far too long making the base hard and unappetising, never the less I've had far worse in my time and the service was good on the whole, with the exception probably of a stony faced grey haired woman with an unseemly midriff revealing blouse, who seemed to be running the show. The live music was good with a wide variety of music and on the whole I would recommend this trip.

We have just returned from a Saturday evening (Nov 12th) on board the Symphony, a Signature Dinner Cruise gift from our sons. Sadly we did not feel that the cruise delivered what was promised, certainly not for the price charged, £270 for two. We were very much looking forward to a relaxing evening on the river, with a five course a la carte meal and after dinner dancing as advised in the itinerary. Our main course did not arrive until 10.00pm and we then were served at break neck speed the remaining two courses, coffee and after dinner liqueur in order to disembark for 10.45pm! There was absolutely no opportunity for after dinner dancing and the whole experience felt like a conveyor belt. It would seem the evening was poorly planned with the first two hours delivering only an amuse bouche and a starter. Perhaps this was not the usual course of events but we were extremely disappointed and felt that it in no way represented the experience that was portrayed in the advertising nor was value for money. The evening needs to be either longer or the meal shorter but it is over ambitious to serve five courses with after dinner dancing in two and three quarter hours with any degree of leisure! Overall very disappointing and certainly would not recommend.

My wife and I took the Bateaux Classic lunch Cruise on a rainy day, but despite the weather had a great experience. We were fortunate to be seated on a window table - all tables are couples unless a group booking. We arrived as recommended at 1145 and were directed to board immediately which was good as it would seem, in true Brit fashion that most people had been waiting in the waiting area and had obviously arrived earlier. Anyway tables are assigned from bookings so there is no "first come first served" situation. The vessel, one of two - Harmony or Symphony - is a large river boat in very good order with a number of large restaurant saloons laid out for dining and assigned proper linen napkins. The sailing time is scheduled 30 minutes after boarding and during this time a very cheerful and efficient waiter took drinks orders from a decent wine and spirit selection. Prices quite OK.After sailing the vessel proceeds down river and there is an excellent commentary to identify Thames-side points of interest with good historical information. The commentary is not intrusive at all and does not in any way prevent normal conversation. It passes under Tower Bridge and of course the Tower and subsequently reverses course up river to return to the Pier - total time 90 minutes.A three course hot lunch is served. No choice except for dietary requirements although an adjacent couple to us asked for a variation in the starter and this was readily accommodated.Starter- Smoked salmon roulade with pickled cucumber and decent breadMain- Chicken Supreme with mash and green beans.Dessert- steam pud - nice light sponge. If you are expecting a monster blow-out forget it and find a Toby Carvery. It was a fully acceptable lunch well presented and well-cooked. The service was also very good and the meal progressed in a proper manner around the 90 minute cruise schedule. Good job.Dress is "smart casual" and the cruise environment justifies this and is enforced so use common sense and give the occasion the respect it deserves. The cruise boards from the Thames Embankment Pier close to Embankment Tube Station and Embankment Gardens so is very convenient. If you want to guarantee a window seat book the premium offering for an extra £11 a head to include some wine and water. You will have paid for the cruise upfront when booking so the bill after lunch is for discretionary extras such as drinks - no service charge but we were glad to reward the excellent service. We had no complaints at all and will return.

We went on the Thames Dinner Cruise last night, and certainly did not experience any staff being "jobs worth' , as previous posts indicate as regards to the wearing of training shoes ! I would say 60% of the passengers last had training shoes on, and nothing was said from staff. We was welcomed by very welcoming staff, excellent service and the food was fine, for the type of event, the lady singing was excellent, it was great being stood on the top deck going under Tower bridge in the dark of night enjoying the lights . A perfect evening thank you city cruises .

What a way to see London? An evening of music, dinner, dancing plus an added bonus of fireworks. Whilst there were not a lot of people on the boat there was a mixture of tourists, anniversary celebrations and people like us who just wanted a good night out. We were not disappointed. The 4 course set meal was ok the trip is good value for money. Half a bottle of wine per person and a glass of fizz on arrival. Great singer who sang well known hits. Highly recommend it.

Luckily we had a lovely sunny day. From start to finish we had a lovely relaxing time. The food was ok, nothing special and quite small portions, but was hot and tasted fine. The drinks were normal London prices which surprised me as I thought with such a captive audience, they'd be a lot more expensive. The staff were really good. Funny and joined in with a bit of light hearted banter. A bit prices, but great for a one off to see London in all its glory

Went for a family meal to celebrate my grandmothers birthday. Arriving from work in my trainers (my heels in my bag I was about to get changed into) I was greeted with 'you can't wear those' by a rude receptionist. She then observed all that we were wearing and pointed at my sister's smart sandals and said we couldn't come in. No hello or anything. We were all dressed extremely smart and started embarrassing us in front of the big queue of guests. I then asked for the manager as this was a bit over the top which she refused. At this point it was really upsetting my grandmother. We managed to speak to the manager who was lovely and apologised. Another group of Asian tourists were also turned away because of their 'inappropriate' footwear. Although when boarding the boat we could see many people wearing Nike trainers and the original group still weren't aloud on the boat! This was complete discrimination! The staff on the boat however were incredible. The dinner and views were lovely. Towards the end a singer started and the experience suddenly turned into a tacky butlins karaoke style party. Considering the money we spent the experience was meant to be 'top class' I feel the other guests Nike trainers were more formal then the entertainment. The company need to change their receptionist staff and their entertainment. Don't waste you time or money to be singled out and judged.

I attended a friends wedding reception on 'Erasmus' which consisted of a reception, dinner, live-band and 6 hours cruising on the Thames. We boarded the boat at Tower pier at 6pm and were taken downstream beyond the Thames barrier and back up the river as far as Chelsea before returning to Tower pier. Six hours might sound like a long cruise, but the time flew by.On arrival, in traditional fashion we were met by the newly-weds and their families. This took place on the upper deck and there was an seemingly endless supply of very good quality Prosecco served in style by an enthusiastic and friendly team who were immaculately turned out.Dinner was served about an hour later on the lower deck. All seating had been planned, so there was no rush to find somewhere to sit. Complimentary red and white wine was available on the table which was set up with white linen table clothes and napkins and had the feel of an upmarket restaurant. Having done a few boat trips before my expectations for the food were set fairly low. This was expelled as soon as the starter arrived; a beautifully presented melon and fruit dish with balsamic vinegar glaze - simple, but quite delicious. This was accompanied by a selection of artisan breads rolls which were absolutely stunning - fresh, warm a choice of at least three types. I've only had bread this good at Michelin Star establishments and I was so impressed I requested a second serving and was presented with a plate of three types of roll and a new dish of butt - very impressive. These were shared between the other gusts on our table. The main course course for non-vegetarians was a beef steak, served with baby carrots and sautéed potatoes in a delicious beef gravy. I'm not sure as to exact cut of beef, but I think it was shin or brisket, slowly cooked to perfection which melted in the mouth. This a brilliant way to do meat for a banquet (there were 100 of us on the trip). The desert was a rich cheesecake with a chocolate topping. Again, this was simple fare, but the quality was outstanding. This meal meal could easily sit among the best I've had.Once dinner was completed, we had the cake cutting ceremony on the upper deck, followed by dancing to a live band until we arrived back at Tower Hill shortly before midnight. Our boat was clean, tastefully furnished and had ample toilet facilities. There was an open top deck, easily access by a staircase at the rear which was great for viewing the sights along the way. Thankfully there was no commentary en-route, so it was possible to just enjoy the sunset and the amazing buildings of London as they came alight.I accept that this review is very anecdotal and personal, but I can absolutely recommend this excellent boat and all its crew. I literally cannot find fault in this wonderful evening's entertainment.

This trip was a Fathers day gift from our Son. BRILLIANT EXPERIENCE from start to finish - 3 Course Sunday Lunch - top quality, well cooked and one of the best we've had! Well done to the chef and team! We chose the Chicken and Salmon mains which were cooked to perfection and piping hot when delivered to our table. Starters - Ham Hock Terrine with bread sticks and chocolate brownie deserts all served to a very high standard. Presentation of food - very high standard. Bottle of water with main meals - beers and coke were also part of the package (instead of bottle of Wine - not wine drinkers...). Coffee and teas were also available - coffee very nice too! Jazz music - piano, saxophone and male singer were brilliant - great atmosphere on board. Staff - waiters were very good - friendly and happy in their roles. The whole experience lasted 2.5 hours (left at 1pm and return to jetty 3.30pm). Lots of sights to see - brilliant way to see London from the river. Our cruise was full but not 'cramped'. Lots of room to move about without feeling like a sardine. The premier package included - window seats/table for two, not overlooked by neighbours - and drinks (bottled mineral water/wine or beers/coke etc) - £15 extra per person We would definitely return to experience one of the alternative cruises - for another special occasion maybe. Easy to locate from Waterloo Station - 10 min walk across Westminster Bridge. We chose to take the train to Waterloo Station as it meant we didn't have to use the underground system. Quick and simple.

The whole experience is very well thought out and put together, and we found it very romantic. My husband normally finds something he would have changed, or didn't really like, but not even he could find fault. The only thing I would change is that I would have stayed on the boat just a little bit longer, but that is beacuse we were having such a great time.

Ordering a black coffee ends up with what looks like brown dirty hot water and taste like nothing. Then asking the barrista if it could be replaced with a similar coffee, but less water was as if I had asked him to give me his life. I was made to feel like I was committing a cardinal sin. How dare I! First and last time I buy a coffee from this place.

We were looking forward to dinner as a family in a restaurant with decent European food. Unfortunately they have changed the decor from what’s in the pictures to something much cheaper, which was a shame. Then we were presented with a Bar Menu for dinner with only burgers and sandwiches for dinner in a restaurant. Disappointed, we carried on and ordered the Chicken Burgers, one was burnt and one had the wrong sauce. They kindly took them back but then replaced them with what looked like the same burgers. The prices were also extremely high - restaurant prices for bar food! Unfortunately we won’t be back.

The restaurant is located directly on the Thames and has a circular floor to ceiling glass layout. The ground floor is essentially a coffee shop that serves meals and the first floor is a restaurant. An ideal place for a relaxed meal. Good food, friendly staff, and excellent views of the river. The breakfast pancakes are not to be missed.

Went for a birthday celebration. Our usual dining preference is a definite cuisine with homestyle cooking and no pretension. Once a year or so we do a fine dining option. She is vegetarian, I am less fussy. I am a good home cook, she works in the restaurant trade and we are sympathetic to current difficulties. We didn’t need to be so here; OK so I usually blench at the sight of a man tweezering food and waitstaff that serves the first course with “Let’s start our journey”,; it often signals a night of pretension and not much else, but this was excellent cooking and service to back it up. There is a £65 four course menu and a £85 tasting menu incl a veg option. We had the 4 course. Yes the portions are small, its not quite the ‘bag of chips on the way home’ scenario but its not gluttony either and ‘langoustine’ is exactly what it says. One langoustine, £15 additional option, doubtless because of the dab of caviar on the top of it, but it was the most perfectly cooked specimen I have ever had. They don’t travel well and often past their best before they arrive at a kitchen. The brioche melted in the mouth, the risotto was al dente but not raw and the parmesan crisp on top of it had obviously taken a lot of work, a sea bream ceviche was seriously fresh and beautifully balanced. The monkfish delicate and moreish. The wine list is expensive but that’s how it is these days – deal with it. The (presumably) head chef with the tweezers had obviously put in a lot of hard work in prep before he picked them up. Watching the kitchen staff in the open kitchen you saw zero macho heroics and a lot of surefooted care. The room wasn’t full all night and so I cannot vouch for the noise level past that, but mercifully no-one had turned up a ‘curated’ playlist. Service was attentive without being obsequious; you don’t usually get a recommendation for a Ukrainian ‘shots bar’ at the post dinner chat – we will check it out on a less refined evening. Really enjoyed it, you would be hard pressed to find better at this style of cooking and certainly not at this price level. Definitely worth a visit. Damn fine stuff.
